“In the same way the children of Elohim and the children of the devil are revealed. Anyone not exercising righteousness is not of Elohim, nor one that does not love his brother. Because that is the same message that has been heard from the beginning, with the purpose of loving one another. Neither as Cain, who was in agreement with evil, and put his brother to death by violence. And why did he kill him? Because he was occupied with evil and his brother’s righteousness.” – 1 John 3:10-11, P4T
One of the essential proofs about whether a person is a disciple of Yahshua [Jesus] the Messiah is based the reflection of love in that disciple. However, this concern doesn’t simply rest in love, regardless of what you might believe that love is. The real basis for love is firmly grounded in the righteousness of YHWH, as well as living within His track of righteousness. This track was established by Him from the beginning, laid out in scripture. This is not Judeo-Christian ethics, a certain version of morality, or the traditions and fables of men and women. To live within His track of righteousness directly involves your course of life and your actions. This means that you reflect His Word and Spirit in your life by agreement with Him through personal trust. That is the spiritual nature of a disciple. The opposite example is of Cain, who put himself in agreement with evil and killed his brother, all because of jealousy, envy and pride. Cain began living by his own rules and emotions, and acted on those. While the example seems extreme, the point is made. (“Grace, His Protective Love & You“; “Obtaining the Road to Life“; “Respecting Those You Love“)
“You understand that this was said by the ancients: ‘Do not murder.’ Then those that murder will be liable to the Judgment. Now I say this to you because anyone that is angry with his own brother without reason will be subject to the Judgment. Now anyone that has said to his own brother, ‘you worthless one,’ will be subject to the Sanhedrin and anyone who may have said ‘you fool’ is subject to the abundance of gehenna’s fire [destruction].” – Matthew 5:21-22, P4T
The system of man grades and punishes its own way: by its own rules, its own style of morality. Our Father doesn’t grade sin this way. As far as Elohim is concerned, all men and women are able to repent, to turn aside from sin of the past simply by realizing the problem (their disagreement with Him), going to Him in prayer, and refusing to repeat that sin. Genuine disciples are so different that the world will often show hatred out of fear, just as the authority of the world did for Yahshua [Jesus]. Disciples are to show real concern and love for their spiritual brothers and sisters in the assembly, not to descend into the strife and pettiness of the world around them. Disciples have a different view on life, a life pattern of healing and peace. (“1 John 1:5-10 – Some Ideas on the Meaning of Sin“; “Understanding Sin“; “He Made the Way Around Sin“; “Life Healing & Belief“; “The Importance of Practical Repentance“)
“My brothers, do not wonder whether the world hates you. We understand that departure from death to life, because of the love of the brothers. One not loving a brother continues in death. Anyone hating ones brother is a murderer. Also, know that not a murderer does not possess eternal life remaining in that one. In the same understanding, the love of Elohim is that He laid down His life breath for our sake, and we are indebted to lay down life breath for the brothers. But whoever that possesses worldly means and discerns a brother having lack, even closing off tender affection from him, how much is the love of Elohim present in that one? My beloved, do not love in word, nor in tongue, but deed and truth. And in the same way, we discern that we are of the truth and are in heartfelt agreement in His presence.” – 1 John 3:13-19, P4T
To love one’s brother or sister in Messiah is a departure from death to life. Anyone that refuses to love is a murderer, someone that elects to continue in death. To forgive is often part of this reality. To remain unrepentant and unexamined by remaining in this kind of deception and error is to love death rather than life. As an additional reflection on this brotherly love, to refuse to help a brother or sister when you have the means shows a dangerous lack of love. Disciples must not give lip service to love, but live this in their actions. Through loving concern and active caring, disciples prove that they are in heartfelt agreement with the Father and His provision for them, even as they learn to live daily in His presence. (“Disciple: Exalted In Agreement Though Humility“; “Loving the World & Rejecting the Messiah“; “Disciples: His Showbread Walking Out His Righteousness“; “Dealing with Separation From Personal Well-Being“)
“Because, when we have a heart that finds fault, Elohim is larger than our heart and discerns everything. Beloved, when our heart does not find fault, we possess boldness before Elohim. Also, whatever that is asked is taken hold of from Him because of guarding His commands, and keeping agreement in His presence. And this is His command: that we trust in the Name of His Son Jesus Messiah, and love one another, just as our appointed command. And one that guards his commands pitches His tent with Him, and He with Him. Also, through this knowledge that He pitches His tent in us, through the Spirit that He has offered us.” – 1 John 3:20-24, P4T
Disciples are not to find fault with one another, but to support and love each other through the Messiah and the provision of His Counselor, His Ruach [Set Apart or ‘Holy Spirit’]. We are to learn and exercise His Way of love. In this way, each of us is able to go boldly before Elohim in life and with personal prayer. Disciples eagerly guard His commands in their hearts and stay in agreement with Elohim. While each of us learns to discern unrighteousness, we leave judgment to our Father, instead of taking this on ourselves. The road of life can be troublesome as it is, but the narrow and troublesome road is the Way, the road and gate that leads to life. Most people seek to avoid trouble or any sign of trouble at any cost. However, this cannot be where trust in Elohim is involved. The difference is that the firmly-rooted disciple gives his trouble to the Father, trusting on Him, even His Authority, to level the road. Even in Christianity, multitudes of people will do anything to avoid agreement with their Heavenly Father, even reasoning away His provision, His love for each of us. They do not obtain the Way to eternal life by reflecting His love to others, but substitute their own way as an antichrist or antimessiah. This is a tough message to hear, but continuing on the road to destruction doesn’t have to be. This simply requires a change of mind and heart. (“The Antichrist & the War on Reality“; “Leaders & the Antichrist Spirit of Wisdom“; “Balancing Authority & the Road to Enslavement“; “Imaginary Independence“)
“Enter in through the narrow gate. Because wide is the gate and spacious the road, put to death through destruction, and many, by their reason, agree to enter. For narrow is the gate and troublesome is the road, the one that leads to life, and few agree to obtain it.“ – Matthew 7:13-14, P4T
What does it mean to pitch your tent? That is a Hebrew expression that is usually ignored for the words dwell or abide. Elohim desires that we remain close to Him, as if each of us pitches a tent next to His, or attached to His. In this way, disciples are able to stay close to Him (think loving family), and be in agreement with His Will while enjoying His presence. He shows us favor, grace, or more accurately, protective love – something that all of us can learn to model more closely. In this Way, He builds a circle, hedge or encampment of protection as each of us lives in His presence, which is love. Yahshua [Jesus] did no less, as the earthly sacrificial provision of Elohim’s love. Please consider this love and act on His love toward you. “And the Word became flesh and pitched His tent among us.” – John 1:14, P4T
“Jesus answered Him, ‘If anyone does love Me, he will guard My Word, and My Father will love Him, and We will come to him and pitch our tent with Him.” – John 14:23, P4T
“For YAHWEH so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16, HRB
Thank you for sending the Messiah, your only begotten Son to be my Savior. I believe in Him and have made this belief the center of my life. Because of this, by faith I have everlasting life! Thank you! I repent of my sins and of my past, freely admitting that I have fallen short of Your righteousness. I look fully forward to you in my life and commit my life to You. Thank You YHWH, my Heavenly Father for setting me free in the name of your Son Yahshua [Jesus]. May it be as you have promised!
You will never enjoy true freedom through the Messiah and power of the Holy Spirit unless you read and absorb the Bible in prayer and trust. You will never know this freedom until you experience it for yourself. Get to know your Heavenly Father, His Son and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. The Holy Spirit is your teacher, your Holy Counselor that lives in you to help you learn about the truth of YHWH and His spiritual gifts.
Satan does not want you to have the excellence of YHWH in your life. People pray for protection and want to be taken care of, but often do little in growing close to Him. The world, your husband, your wife, your family, your government do not build your trust in YHWH or free you from spiritual bondage. Your church or your pastor cannot save you. Education, power and money will not free you, but only the Word of your Heavenly Father. Salvation is a daily walk, an act of love for yourself and for those around you, not a one-time event that centers only on you. Make the Word of YHWH your own, your very life!
YHWH is Yahweh, the covenant name of your Heavenly Father.
The name Yahshua [Y’shua] is an original language name for Jesus.
He is often referred to simply as the Messiah or Master.
