The Secret Deception of the Golden Rule

If you are familiar with Christianity, you’ve probably heard of the “Golden Rule”, generally stated as “do unto others as you would have others do unto you”. The Golden Rule has gained popularity as a humanistic philosophic device. It is even referred to as a universal ethic. In practice, the thought would seem to be “If people would just be nice to me, I could be nice to them.” In Matthew 5, Yahshua [Jesus] said that living in such a way was nothing special. (“Becoming Your Own God Through General Goodness?“; “Living in an Apostate World“; “Delusion & the Tightening Noose of the Beast System“)

“For if you love those loving you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax-collectors do the same?” – Matthew 5:46, NKJV

The big question is whether you can be kind to someone that has hurt you or hurts you. Can you love someone that has treated you poorly? You know this isn’t easy for most people. In fact, some people believe that the teaching of Yahshua [Jesus] is an extreme example, impossible to live up to. Yet, the wisdom of our Savior is the only practical way to live life. Why? “An eye for an eye” is a disaster. A chain reaction of violence solves nothing except for continuing the violence, followed by hatred and more violence. Someone must break the cycle. This is a deliberate decision that someone must make. Elohim [‘God’, YHWH] has already broken the cycle. Mankind has not broken the cycle because of the tragedy of self-deception and pride. Self-exaltation and self-idolatry must be eliminated and the perception of offense overlooked. Yahshua [Jesus] says that you and I are that “someone” that He is talking about. (“Real Love“; “Marriage: Wise Words Bring Healing“;  “The Antichrist & the War on Reality“; “Mind Filters“)

“So also the tongue is a little member, and boasts great things. Behold, how little a fire kindles how large a forest!” – James 3:5, NKJV

Mean-spirited behavior created more of the same and easily creates a larger explosive situation. Even worse, when you respond with ugliness, anger, and revenge, you hand control over to the other person, even to the authority of other men. Your build your own prison. The wisdom of Yahshua [Jesus] frees you from this strife-inducing situation and gives you peace of mind. By having nothing to do with domination, hatred or revenge, you establish self-control and righteousness, instead of trying to control someone else. (“The Truth About Anger“; “The Stronghold of Anger“; “Breaking the Hold of Stress“; “A Mind of Envy and Competition“)

In a close and personal situation, withdrawing or turning your back on the offending person might seem to be an effective solution. But, you cannot have a vacuum in your heart. This creates a dangerous vacuum in any working relationship. The vacuum is easily filled by hatred and resentment. Hatred and resentment contaminate your heart and keep your Heavenly Father out. Yahshua [Jesus] says that you must replace hatred with love. (“Forsaking Bitterness“; “Is Your Forgiveness Real?“; “Disciple: Love Instead of Conformity“)

“But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who despitefully use you.” – Luke 6:27-28, NKJV

To love those who mistreat you, and treating unkind people respectfully, is the strongest expression of Christian behavior. In this way you are able to overcome and rise above the situation. This righteous response makes you answerable for your behavior instead of the other person. You can blame someone else or justify yourself. Instead of reacting to circumstances in life that you cannot control, Yahshua [Jesus] wants His disciples to be answerable to the principles of YHWH. Disciples are to be answerable for personal behavior instead of making excuses and pointing to someone else. (“What is the Standard of Life Conduct in a Disciple of Messiah?“; “Secession of the Heart“)

“Therefore, if you, being evil, know to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in Heaven give good things to those that ask Him? Therefore, all things, whatever you desire that men should do to you, so also you should do to them; for this is the Law and the Prophets.” – Matthew 7:11-12, NKJV

The golden rule in Matthew 7:12, like forgiveness, is not conditional on the other person. Yahshua [Jesus] said that His disciples want to be kind to others because their Father is kind to His disciples. Yet, how many Christians try in the flesh to follow the golden rule, but utterly fail to grasp the importance of forgiveness. (“Discernment the World Doesn’t Have“)

“And expectation does not disappoint, because the love of Elohim has been poured out in our hearts by the Set-apart Spirit which was given to us.” – Romans 5:5, ISR98

“Therefore, as chosen ones of Elohim, set-apart and beloved, put on compassion, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, patience, bearing with one another, and forgiving each other if anyone has a complaint against another, indeed, as Messiah forgave you so also should you.” – Colossians 3:13, ISR98

Because you and I are forgiven much, we must genuinely forgive others that have deceived and betrayed us. Because of the rampant deception in the world, a person may not be personally aware of his or her deception. Forgiving is not simply a good idea, but a foundational principle for genuine disciples of Messiah. The failure to forgive ultimately results in a demonic stronghold in your life and can result in much personal harm to you, as well as your spiritual walk through the sacrifice of Messiah and the guidance of the Holy Spirit [Sanctified, Set Apart Spirit]. (“Which Shepherd Do You Believe?“; “Listening to the Holy Spirit“; “The Abomination That Causes Desolation“)

You are commanded to forgive and you are forgiven in return. Wherever a disciple fails the command to forgive, Elohim is unable to forgive in return or protect from that lack of forgiveness. In this way, you reap exactly what you sow. What is worse, the failure to forgive results in a double portion of demonic influence in your life, resulting in physical effects as well as moral and spiritual havoc. Forgiveness is simply that important to a disciple of Messiah. The issue of forgiveness will stand in the way of renewing your mind. It will destroy your life in Messiah and your continuing commitment in obedience to Elohim’s Word. Forgiveness is a vital element of the Golden Rule. (“The Unpardonable Sin“; “Foundation of Salvation“; “Spiritual Disease that Eats at Your Salvation“)

“For YHWH so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16, RNKJV
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending the Messiah, your only begotten Son to be my Savior. I believe in Him and have made this belief the center of my life. Because of this, by faith I have everlasting life! Thank you! I repent of my sins and of my past, freely admitting that I have fallen short of Your glory. I look fully forward to you in my life and commit my life to You. Thank You YHWH, my Heavenly Father for setting me free in the name of your Son Yahshua [Jesus]. Amen.
genuine-articleYou will never enjoy true freedom through the Messiah and power of the Holy Spirit unless you read and absorb the Bible in prayer and trust. You will never know this freedom until you experience it for yourself. Get to know your Heavenly Father, His Son and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. The Holy Spirit is your teacher, your Holy Counselor that lives in you to help you learn about the truth of YHWH and His spiritual gifts.
Satan does not want you to have the excellence of YHWH in your life. People pray for protection and want to be taken care of, but often do little in growing close to Him. The world, your husband, your wife, your family, your government do not build your trust in YHWH or free you from spiritual bondage. Your church or your pastor cannot save you. Education, power and money will not free you, but only the Word of your Heavenly Father. Salvation is a daily walk, an act of love for yourself and for those around you, not a one-time event that centers only on you. Make the Word of YHWH your own, your very life!
YHWH is Yahweh, the covenant name of your Heavenly Father.
The names Yahshua and Yahushua are original language names for Jesus,
He is often referred simply as the Messiah or Master.
