Hard as it is to believe, billions that claim Christianity as their faith aren’t really listening to ‘God’ [Elohim, YHWH]. It’s shocking, but true. The battle of dark kingdom of the world is for your mind and heart. This is a spiritual battle that you could very well lose if you aren’t willing to screen out distortion, distractions and deceptions.
by John and Ruth Greene
Untold multitudes that have named themselves as Christian are in fact nothing of the sort. (“Are You a Christian First or Last?“)
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” – John 14:6, NKJV
The truth of the Bible is set out and revealed through confirmation, context and agreement in scripture. Corruption and distortion of the true faith was a constant fight even among first century disciples. Two thousands years have passed since then and the corruption of Christianity has rampantly ruled as billions of professed ‘faithful’ have continually been deceived, oppressed and misled by traditions, philosophies and hurts of the past. The Word sets the standard where any professed Christian is concerned. (“Ongoing Corruption of Christianity“; “Third Century Corruption of Christianity“; “Millenniums of Human Exploitation“)
Religious traditions and philosophies are nothing new. While Yahshua [Jesus] was ministering, He had a daily battle against religious ideas, traditions and philosophies of man. In the eyes of the Romans and Jews of the day, Yahshua [Jesus] had lost the battle. The Sanhedrin, the Jewish religious order of the day, was rid of Yahshua [Jesus] soon enough through His death by crucifixion. Similar ends were designed on 11 of his 12 disciples in various situations, as well as first century disciples of the day. (“Leaven of the Pharisees; Leaven of the World“; “Filling Your Life with Truth Instead of Deception“)
The Bible writer revealed the situation:
“For I testify to them that they have zeal to YAHWEH, but not according to knowledge. For being ignorant of the righteousness of YAHWEH, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to the righteousness of YAHWEH.” – Romans 10:2-3, HRB
The religious opposition to Yahshua [Jesus] was destroyed in 70 AD when the Roman army took Jerusalem and destroyed the temple because of the attitude of the religious. There is little difference in our age. Enthusiasm exists in abundance in some areas, but Bible truth is dramatically distorted by the majority. The end will be little different based on judgment that the Bible outlines for Babylon the Great. (“Tribulation of Israel: The Great Escape“; “Is the Bible Losing Influence in the United States?“; “Disciple: The Bible & Higher Authority“)
So called theological reformations haven’t done the job as professed Christianity has continued to operate within flawed beliefs while adopting new popular philosophies of men. In recent years, humanism and religious tradition have had the combined effect of chilling the pursuit of Bible truth. Anyone that endeavors to follow or seek the truth laid out in scripture is often branded as a heretic, often ridiculed and publicly persecuted. (Matthew 7:7-8; “Deceptions of Ages: How People are Deceived“; “Consenting to Fables of Men“)
The fact remains that some details of Bible truth aren’t revealed in the latest English Bible translation. Bible truth is accurately discerned through the original language in scripture. With the advent of computers, online programs and free Bible software, there is little excuse for any Christian to suffer ignorance due a lack of knowledge. Never has the ability to do so been so easy. Are you willing to take the time or care to do so?
Religion continues to set itself above scripture by dictate. Religious thinking seeks to define a Christian according to standards of philosophy and ideas of man by defending their ideals over scripture. Many continue to dispute the need to truly know what the Bible really says. Religious philosophy is generally held to be the ultimate standard based on past meetings of scholars and philosophers based on agreement among those with their own agendas. Someone else always knows or has known the truth and religion says that you should follow them. The problem is that each religious philosophy holds itself as superior over every other. Who are you to believe? (“The Role of Authority in Your Life“; “Authority: The Real Meaning of Romans 13“; “Which Shepherd Do You Believe?“)
Generations of the past have convinced themselves that they have known Elohim’s Will and were operating fully in that Will. Undoubtedly, some individuals were seeking YHWH with all diligence and will be rewarded. According to scripture, those have been the few. (Matthew 7:13) Any that have pursued the truth in the last 2000 years have usually discovered all nature of persecution and trials. The same is apparent today. (“How YHWH Marks His People“)
“But know this, that in the last days disastrous times will be upon us. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, braggarts, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked, without natural feeling, addicted to lust, slanderers, without self-control, savage, haters of good, traitors, hasty, boasters, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of Elohim, having a form of righteousness, but denying the power of it; even turn away from these.” – 2 Timothy 3:1-5, HRB
Yahshua [Jesus] weighed in on matter:
“And as He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, ‘Tell us, when will these things be? And, what is the sign of Your coming and of the end of the age?’ And answering, Yahshua said to them, ‘See that no man deceives you.’” – Matthew 24:3-4, HRB
This deception has been in process since the first century through persecution, deception and oppression along with the evolution of the Roman Empire and False Prophet that continues uninterrupted to this day. History makes the case eloquently and the results are clear to see today. What most of professed Christianity has lost sight of is the need for accurate Bible truth. Multitudes have bought off on the idea that there are many ways to ‘God’, counting fully on His mercy despite their deliberate disobedience. This is counter to the words of Yahshua [Jesus], “…I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6, HRB) Salvation is found only in Messiah. Nowhere in scripture does the Bible indicate that anyone can be outside of the Savior and expect salvation. Outside of salvation, eternal separation from YHWH and complete destruction is inevitable. (“The False Shepherd and the True Shepherd“; “Are You Running Away from Messiah?“; “Foundation of Salvation“)
Messiah gave His people new purpose and new Christian attributes.
“…and He [Messiah] died for all, that the living ones may live no more to themselves, but to the One having died for them and having been raised. So as we now know no one according to flesh, but even if we have known Messiah according to flesh, yet now we no longer know Him so. So that if anyone is in Messiah, he is a new creation; the old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new!” – 2 Corinthians 5:15-17, HRB
A disciple is an individual that is set apart to Elohim, a person that actually lives for Messiah and resides in the Holy Spirit [Sanctified, Set Apart Spirit], not one that thinks or simply says so. The indwelling of Messiah through the Holy Spirit is not a one way proposition or an automatic event. Abiding requires obedience and a measure of effort. A Christian is not a mindless wannabe or a fan club. (“Called to Have Confidence in Messiah“; “YHWH First: Your Life Is Your Testimony“; “Break Down Walls of Darkness with Prayer“)
Baptism is an outside indicator to the world and to self, along with personal conduct, that you are a true disciple of Messiah. That conduct and attitude is part of the indwelling of the Spirit. However, the act of physical baptism itself can mean little in reality. Baptism is not a free pass into Elohim’s Kingdom, only into man’s religion. Baptism is a beginning rather than the end of a spiritual journey. Many denominations teach that only a vague measure of belief or general faith is needed to be a Christian. Others teach that baptism and belief are needed. Visible spiritual fruit or obedience is often overlooked or neglected altogether, replaced with denominational or church rules as a matter of expedience. Knowledge of the Bible is needed. If someone else has done the work for you with little effort on your part, you are in great danger. A body of people can believe anything they wish. Belief and lively preaching does not make teaching or knowledge true. Christianity is not as simple as flying a flag, banner or holding a cross. (“The Real Power Behind Baptism“)
Faith without works is dead.
“But are you willing to know, O vain man, that faith apart from deeds is dead? Was not our father Abraham justified by his deeds, offering up his son Isaac on the altar? You see how faith helped with his deeds; and how by his deeds the faith was made perfect. And the Scripture was fulfilled, saying, ‘And Abraham believed YAHWEH, and it was counted for righteousness to him;’ and he was called, ‘Friend of YAHWEH.’ You see then, how a man by his deeds becomes righteous, and not by faith only. But in the same way Rahab the harlot was also justified by her deeds, having received the messengers, and sending them out by another way. For as the body is dead apart from the spirit, so also faith without deeds is dead.” – James 2:20-26, HRB
This scripture is also evidence that legalism is no better. Legalism would have determined that faith of Abraham and Rahab was of little value because it did not follow a prescription of rules that brought about and strictly governed their faith, usually in comparison to others. Legalism doesn’t truly seek truth, but man-made rules. What governs your faith? The only safe answer can be scripture rather than denominational or man-made religious rules.
Without question, man is brought to salvation and brought closer to Elohim, in time developing a relationship with Him. The initial step of faith is required; actually believing and trusting what is discovered. What Biblical faith is and how that faith relates to Elohim is obviously in question in the halls of Christianity. What encompasses faith? The indication is that everyone has the potential for faith as Yahshua [Jesus] illustrated in what is known as “the parable of the sower”. (Matthew 13) The heart condition is what makes faith prosper or wither. (“The Struggle for Purity of Heart“; “Understanding Sin“; “Choosing to Serve YHWH, Not Man“)
“For hardened is the heart of this people, and with their ears they were hard of hearing, and their eyes are blinded that they should not see with their eyes and hear with their ears and should understand in their heart and return [turn aside, repent] and I heal them.” – Matthew 13:15, HRB
Moreover, faith expresses itself through some measure of love. (Galatians 5:6; “Real Love“)
Personal heart condition nor the plight of mankind is simply about “more faith” but rather about repentance, forgiveness, sincerity, emotions: the foundational condition of the heart. Is deception taking place in the process? If you can’t answer the question, signing up to be a casual Christian is hardly the solution. Are you looking at years of tradition and the higher learning of man or scripture? The spiritual heart condition of the Christian is vital as well as the attitude of the individual. Do you seek the truth or care about a divine relationship beyond the promise of heaven or freedom from pain? (Psalm 59:16; John 8:32) Do you care about or seek a greater purpose? Do you look to your Heavenly Father to supply that purpose? Life strongholds can and will be used by Satan and those under his influence to destroy and contaminate faith by any means possible, including the use of philosophies, traditions and religious ideas not directly supported by scripture. (“Your Purpose in the Body of Messiah“; “Strongholds & the Armor of YHWH“; “Spiritual Disease that Eats at Your Salvation“)
“But thanks be to YAHWEH that you were slaves of sin, but you obeyed from the heart the form of doctrine to which you were delivered.” – Romans 6:17, HRB
The indication by the Apostle Paul is that obedience to accurate Biblical knowledge is what removes slavery to sin and begins the road to freedom through Yahshua [Jesus]. (John 3:21) Baptism is a symbol of obedience and Christian conduct is a sign of repentance and obedience to the Word. This cannot be substituted by church attendance and monetary contributions. You cannot be delivered from the world while knowingly rejecting what the Bible really says. (Titus 1:14; Romans 2:8; Colossians 1:21; Romans 5:10; Ephesians 2:3-12) Spiritual ignorance is not likely to be a valid excuse before YHWH, especially when ignorance is willful. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5) Do you say that your personal ignorance is not willful? You cannot because the truth or some measure of it has already been presented to you in a way that you can understand. You must face your personal heart condition. (“Refining Your Heart“; “Secession of the Heart“; “Single-minded Commitment in Face of Trauma“)
The disciple of Messiah cannot count on other men, but only on Elohim for personal deliverance. The Bible commends us for gathering in groups to share our faith. (Matthew 18:20; Acts 6, 20; 1 Timothy 6) People will not be saved as groups, but only as individuals. (1 Corinthians 9:24) This knowledge and personal relationship is not the sole responsibility of an elder, (Acts 20:17, 28; Titus 1:5, 7) pastor or a man that professes to be a bishop, reverend or father, nor a scholar of professed higher learning. (Ephesians 4:11; 1 Peter 5:1; Hebrews 13:7, 17; Matthew 23:8-12; “Trust YHWH, Not World Leaders“; “Roots of Salvation“)
Accurate knowledge is a personal responsibility as you walk with Elohim. (Colossians 1:9; Ephesians 1:16-17; Philippians 1:9; Hosea 4:6; Isaiah 13:11; John 4:24; 1 John 2:4; Isaiah 5:13) You bear the marks of a disciple of Messiah or you don’t. All people are part of a spiritual war. (Romans 6; Matthew 4:1-11) Which side will you choose? (Ephesians 6:10-18; “How YHWH Marks His People“)
Humanism and philosophy has changed modern thinking. Religious thinking has changed. This thinking supposes that all men, no matter what their faith are saved through faith alone, the idea that we are all going to the same place. (James 4:4; 2 Peter 3:7, 11-14) Others say you must be Christian, but prove false to the power of the ‘God’ they claim to serve. (1 John 2:15-17; 1 Peter 2:11) May you not be one of these! (Deuteronomy 30:19) Choose life. If you need help, get help. Don’t put the importance of your spiritual life off. (“The Great Beast Seduction“; “The Empire Under the Beast“; “Culture: Prompting Falsehood Through the Lie“; “The Modern Life Culture Crisis“)
