The Stronghold of Anger

by John and Ruth Greene

anger and rageIn the imperfect world that we live in, anger commonly finds a way into life. The raging fire of anger that continues as a theme in your life is evidence of a dangerous spiritual heart condition. A quick temper can be like a fire out of control. It burns you and everyone else in its path. (Proverbs 14:29; 16:32; 18:1) Anger divides and separates, one of the goals of Satan. Anger pushes people into rushed decisions that create strongholds like guilt, shame and bitterness. These are nothing less than principalities or demonic footholds in your personal lifestyle. (2 Corinthians 10:3-6) You then begin to repeat behaviors over and over so that those behaviors become conditioned in you and the foothold becomes a stronghold. A stronghold that is firmly entrenched becomes a lifestyle. (“Strongholds & the Armor of YHWH“; “Pursue Righteousness“; “YHWH’s Track of Righteousness“)

When you feel yourself getting angry look for the cause. However, sometimes, the cause may not be so obvious. (Proverbs 16:2; 17:11) Why? As humans, we tend to cover things up in layers, like soil that builds up over the years. (Proverbs 14:16, 29; 15:1,2,4,18) The roots of the spiritual stronghold that you are suffering from can run deep. Often the cause of many episodes of anger originates soundly in the spirit of fear. Fear masquerades itself in many ways that alter your life forever, often grounded in childhood, nearly always grounded in traumatic events in your life. The mixture of trauma and fear further cements anger making worldly demonic strongholds a fortress in your life and lifestyle. This stronghold results in predatory controlling behaviors and manipulation that corrupt and destroy on all sides. (“The Truth About Anger“; “Life in Messiah & Taming Your Thoughts“; “Attitude and the Disciple of Messiah“)

prayerWhat can you do? For a start, pray that your Heavenly Father will help you control your anger and help you to focus your feelings into effective and constructive results. Ask YHWH to help you to conquer selfish anger through humility and repentance. (Nahum 1:7; Psalm 37:39) Consider that you may be exhibiting distorted thinking, which compounds the error of your anger. Forgive those that you were angered by and forgive yourself. (“Is Your Forgiveness Real?“; “Spiritual Disease that Eats at Your Salvation“)

Accurate knowledge from the Bible is the key to casting aside those negative demonic strongholds that have taken you captive. YHWH’s people are destroyed by a lack of knowledge. (Hosea 4:6) Learning the truth of the Bible that much of mainstream Christianity won’t touch is the beginning to rooting out the control and influence of Satan as you begin the rebuild the new man in Messiah that you can become. You also need YHWH’s Holy Spirit [Sanctified, Set Apart Spirit] as your Counselor. How many Christians know that or how that happens? (Proverbs 15:29; 16:20) Pray, read and learn. (Proverbs 15:32) Let YHWH touch your heart.  (2 Timothy 2:19) That is the beginning of life healing. (“Mind Control of the Beast“; “Breaking the Hold of Stress“)

family strife stressIn the meantime, have you tried to argue in a whisper? It is just as hard to argue with someone that answers gently. A rising voice and harsh words easily trigger an angry response. To raise your voice without taking a second thought is clearly a stronghold that you don’t need. Instead, turn away wrath and seek peace with gentle words. The decision is yours! (Proverbs 15:1-2)

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending the Messiah, your only begotten Son to be my Savior. I believe in Him and have made this belief the center of my life. Because of this, by faith I have everlasting life! Thank you! I repent of my sins and of my past, freely admitting that I have fallen short of Your glory. I look fully forward to you in my life and commit my life to You. Thank You YHWH, my Heavenly Father for setting me free in the name of your Son Yahshua [Jesus]. Amen.
genuine-articleYou will never enjoy true freedom through the Messiah and power of the Holy Spirit unless you read and absorb the Bible in prayer and trust. You will never know this freedom until you experience it for yourself. Get to know your Heavenly Father, His Son and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. The Holy Spirit is your teacher, your Holy Counselor that lives in you to help you learn about the truth of YHWH and His spiritual gifts.
Satan does not want you to have the excellence of YHWH in your life. People pray for protection and want to be taken care of, but often do little in growing close to Him. The world, your husband, your wife, your family, your government do not build your trust in YHWH or free you from spiritual bondage. Your church or your pastor cannot save you. Education, power and money will not free you, but only the Word of your Heavenly Father. Salvation is a daily walk, an act of love for yourself and for those around you, not a one-time event that centers only on you. Make the Word of YHWH your own, your very life!
YHWH is Yahweh, the covenant name of your Heavenly Father.
The names Yahshua and Yahushua are original language names for Jesus,
He is often referred simply as the Messiah or Master.
