In today’s world, Christianity is full of envy and doesn’t recognize that cruel fact. If someone exercises a certain talent or gift, then someone else is often quick to criticize or attempt to squash that ability. If someone expresses their trust in Elohim [‘God’] differently, they are subject to criticism and comparisons. Those that accuse may not admit to doing so, but often accuse others of doing what they do. This is proof of a blind spiritual condition, a condition rooted in boastful bitterness. (“Political Interfaith Envy“; “Messiah & the Tool of Envy“)
For example, many claim what they know as the Word of the Messiah. Instead they rail against the talents and gifts of others because they didn’t do it first or don’t feel comfortable with the talents and gifts of others. The faith of others might not meet a personal test of logic or reason. Instead of lifting up YHWH, those with “logical minds” choose to lift up the world or denigrate what is given freely and willingly to YHWH. People often become angry out of a competitive spirit of envy. Faith becomes a race to better the opponent. These same folks can be very sly by voicing certain conditions and expectations against you or others. Those that hold this brand of envy would prefer that you be down and disappointed. An intense need for superiority and control exists that holds the envious captive, often at great cost to someone else. Even so, the largest cost is held by those that harbor envy, a bitter root of corruption. This is exactly the attitude that the Pharisees of the first century held.
“While some of them only proclaim Messiah because of envy and strife, others preach Messiah because of good will and love.” – Philippians 1:15, HRB
How interesting that Messiah is not consumed with concern about how a person discovers YHWH’s Word. He said that the Word would be preached to all the world. The knowledge of Elohim and the heart condition of the newly found disciple of Messiah could then take root as discernment and an active search for accurate truth takes hold. A disciple makes the truth his or her own by living it. How do you personally respond to spiritual matters as you live your life? Does the envy of others catch your attention or have you adopted such attitudes for yourself?
“If anyone teaches differently, and does not consent to sound words, those of our Master Yahshua Messiah and to the doctrine of the fear of YAHWEH, he is proud understanding nothing, but harps upon the use of a word concerning doubts and arguments, and this is the cause of envy and controversy, evil-speaking, evil suspicions, meddling, of men whose mind has been corrupted and deprived of the truth, who think that worshiping of Elohim is for worldly gain. Keep away from such people.” – 1 Timothy 6:3-5, HRB
Do you retort or quarrel? You certainly aren’t admonished to do this in scripture. Are you lifting YHWH up or dragging others through the mud to suit yourself? Are you or your favorite pastor competing with others? People that are envious revel in malice because of their competitive spirit.
“For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, led astray, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in evil and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and the love of Elohim our Saviour toward man appeared, He saved us, not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to His compassion, through the washing of rebirth, and renewal by the Set-apart Spirit, which He poured out on us richly through Yahshua Messiah our Savior” – Titus 3:3-6, ISR98
“Who is wise and knowing among you? Let him prove his works by his good behavior, in meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and contention in your heart, do not boast and lie against the truth. This is not the wisdom coming down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and devilish. For where jealousy and contention are, there is confusion and every foul deed. But the wisdom from above is firstly truly perfect, then peaceable, gentle, obedient, full of mercy and of good fruits, not partial and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace for the ones making peace.” – James 3:13-18, HRB
“Wherefore lay aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil accusations, as newborn babes desire the word as pure spiritual milk, that you may grow to salvation by it; if you ‘tasted and found out that our Master is good;'” – 1 Peter 2:1-3, HRB
Don’t forget that Peter was talking to a young congregation that needed purity of heart. (Psalm 34:8) They were babies in their belief, sorely needing to rid themselves of the ways of the world of man [kosmos]. Perhaps your walk of trust in YHWH is not yet mature. Persons that you may depend on in your faith may exhibit spiritual immaturity, setting a poor example for you. You need to grow in salvation or risk losing salvation through stagnation. Remember that when you do not stand for your Heavenly Father, you stand for Satan. Satan is eager to get his hooks into you through demonic footholds which grow into strongholds. Don’t forget that the spirit of the world has infiltrated Christianity, but you don’t have to be a hapless victim by clinging to others that don’t hold ‘righteous attitudes’ as important. (Galatians 5:22-25)
In the case of envy, when you constantly seek to build yourself up, you do so at the expense of others and make yourself an idol above YHWH. That is exactly the strife that the dark kingdom of the antichrist is made of. That kind of thinking is not from the Kingdom of Elohim. (Genesis 37:6-11; “The Antichrist & the War on Reality“)
The world’s definition of prosperity dulls spiritual sensitivity. So many Christians have been led to believe they will experience only the goodness of YHWH as they enjoy prosperity the world’s way. The dark kingdom has other ideas in mind for you. (Matthew 5:10-12; John 15:18-20; Romans 8:35-39; 2 Corinthians 4:8-11; 2 Timothy 3:12; 1 Peter 4:12-14, 16) A battle exists for your heart, your soul, your mind! What mind do you have? (Deuteronomy 6:10-13)
Do you possess the mind of Messiah or the mind of the dark kingdom? Every disciple of Messiah needs to function effectively by building up YHWH’s Kingdom and spreading His truth. (Exodus 40:17-33; 1 Chronicles 9:10-11; Nehemiah 3:1) YHWH seeks your heart in the matter, but will you follow? YHWH’s body of disciples is not a place of disorder and strife and neither are the lives of disciples. Instead, we are to abide in the Father and avoid those that revel in strife and anger.
Not all that profess Christianity are real. Remember the wheat and the tares. (Matthew 13) The words of Yahshua [Jesus] in parable echo soundly:
“Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’ “
Right now, you and I can witness the workings of both kingdoms side-by-side. YHWH wants you and all of history to see the results of living apart from Him. To discern this requires the Holy Spirit [Sanctified, Set Apart Spirit] which you may not have experienced before. You may have never heard that you need to be set apart to your Father. Yahshua [Jesus] mandates that His disciples must have the discernment to distinguish between counterfeit and reality. (Matthew 24; “YHWH’s Threshing Floor“; “Knowing Where You Stand on YHWH’s Threshing Floor“; “The Wheels of Ezekiel“)
The growth of the tares is happening even now as the gospel is being spread to all groups and ethnicities of people around the world. This parable can be applied to the world of religious look-a-likes as well. Religious tares may have grown that do not reflect Elohim’s Word. When the disciples raised an objection about a man that was healing in the Name of Yahshua [Jesus] apart from them, He told the disciples to let that man be. YHWH will lead hearts of those that seek Him, even if initially in error, in the right direction to abide with Him. The evidence of this is clear in countries where persecution is rampant. Disciples find YHWH and come to abide in Him in Spirit and in truth. YHWH judges you and I based on a real heart condition, not based on religious tradition. Surely, you can see the need for accurate knowledge! The truth remains that whether most care to admit the truth, the truth is often fully known, but rejected because of the influence of the dark kingdom.
Why? We are not automatically included in YHWH’s kingdom. In a spiritual sense, all men, women and children start out in Satan’s kingdom with the need to be transferred into Messiah’s kingdom (Colossians 1:13-14). People are not born into YHWH’s family or through osmosis. As sinners, we are born alienated and orphaned from the Father. All need to be adopted into His family by recognizing and obeying the Messiah. (John 1:12).
“You believe that Elohim is one. You do well. The demons also believe – and shudder!” – James 2:19, ISR98
The bottom line is that the “tares” don’t seek cleansing or restoration in their life through the Holy Spirit. They seek their own way, through the way of the world, Satan’s kingdom. They may seek a counterfeit and because of their hardened heart never find YHWH’s truth because they aren’t looking. So many seek to harbor a spirit of competition to justify themselves as they long for affirmation. As a part of the dark kingdom, they will take the affirmation they seek any way they can get it, even if they must create that affirmation themselves. This is exactly the opposite of scripture:
“By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.” – 1 Corinthians 15:2, NKJV
By what means are YHWH’s people saved? Only through accurate knowledge, holding firmly to the accurate teaching of Messiah and making it your own in your heart. How do you resolve conflict in your heart? You resolve conflict and faith through the cornerstone of righteous trust, Yahshua [Jesus] the Messiah. “Because of this I say to you, The kingdom of YAHWEH will be taken from you, and it will be given to a people who produce fruits. And he who falls on this Stone will be broken; but on whomever It falls, It will destroy him.” – Matthew 21:43-44 (Luke 4:16, 33)
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” – Ezekiel 36:26, NKJV
Motives or purity of heart are everything to Elohim and happily, He is the judge. There is no better judge than YHWH, Elohim of Hosts. He knows the inner workings of the heart, your heart. That is an important part of your relationship. Honesty.
“Create in me a clean heart, O Elohim; and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” – Psalm 51:10, HRB
Faith has evidence, both in conduct and compassion, especially for brothers and sisters in Messiah. This is not a humanitarian message, but a message of shared trust, compassion and active caring for brother and sisters of like faith.
“My brothers, what use is it for anyone to say he has belief but does not have works? This belief is unable to save him. And if a brother or sister is naked and in need of daily food, but one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” but you do not give them the bodily needs, what use is it?” – James 2:14-16, ISR98
In Moses day, the nation of Israel as individuals had a choice to make. A whole new generation had a chance to grasp life, but most did not. Most took hold of the counterfeit or dulled their hearts through rejection of Elohim’s love and provision, which brought the curses of the dark kingdom to rest. Which kingdom do you belong to? The choice is yours until the moment of Messiah’s return. Thereafter, the choice will be made for you.
“This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.” – Deuteronomy 30:19, NKJV
Even as loyal as Moses often was in leading the nation of Israel, he did not get to see the Promised Land. Of the original generation that left Egypt, only two were able to see the new land. For the rest of that generation of the nation, it meant an early death sentence because of lack of trust and hypocrisy. Yahshua [Jesus] admonishes His people:
“Enter in through the narrow gate. Because wide is the gate and spacious the road, put to death through destruction, and many, by their reason, agree to enter. For narrow is the gate and troublesome is the road, the one that leads to life, and few agree to obtain it.” – Matthew 7:13-14, direct translation
This applies to disciples right now. You must walk with the knowledge that you are likely to be few in company as only a few actually find YHWH’s Kingdom. With this knowledge comes the need to avoid the wide road that leads to destruction. Following a denomination or a man is not a sure way in life to receive the favor of the Most High! In fact, the opposite is true. (“Strongholds & the Armor of YHWH“; “Breaking Strongholds of False Authority“)
You can’t depend on your favorite preacher to lead the way. You need more, much more. You must own your own faith and live it with the help of YHWH’s Spirit. Billions that claim the Messiah today live on that wide road. The choice is yours. You can choose to walk in strongholds of the dark kingdom or to walk in the strongholds of YHWH’s Kingdom. There is no real middle ground except vanity and imaginations of the dark kingdom.
“Because we walk in the flesh, we do not serve according to the flesh. For the tools of our service in warfare are not fleshly, but powerful through Elohim to the destruction of strongholds. Destroy imaginations and all high places that are exalted over the knowledge of Elohim and make captive every mind to obedience of the Messiah.” – 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, direct translation
