Disciple in Messiah: You are a Spiritual Watchman

by John and Ruth Greene

nashville-flood-1aYou may feel perfectly fine about your life today, but then again, you may be searching for a better life. Even ‘the best of us’ have problems in an imperfect world. Yet, Christians can expect better because they have the tools for righteousness, YHWH’s prosperity in relationship to the rest of the world, if they will only use those tools. He has made many promises to His children. Are you one of them? Why do so many feel isolated and alone? Why are so many broken and bruised by the world? Do you have a hand in the matter? Join us as we discuss this important matter.

Certainly, the entire world is broken and bruised, victimized by behaviors of the past. When YHWH brought us to Nashville in ministry, we had no idea about the great flood of spiritual need, the immensity of profoundly broken and bruised people. Unlike a real flood, as happened in the recent Nashville flood, the spiritual need is real, but largely unrecognized. What we have really discovered is that very few, especially among the more religious of society, want to hear anything beyond what they know as their own narrow religious traditions, regardless of their life situation. Everyone thinks that they are right as they shut off any dialogue in their mind. In the midst of what many consider to be the Bible Belt, people stubbornly cling to old ideas that continue to destroy their lives, including the spiraling collateral damage that results in their own lives and in the lives of their families. They have taken the yoke of the world and called it the yoke of ‘God.’ They practice a genetically-altered Christianity, rooted in pride and traditions that think of spiritual poverty as prosperity. This reality is nothing new, but a real problem that the Bible warns about. (“Consenting to Fables of Men“; “Filling Your Life with Truth Instead of Deception“; “Mind Filters“)

All you beasts of the field, come to devour, all you beasts in the forest. His watchmen are blind, they are all ignorant; they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yes, they are greedy dogs which never have enough. And they are shepherds who cannot understand; they all look to their own way, every one for his own gain, from his own territory. ‘Come,’ one says, ‘I will bring wine, and we will fill ourselves with intoxicating drink; Tomorrow will be as today, and much more abundant.’” – Isaiah 56:9-12, NKJV

roaring-lionThe beasts of the field have overrun the world, spreading spiritual ignorance and corruption everywhere. The beasts have outcast the righteous and oppress them, polluting their faith over time. History reveals this truth to this day. We now live in a world that has resulted in thousands of years of spiritual scattering and distraction. The attitude of the world is for everyone propagating his own opinion, advancing his own politics, raising his own family and having everything the way he likes it in his own mind, while spiritual concerns are neglected and postponed. Like the original offenders against YHWH, they choose to harden their hearts to His message. (“Delusion & the Tightening Noose of the Beast System“; “YHWH’s Threshing Floor“; “Building a Counterfeit Kingdom“)

Genuine disciples cannot ignore the details of the message that YHWH has for us to learn. Many that call themselves Christian, even among the leadership, do not present or are not aware the mindset that is setting up most of the world for eternal destruction. The message of Isaiah is about discipleship and leadership, topics that must provoke you to both thought and action, regardless of how you may feel about your status in the world today! (“Leadership & Highly Effective People“; “Trust YHWH, Not World Leaders“; “The Image & Mark of the Beast System“)

walking into the desertThis prophecy speaks about the general condition of YHWH’s people and the condition of the world. Earlier in Isaiah 56, the Jews were forewarned about refusing to honor the Sabbath and refusing to abide in YHWH by holding fast to His instruction. Just as the nation of Israel was led astray, YHWH’s covenant people are subject to being led astray. The advice of Isaiah in this passage is very specific and telling, not simply retelling about spiritual rebels and injustice within YHWH’s people thousands of years ago. (“What is the Sabbath?“; “Bible Prophecy and the Rise of the Corporation“)

Isaiah reminds the intent reader that ‘beasts of the field’ will ‘come to devour, just as Satan roams about like a roaring lion, seeking anyone that he can devour. (1 Peter 5:8) Satan seeks to consume the ignorant and weak in faith through the wiles of the world. Satan is defeated where YHWH is concerned, but this does not suggest that Satan’s influence is without power. Satan will destroy you if he can. (“Overcoming Satanic Attack“)

bible-light-2The dark kingdom of Satan and his agents seek control and influence, to gradually whittle away at the Word of Elhim in your heart, if YHWH’s Word already rules there. The Word of YHWH isn’t absorbed like a sponge, but you have to put His knowledge in your mind so that it can grow in your heart. An overall ignorance about truly spiritual behavior, motivation and lack of knowledge allows Satan to decimate those that claim to love YHWH’s Kingdom. Even worse, multitudes of Christians have forgotten or deny outright the power of the Holy Spirit [Sanctified, Set Apart Spirit]. Because of this, the Holy Spirit does not live in them or operate as their Divine Counselor. (“The Real Power Behind Baptism“; “Listening to the Holy Spirit“; “Destruction Is Satan’s Intent“)

Even among YHWH’s tireless and faithful, Satan and the conditioned behavior of the world seeks to subvert faith while keeping YHWH’s people scattered and alone. Even worse, huge multitudes of the very leaders that profess the Messiah lack the discernment required to be a shepherd. They lack love for others and focus on self. They are interested only in their own gain. (Ezekiel 34; “Which Shepherd Do You Believe?“; “The False Shepherd and the True Shepherd“)

“According as it has been written, ‘There is none righteous, not even one! There is not one understanding; there is not one seeking YAHWEH. All turned away, they became worthless together, not one is doing goodness, not so much as one! Their throat is a tomb being opened; they used deceit with their tongues; the poison of asps is under their lips; whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.’” – Romans 3:10-14, HRB

“YAHWEH looked down from Heaven on the sons of mankind, to see if there were any discerning and seeking Elohim: they have all turned aside; together they have become filthy; there is none doing good, not even one!Have all doers of iniquity not known, eating My people as they eat bread? They have not called on YAHWEH.” – Psalm 14:2-4, HRB

Clearly, the discouraging news is not that every disciple does not seek after YHWH or the teachings of Messiah. The bad news is that so many do not. It is corruption and apathy that Christians must avoid. The truth of the matter is that pastors and leaders may attempt to provide leadership, but each disciple is answerable to provide his or her own leadership in Christ, which is provided through a renewed heart and the work of the Holy Spirit. (Book of Acts 2 and 10) There is no substitute for discipleship or leadership in Christ. Disciples are all called to be leaders for the cause of Christ. (“Christians: Focused on the Messiah & His Purpose“; “Truth About the Modern Concept of Pastor“; “What Is Washing By The Word?“)

baby-ChristianThe sad news is that so many baby Christians stay exactly as they are, supporting ministers that merely use them for their own purposes. In this way, the ways of the world keep huge numbers of professed Christians captive and deceived. The work of YHWH is disrupted while “church bodies” remain lukewarm and comfortable with themselves, as well as the world within them. (Revelation 3:14-22) Hot water is used for mixing medicine, steam inhalation and healthful soups. Cold water is used to quench thirst and to renew strength. Lukewarm water isn’t used for much of anything. Hot Christians are useful for the healing and nourishing of others. Cold Christians renew and refresh others engaged in spiritual battle. Lukewarm “do-nothing” followers are the ones that the Almighty will spit out. These professed disciples never grow to live or understand their purpose, or the need to abide in Holy Spirit. As a result, they are cast into destruction. (Matthew 8:11-12; 13:41-42; 22:12-13; 24:50-51; 25:29-30; Luke 13:27-18; “Are You a Christian First or Last?“; “Disciple of Messiah: Wavering Between Two Opinions“; “Do You Give Leftovers to Messiah?“)

“Thus shall it be at the end of the age: the messengers shall come forth, and separate the wicked out of the midst of the righteous,  and shall throw them into the furnace of fire – there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” – Matthew 13:49-50, ISR98

The drunken fervor of so much of today’s Christian leadership, (1 Corinthians 8:9-13) both over ‘the church’ and within the professed disciple, is comparable to the Great Harlot in Revelation. (Revelation 17) A disciple of Messiah does not want to fill himself with the teachings of Babylon the Great and false religious thought, but with the knowledge of Messiah and real Bible instruction through personal study and understanding. Certainly, you do not wish to join those that are drunk with the blood of the saints! YHWH’s people are described as His saints. This struggle, in fact, is the main thrust of the spiritual battle that is faced right now: the deception in separating the world from the Kingdom of Heaven. (“Knowing Where You Stand on YHWH’s Threshing Floor“; “Discernment the World Doesn’t Have“; “Strongholds & the Armor of YHWH“)

alone-300x198The truth remains that each and every disciple of Messiah must be an active participant in spreading the righteousness of YHWH’s truth. (Matthew 24) This isn’t designed to be a command, a huge impossible task. Your faith renews your life. Your witness and love flows from your heart. Your active Christian witness is what fulfills Bible prophecy. Your lifestyle and new man in Messiah touches others! YHWH is where you put your faith. The evidence in your life is based on your belief! Yahshua [Jesus] triumphs over all manner of sin, over all obstacles, both seen and unseen. This doesn’t happen though personal effort and good works. Faithful disciples enter this reality through the power of the Holy Spirit. (“Holy Spirit 101“; “Your Purpose in the Body of Messiah“; “Understanding Sin“)

“But in the same way, the Spirit also helps our frailty, for we have not known what to pray to Elohim for, according to what is necessary. To the contrary, the Spirit Himself makes intercession for our sake, with groaning that cannot be uttered, now searching the heart, having known what is in the mind of the spirit, concerning making intercession for the sanctified in the manner of Elohim.” – Romans 8:26-27, direct translation

holy spiritEach and every disciple that listens to and allows YHWH’s help to grow spiritually will have the Holy Spirit as Divine Counselor. He teaches you to hear and abide in righteousness. He teaches you how to pray. He teaches you how to bring Elohim’s promises into your life. Elohim has miracles in store for your life, if you are willing listen and to abide in Him. Make the choice, fill your heart with YHWH’s Word and change the world! (“The Promise of the Holy Spirit“; “Are You Rejecting YHWH’s Holy Spirit?“)

“For YHWH so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16, RNKJV
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending the Messiah, your only begotten Son to be my Savior. I believe in Him and have made this belief the center of my life. Because of this, by faith I have everlasting life! Thank you! I repent of my sins and of my past, freely admitting that I have fallen short of Your glory. I look fully forward to you in my life and commit my life to You. Thank You YHWH, my Heavenly Father for setting me free in the name of your Son Yahshua [Jesus]. Amen.
genuine-articleYou will never enjoy true freedom through the Messiah and power of the Holy Spirit unless you read and absorb the Bible in prayer and trust. You will never know this freedom until you experience it for yourself. Get to know your Heavenly Father, His Son and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. The Holy Spirit is your teacher, your Holy Counselor that lives in you to help you learn about the truth of YHWH and His spiritual gifts.
Satan does not want you to have the excellence of YHWH in your life. People pray for protection and want to be taken care of, but often do little in growing close to Him. The world, your husband, your wife, your family, your government do not build your trust in YHWH or free you from spiritual bondage. Your church or your pastor cannot save you. Education, power and money will not free you, but only the Word of your Heavenly Father. Salvation is a daily walk, an act of love for yourself and for those around you, not a one-time event that centers only on you. Make the Word of YHWH your own, your very life!
YHWH is Yahweh, the covenant name of your Heavenly Father.
The names Yahshua and Yahushua are original language names for Jesus,
He is often referred simply as the Messiah or Master.
