While we (the authors of this article) prefer to focus on refining the salvation and promises of truth that must be immediately in front of us as disciples of the Messiah, we cannot ignore Bible prophecy and the importance these prophecies in these times. The world system as we know it is in the final days. We cannot placate ourselves or anyone else that wish to dwell on the positive, earthly aspects of life in the here and now. After all, there is little use on focusing on health, wellness and selfish pursuits now if we ignore the spiritual and eternal where YHWH is concerned through Yahshua [Jesus] our Messiah. We cannot ignore world events or Bible prophecy, yet plenty of deception exists. Christians must not be deceived even if the majority of the world is or desires to be. Yahshua [Jesus] commented that even the elect would be deceived if the time of the end was not cut short. We must discuss the truth; where faithful disciples are going in relation to the world system; and alternatively, where false disciples and the rest of the world are going.
Much of modern society has become accustomed to a life of comfort and pleasure, or at least the pursuit of it. The potential of living outside your personal comfort zone can be quite perplexing; especially in a world that constantly tests that comfort… or so many say! Bible prophecy seeks to test that spirit of false comfort that fills the lives of so many Christians today. Disciples of the Messiah must have discernment. (“Discernment the World Doesn’t Have“; “Discernment: Having an Ear to Deeper Understanding“)
One reaction of many is one of avoidance. Untold millions of professed Christians dread the future. Why? They have been taught about the horrible spectacle of the last days and a horrible spectacle of a great tribulation, accented by the book of Revelation. Their religion has taught them to do nothing more than what the world does: flounder in fear and worry. Many pastors and denominations base their theology in fear rather than truth; if not through brimstone and hellfire, then through horrible end time events. (“Opposing Fear“; “Overcoming Fear during Tough Times“)
Millions more are titillated by the possibilities of exciting times and special knowledge, yet few lives are actually changed by the chit chat, or the visions of horror built by enthusiastic religious gurus. As a result of fear and speculative interpretation, millions of professed Christians are frozen in fear, unwilling to do anything but to avoid what they see as truth. Others cleverly avoid personal Christian answerability to YHWH by trusting in the world, ignoring their call to true faith or trust. Others prefer an easy way, as dabblers without accountability, living as baby Christians, full of second hand information, dramatic presentations and feel-good forums and philosophy. Others have chosen unbelief, rejecting any notion of the last days as mere myth, wholly casting aside any possibility of “apocalyptic times.” (“Trading for the Myth of Peace & Security“)
Where does all the confusion come from?
“For Elohim is not Elohim of disorder but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the set-apart ones. ”- 1 Corinthians 14:33, ISR98
The purpose of the disciples of Messiah is to shine light, to expose darkness, for that is the nature and purpose of light. Disciples must be light! From what scripture says, this is hardly an option, but part of the nature of any genuine disciple. (Matthew 5:16; John 8:12, 12:46; Acts 26:16-18; Ephesians 5:8-17; 2 Corinthians 4:5-6)
“I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.” – John 12:46, NKJV
Confusion comes from the dark kingdom of Satan and his agents, not from the Kingdom of YHWH. (Jeremiah 29:11; 1 Corinthians 2:13; Mark 7:6-13; 1 Peter 1:20-21) All the excitement about punishment and dread, compounded by insecurity and outlook of the world at-large, has desensitized the hearts of professed Christians to important truth. Fear is the tool that the world uses to promote compliance. Fear is the tool that religion of man uses. Continuing to operate in fear is easy. The real blight of Christianity is that Christians are not truly instructed to love and respect their Heavenly Father in personal relationship, but only to fear Him, much like the nation of Israel did at Mount Sinai. (Exodus 20:18) Fearing is so easy, because the world is fully grounded in it. Most of the decisions made in the world today are, in actuality, the result of fear. By extension, most humans fear what they don’t understand, because fear is the world’s legacy of understanding. (“Abiding With YHWH in Quiet Places“)
Most that believe in Bible prophecy are certain that Satan and evil forces are firmly in charge, even when YHWH brings judgment to the earth in the near future. They are petrified by the idea of judgment, instead preferring to focus on what the world sees as positive. They ignore the command and the ability of humans to accept the new man in Messiah, set apart to Elohim, because most religion ignores this truth. They prefer the comfort of traditional thinking of the past because it doesn’t require additional effort. They expect to continue doing exactly what they have always done while expecting the blessing of Elohim. They also ignore what YHWH wants for His faithful disciples during good times, as well as during times of trial and persecution that Messiah and the prophets foretold. (“YHWH’s Threshing Floor“; “Knowing Where You Stand on YHWH’s Threshing Floor“; “The Wheels of Ezekiel“)
“Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment, until the indignation is past.” – Isaiah 26:20 (read Isaiah Chapters 25, 26)
Provision is made for safety where faithful, truth-seeking Christians can be secure during the ongoing storm of mankind. Christians must withdraw from active involvement with the world to dwell in YHWH’s security. What are these chambers? These chambers are the foundation of relationship; personal safety and prayer under the wings of YHWH’s safety.
“Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you.” – Psalm 91:3-7
Psalm 91:5 does not refer to YHWH as a giant eagle or bird as so many commentaries note. (Matthew 23:37) This verse refers, originally, to a four-cornered prayer shawl or tallit (literally small tent) used by the nation of Israel, as well as in modern Judaism. On each corner was a tassel known as tzitzit to remind them of the law covenant. (Numbers 15:37-40) In this way, each member of the nation had his own portable sanctuary. Being Jews and observant of the Torah, our Savior and His disciples wore a prayer shawl with four corners and the “tsit tsit,” fringes, in the wings (each corner), at least in the years of the ministry of Yahshua [Jesus]. (Matthew 14:34-36; Mark 6:53-56; Luke 8:43, 44; Matthew 9:20) Tameion, the Greek word for closet means “an inner chamber, or a secret room.” In the physical world, the closeting of oneself in the covering of the prayer shawl or tallit was a symbolic separation from the world around the Jewish man. Those that wear a tallit are said to be covered by YHWH.
Just like the garment of Yahshua [Jesus] has healing power in its wings (hem of the garment), so does YHWH seek to heal His people. YHWH seeks to deliver us from the net of the dark kingdom. His sanctified are covered with the power of His heavenly prayer shawl, His secret place, His sanctuary. In essence, He makes utterance for and seeks to teach His children, making blessings come when His children are in line to receive His will. He covers His beloved with His faithfulness and His truth to secure them from ruin. When His children abide in Him, they can expect to enjoy His promises, now and in the future. This scripture, among many, indicates that YHWH covers His people with His prayer shawl (translated as feathers) and tzitzit (translated as wings).
This salvation is no less than the same kind of physical and spiritual safety that the nation of Israel enjoyed during the first Passover in Egypt as they were saved from the destroying angel. The chambers of protection are more. They are the foundations of relationship, prayer covering grounded through abiding in Him. (John 14:23; 15:4-5, 10) This chamber of faith is your place of prayer, grounded in personal love and devotion through accurate knowledge of scripture. (Matthew 6:6; 1 Peter 1:5; “The Abomination That Causes Desolation“; “Christian: Your Basis of Trust“; “Holy Spirit 101“)
“The name of YAHWEH is a tower of strength, the righteous runs into it and is set on high.” – Proverbs 18:10, HRB
“Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness? And what fellowship has light with darkness? And what agreement has Messiah with Beliyaʽal? Or what part does a believer have with an unbeliever? And what union has the Dwelling Place of Elohim with idols? For you are a Dwelling Place of the living Elohim, as Elohim has said, ‘I shall dwell in them and walk among them, and I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.’ Therefore, ‘Come out from among them and be separate, says YHWH, and do not touch what is unclean, and I shall receive you.’”– 2 Corinthians 6:14-17, ISR98
Touching what is unclean alludes to the book of Revelation, where the reader is admonished to get out of “Babylon the Great.” (Revelation 18:4) To the mindset of most, Babylon the Great doesn’t exist, or if it did, it certainly doesn’t apply to Christians! Many have hardened their hearts against the reality that they may not be operating in spiritual truth! Yet, disciples of Messiah are exactly who John is talking to in Revelation. The problem in much of professing Christianity is simply that they don’t belief it. They are distracted by the world, by their faith in things other than YHWH, as well as the prospect of their fears that they have never cast off. They trust in a counterfeit system of weights and balances that must reap what it has sown, but not the YHWH they claim to serve, respect and honor. (“The Need to Keep Spiritually Clean“; “What Is Washing By The Word?“; “Deceptions of Ages: How People are Deceived“)
For a certainty, Yahshua [Jesus] told His disciples that they would encounter trials and troubles much like He did while on earth. (Matthew 24:9; 1 Peter 1:6-7; Revelation 1:9) You can experience difficulty because of what is happening in the world despite your faithfulness. You may suffer as certain parts of the world experience His judgment. There remains a deeper truth however. During great tribulation, why should your Heavenly Father punish you in judgment, when you rely fully on Him for personal and spiritual safety? As a saint, you are a child of YHWH and part of His Holy Family. You are beloved. (“YHWH’s Promise to His Elect“)
Let’s face facts. Satan and his system is the great imitator. It is not beyond the realm of possibility that a counterfeit system would try to imitate the Kingdom of YHWH. This has been going on for quite some time through the Roman Catholic Church. Some claim that this imitation could come, complete with a sixth day Sabbath and a person leading it that claims to be the Messiah of the age. Bible discernment and abiding in Elohim through the Holy Spirit is the key to understanding what is happening around you! (“Wisdom & the Battle of Two Kingdoms“; “Listening to the Holy Spirit“)
Even in the simplest of things, professed Christians are in spiritual trouble. Most Christians have already bought off on the modern ideas of finance, business and government as being Christian and part of Elohim’s Kingdom on earth. Where most Christians are concerned, what is expressed by the world as the necessary tools for success, are in fact, part of the dark kingdom. All of these things appear good and necessary for success. Full of pride, professed Christianity clings to them, with the idea that they will give a portion to the Heavenly Father someday, using the end to justify the means. Instead, we have been sold a false bill of goods that depletes and tears down, instead of building up and enriching Bible truth. What is worse, what so many slave for is routinely ransacked by a system that stands behind the illusion of wealth that so many are bound to. Inflation is cleverly engineered into the system as a means of extracting wealth from the populace. This is the reality that Christians must realize. Playing by the rules of the world, while fully depending on the commerce and lifestyle proffered by worldly authority seduces and bankrupts thoroughly. Most Christians know little or nothing about such things. In fact, most believe just the opposite. They are thoroughly deceived by the dark kingdom. They are busy striving after the things of the dark kingdom as so many have done since the time of Messiah. That is why we are alerting you to the truth. (“Bible Prophecy and the Rise of the Corporation“; “The Image & Mark of the Beast System“; “Delusion & the Tightening Noose of the Beast System“)
Satan and the dark kingdom wants to appear to mankind (yes, Christians too!) as the peak of goodness, even righteousness. Behind the scenes, the old dragon or serpent seeks to deceive the whole world. (Revelation 12:9) The antichrist of the world will continue to ply their trade on many fronts, and to repeal your physical and spiritual freedom as they can. (“Becoming Your Own God Through General Goodness?“; “The Antichrist & the War on Reality“)
“For such ones are false apostles, deceitful workers transforming themselves into apostles of Messiah. There is no marvel in this; for if Satan disguises himself into an angel of light, it is not a great thing then, if his ministers also pose themselves as ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.” – 2 Corinthians 11:13-15, HRB
Over the last two thousand years, all nature of deception has crept into Christianity. Observance of the spring equinox and the winter solstice challenges scripture. Modern holidays are painted as wholly acceptable for all. (Matthew 24:24-25) Many have been fooled by angels of Satan that disguise themselves as departed loved ones because of the belief in the immortality of the soul. (1 Samuel 28:11-14) Just like Hitler proclaimed, a New World Government is likely claim to introduce a new millennium rule under a charismatic leadership of great promise. If many Muslims had their say, Islam would rule over Rome as the new power of the world. (Revelation 13; Matthew 24:23-25; “News: The Ten Kingdoms of the New Order“; “Bible Prophecy: The Man of Lawlessness“; “Consenting to Fables of Men“; “The Perverse Gods of Christmas“)
“His coming is due to the working of Satan in all power and miraculous signs and lying wonders, and in all deceit of unrighteousness in those who will perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth in order for them to be saved. And because of this, YAHWEH will send to them a working of deception, for them to believe the lie, that those not believing in the truth, but who have delighted in unrighteousness all may be damned.” – 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12, HRB
The deception of replacement theology and the antichrist movement, has sought and continues to seek to obscure the truth of scripture. The Word of Elohim has become religion shadowed through tradition, philosophy and alternate lifestyles. These things seek to take the place of the Messiah and the authority of YHWH. In the day that Yahshua [Jesus] walked the earth, the Jews suffered under the rule of the Sanhedrin and Herod. The brotherhood was instructed not to rebel against it. (Romans 13:1-8; Ephesians 5:11) This is no different today. YHWH will protect His faithful. They will come out of the world situation victorious, regardless of what appearance may seems at any given time in history. (“The Importance of Practical Repentance“; “Filling Your Life with Truth Instead of Deception“)
“ Now, then, why do you test Elohim by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we had strength to carry?” – Acts 15:10, HRB
Pharisees and Sadducees ruled the Sanhedrin, the Jewish religious governing body of Yahshua’s [Jesus] day. They ruled with an iron fist in corporate fashion: extremely religious, while authoritarian and carnal. They loved to rule others. This same attitude exists within professed Christianity, as certain ministers, reverends and pastors seek to rule baby Christians as they proclaim freedom in Messiah, and sequester profit for themselves. The problem remains that baby Christians that possess no discernment cannot have spiritual freedom because they remain in bondage to the old man. (“Leaven of the Pharisees; Leaven of the World“; “Which Shepherd Do You Believe?“; “Truth About the Modern Concept of Pastor“)
The future government that Revelation predicts is very likely to inconvenience Christians with loads of rules, perhaps even intense oversight and scrutiny. In a real sense, we are living in these times right now as the laws of man seek to create order through slavery. The voice of the lamb has turned to the voice of a dragon. It directs you to worship the system in place, the dark kingdom. It claims special knowledge and success. (Revelation 13:11) There is a spiritual famine in the land that doesn’t recognize the worship of the dark kingdom. (Amos 8:11) Truth is in short supply because so many believe that there is no real truth.
The sanctified of the Messiah must continue to express trust in YHWH’s promises in this time of trial instead of murmuring continually against the Beast. The Beast rules the dark kingdom with authority. In the same way, Christians must not elevate the Beast either. (Revelation 13:4) The faithful continue to focus on finding the spiritually lost while there is still time.
“He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.” – Revelation 13:10, NKJV
Since the beginning of recorded history, the Bible says that man has dominated man to his own injury. (Ecclesiastes 8:9) With the widening of new world thinking, YHWH wants His elect to fully understand that rule by man results in nothing but oppression and misuse of power. History through counterfeit has continued to repeat itself. The counterfeit wants your allegiance and devotion now more than ever, whether it is through nationalism, philosophy, tradition of the past or replacement theology. (“Millenniums of Human Exploitation“)
Revelation 13 refers to a mark in the right hand or the forehead. These are not physical marks, nor are they computer or tracking chips. The new cars you drive, the passports you use, the licenses that the system demands and a system of credit do this well enough. Scripture is referring to belief, what is in your mind, and your action on what you believe. These references are used repeatedly in scripture. (Genesis 4:15; Exodus 13:9; Deuteronomy 6:8) In the same way, what you think and what you do is a reflection of what you believe. The mark of the antichrist is one of works and performance. It is people pleasing and fear of authority. The mark of YHWH is one of grace and obedience to His commands. It is personal relationship. (“How YHWH Marks His People“; “Trust YHWH, Not World Leaders“)
Part of the antichrist movement is likely to involve the completion of what Israel calls the third temple, even though the third temple is already built as the Dome of the Rock. Even as you read this, a new Sanhedrin is directing plans for a restored temple as they finish arrangements for implementing temple worship. If they can, the Sanhedrin seeks to restore the Ark of the Covenant to its’ rightful place in their temple. All this while the Jeremiah 3:16 says that another ark will never be made. So they must find the original, conjure up an ark that fits the part or reject the need for an ark. There is evidence and testimony that the ark of the covenant has been found, the temple prefabricated and the temple instruments ready to press into service. Nowhere in scripture is the building of the third temple required. (Matthew 24; Mark 13; Luke 21; Daniel 9) A portable tabernacle would be just as relevant. In fact, each disciple of Messiah is a tabernacle of the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 2:10-23; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Acts 7:48, 17:24; John 14:21-23; 1 Peter 1:22-24; Revelation 21:22; Isaiah 56:7) You must run to the spiritual Mountain of YHWH, (Micah 4:1-5; John 4:21-24; Hebrews 12:18-24) beginning with the provision of scripture, running from the spiritual abominations of man’s system, political, financial and spiritual. You keep yourself clean through the washing by the Word of YHWH. (“Christian: Learning to Live in Trust“; “YHWH’s Revolution“)
Right now, the search is being hindered by Islam. The specter of war looms large in Israel as strife and tension fester between Muslims and Jews over the Temple Mount and the legal status of Jerusalem. The tension in today’s world seems to be all about politics and cultural rights. Religion is an ever present piece of the puzzle. (“World War 3? End Time Insights About Gog and Magog“; “Religion & Rise in Opposition to Christians“)
Disciples have a different relationship with Messiah than the world does. For the most part, the world could care less about scripture unless it easily benefits them. As YHWH’s people, His sons and daughters, we no longer will suffer retribution from Him. Judgments that are rendered against the wicked of the world do not apply to faithful and mature disciples that have discernment. (Ephesians 2:6) We aren’t sinless, but made perfect in His judgment. Baby Christians, carnal Christians and the world aren’t content with this. They only recognize what they see and might see in the physical. (“Disciples of Messiah & the Authority of Man“; “Discipleship is Renewal“; “Spiritual Fruit & Renewing Your Mind“)
In these days, YHWH’s people are not a huge number, despite the number of those that proclaim Christianity or boast about the saving grace of Yahshua [Jesus]. Yahshua [Jesus] says it simply in Matthew 7:13-14: “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (NKJV) While this is not a popular truth, those that claim the faith cannot ignore it. More people are part of the dark kingdom than would prefer to believe it. (“The Struggle of Kingdoms Involves You“; “YHWH’s Track of Righteousness“)
In view of the tension in the dark kingdom, much of Christianity believes that they will escape an attack on what they see as their personal freedoms, the ensuing war and a Great Tribulation, without any unpleasantness whatever. While Elohim’s sanctified people do die, YHWH has protected them from many trials, including captivity, torture or prolonged suffering. He has promised that His beloved will never suffer more than they can endure. (1 Corinthians 10:13; Acts 11:17) YHWH delivers this promise every day! Even more important is the question that every disciple must ask: What decisions am I making? Am I working against the Almighty and His promises?
Many believers fail to look at the character of self, and instead focus on an easy way out. Enter the ultimate theological solution for comfort and ultimately deception, even a tool for a great falling away from faith: the pre-tribulation rapture. (“The Struggle for Purity of Heart“; “Bible: Wisdom 101“)
“And, brothers, we entreat you, by the coming of our Master Yahshua Messiah, and of our gathering together to Him, that you not let your mind be hastily excited or troubled, neither by word, nor by spirit, nor by prophecy of the spirit, nor by an epistle, supposedly coming from us, stating that the day of our Master is at hand. Do not let anyone deceive you in any way, because that Day will not come unless first there comes a great rebellion, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, the one opposing and exalting himself over everything being called Elohim, or object of reverence, so as for him “To sit in the sanctuary of Elohim” as an El, and sets himself forth, as if he is a Elohim.” – 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4, HRB
Popular books and movies proclaim a doctrine which reveals that Messiah will come back twice, first coming only to snatch believers safely away to heaven for several years and then returning to the earth again. When the misinformed are faced with trial on earth, these baby disciples won’t desire to stand firm as light in the dark kingdom. Remember, they expect an easy way out. Even worse, traditions and philosophies of men, instead of the Bible truth are the extent of their belief.
The accurate teaching of the Bible is actually quite simple, but traditions and creative thinking make the “modern doctrine” of many believers complex. All the while, those that seek the simple truth of the Bible are accused of being “cultic” by those that truly are. The truth is easily discovered by anyone that is willing to research the truth for themselves. Reading the Bible is no longer reserved for only Roman Catholic priests that speak and read Latin. The truth of YHWH’s Word was never intended to be known and dispensed only by the reverends and pastors of the Christian world. Disciples are to write YHWH’s Word on their hearts, to learn it and know it; to be able to discern it. A disciple is not simply to receive his faith second hand without the ability to back it up. (“Doctrine Is What You Do“; “A Doctrine of Demons“)
The basis for being “caught up” in the rapture comes from 2 Thessalonians 4:16-17: “Because the Master Himself shall come down from Heaven with a commanding shout of an archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of YAHWEH. And the dead in Messiah will rise again first. Then we who remain alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet with our Master in the air. And so we will always be with our Master.”
The Greek word for “caught up” is harpazo. It denotes the idea of sudden force from the power of Elohim. Disciples of the Messiah in Thessalonica were bathed in a secular society. They found themselves mourning over the deaths of loved ones. Paul’s response and comfort to them was equality in Messiah’s Second Coming. There will be a reunion with sanctified loved ones; disciples and Messiah. To counter the pre-tribulation and other variations that may be supported, the first resurrection to spiritual life at Messiah’s Return is mentioned in Revelation 20:5-6. This resurrection is brought about after the events associated with great tribulation (Matthew 24:21) are over. Though we have already said this, YHWH will protect his people during great tribulation, whatever disciples face, right here on earth. This has, in fact, been the case since Yahshua [Jesus] was crucified. This is great comfort if you believe Him. (“The Magi of this Age“; “Strongholds & the Armor of YHWH“)
1 Corinthians 15:51-53 says that YHWH resurrects deceased believers to spirit at “the last trumpet,” the same “trumpet of Elohim” mentioned in 1 Thessalonians 4:16. YHWH will also change to spirit those believers still living at Messiah’s Return. That change is what enables sanctified believers to rise in the air to meet their Messiah. Under normal circumstances, human beings don’t rise into the air. Those in spirit bodies do, just like Yahshua [Jesus] did! (Acts 1:9)
A dominant rapture theory says Yahshua [Jesus] takes Elohim’s people to heaven to spare them from the Great Tribulation, but depending on whom you talk to, not necessarily all of them. Some say that a number are to stay behind to guide the bewildered…and so it goes as religion continues to invent ways to justify error. YHWH is not the author of confusion. Resurrected spirit beings don’t need to be rescued from anything that the physical realm might inflict. They aren’t hurt by physical events. It makes no sense to think that Messiah must take faithful disciples to heaven to protect them from the evil on earth. But the Heavenly Father will protect believers during this time of stress. The most specific reference to the protection that He promises for His people at the end of the age is in Revelation 12.
Revelation 12:14 says, “And the earth helped the woman, [symbolic of the gathering of Elohim] and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed the river which the dragon threw out of his mouth.” (HRB)
There is more to the story. The context of scripture tells the reader that at least some of Elohim’s people will suffer trial, even outright persecution, while He protects them. This is nothing new in the course of history. A great witness for the Messiah and His Kingdom has resulted, and must occur while some may be saved from destruction. “And the dragon was enraged over the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, those keeping the commandments of YAHWEH, and having the testimony of Yahshua Messiah.” (Revelation 12:17, HRB).
“But the day of YAHWEH will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with rushing sound, and the elements shall separate as they burn, and earth and the works in it will be burned up. Now since all these being are about to be dissolved, what sort of person ought you to be in holy behavior and righteousness, looking for and longing for the coming of the Day of YAHWEH, through which the heavens having been set afire will be dissolved; and burning, the elements will melt?” – 2 Peter 3:10-12, HRB
This appointed time will come as a thief in the night despite the teaching and preaching of Christians. Why? Even Christians are often consumed and distracted by the world around them. In this condition, their significance is not YHWH, but making their way on this earth, consumed by worry, fear and a personal vision of material success. They are being tested, even now, by ongoing events that pummel every element of their personal faith. Like the wheat and the tares, there is no middle ground between “shining forth like the sun in the kingdom of their Father” and being “cast into the furnace of fire.” There will be many that profess faith and trust, proclaiming that they are “sons of the kingdom.” (“Redeemed Through Obedience & Faith“; “Disciple: Remember Diligence through Trust“)
Those that do not believe will be separated from YHWH, judged on that mindset. (Matthew 8:8-13) There will weeping and gnashing of teeth for those that did not prepare, refused to belief or simply gave up their obedience to their faith. (Matthew 13:41-50, 22:12-13, 24:50-51, 25:29-30; Luke 13:27-28) This intense, consuming, jealous regret will come about as the bereaved realize their error before they are destroyed in the lake of fire; eternal destruction and separation from YHWH and His Eternal Kingdom. (Matthew 5:29; 5:30; 13:42; 13:50; 18:8; 18:9; Mark 9:45; 9:47; Revelation 19:20; 20:10; 20:14; 20:15)
The following scriptures are not identical passages or events in scripture, but both highlighted segments are often used in the effort to support the rapture of the saints. I’ve underlined sections that might be in question.
“But concerning that day and the hour no one knows, not even the messengers of the heavens, but My Father only. And as the days of Noaḥ, so also shall the coming of the Son of Adam be. For as they were in the days before the flood, eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noaḥ entered into the ark, and they did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also shall the coming of the Son of Adam be. Then two shall be in the field, the one is taken and the one is left. Two shall be grinding at the mill, one is taken and one is left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Master is coming. And know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Because of this, be ready too, for the Son of Aḏam is coming at an hour when you do not expect Him. Who then is a trustworthy and wise servant, whom his master set over his household, to give them food in season? Blessed is that servant whom his master, having come, shall find so doing. Truly, I say to you that he shall set him over all his possessions. But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, the master of that servant shall come on a day when he does not expect it, and at an hour he does not know, and shall cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites – there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. – Matthew 24:36-51, ISR98
This passage must be taken in context. Yahshua [Jesus] is discussing the last days. He discusses the last days, with similarity to the days of Noah, a similar judgment of the world system and unbelievers in place at the time. He discusses two that will be separated from the Father and then the unfaithful servant that pays no mind to Messiah’s Coming. When Messiah returns from heaven, He will receive believers unto Himself and all unbelievers will be put away to destruction, eternally separated from YHWH.
“’In that day, he who will be on the housetop, let him not go down to take his goods from the house. And likewise, he in the field, let him not return to the things behind. Remember Lot’s wife. Whoever seeks to save his life, he will lose it. And whoever will lose it, he will preserve it. I say to you, in that night two will be on one bed; the one will be taken and the other will be left. Two will be grinding together; one will be taken and the other will be left. Two will be in the field, the one will be taken and the other will be left.’ And answering, they said to Him, ‘To Where our Master?’ And He said to them, ‘Where the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.’” – Luke 17:31-37, HRB
For the purposes of this discussion, the result is much the same, with a different lesson. Yahshua [Jesus] is discussing the last days as it was in the final days of Jerusalem when the Roman General Titus put the city under siege. He reminds the reader of Lot’s wife, who lost her life mourning the loss of all her wealth and social standing in Sodom. Those that follow the ways of the flesh will reap the ways of the flesh. He discusses two that will be separated and then the unfaithful servant. When He returns from heaven, Yahshua [Jesus] will receive the believers unto Himself and the unbelievers will be put away, eternally separated from YHWH. Those faithful were willing to listen, to leave their life, an illusion of physical comfort and security, to escape the siege of Jerusalem. YHWH provided a way out of what would have otherwise been a hopeless situation and certain death. They weren’t free from trial, but they escaped with their life to live another day, to further YHWH’s purposes, preserved in the “wilderness” of YHWH’s provision.
The meaning of Luke 17:37 is debated among scholars, with an interesting twist. Whether it relates to Revelation 12:14 and the protection of YHWH’s faithful or eagles that flock to consume the prey and those that fail to heed the wisdom of the Father, the relevance is the same. The Roman army, whose symbol was the eagle, seized as prey, those that did not listen in Jerusalem. Whether this is relevant and regardless of what nation is represented by an eagle today, the truth remains the same.
Those that listen will be delivered. Those that close their minds and hearts from the truth of YHWH will be cut off. (2 Corinthians 4:4) Stay away from false teachers that masquerade as angels of light as you seek Bible truth. (2 Corinthians 11:14-15; 1 John 4:1, 6; Revelation 12:9) Read the Bible and pray for direction. If you have a computer, get free Bible software that helps you discover the truth, including translating passages of the Bible for yourself. Focus on getting your life right, with obedience to YHWH, allowing His grace to change your life right now. (Ephesians 2:1-7) Make Elohim’s Word your own.
The bottom line is that YHWH’s sanctified will be protected as a whole from the evils of the dark kingdom, as well as the judgments of any great tribulation. There is one Second Advent of Messiah where sanctified believers will be changed forever, and where resurrection takes place. Right now, the focus of these disciples must be on spiritual preparation and reaching others with the essentials of Bible truth. (Matthew 24:38-51; “YHWH’s People Walk by Faith and Obedience to His Word“; “Disciples of Messiah and the Harvest“)
