News: Wall Street Greed Creates Hunger

by John Greene

When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.” – Revelation 6:5-6

food-shortage-dark-horseman-300x225This scripture foretells great food shortages in the last days. Drought and famine most often come to mind because, in the past, this has been the most common cause for lack of food. Hyperinflation has been posited as a possible cause of famine in the last days, just as it happened with Germany in the 1920s. There is nothing new in radical actions of governments withholding food from residents of their countries, as this was a regular publicized occurrence in the 1980s and 1990s. Imbalances in consumption by prospering countries sometimes create food shortages as do floods and other natural events, as has occurred in the bread basket of the United States this year. Depletion of U.S. and global grain reserves continue unabated. Record crop losses are being glossed over by the USDA. Food shortages are commonly created by financial crisis and extreme weather. black-horsemanNow, the pair of scales in the hand of the rider of black horse bears a new significance for the Bible truth seeker. A decade ago, nobody would have guessed a new wrinkle in food shortage, created by the rampant greed of speculators in national and international marketplaces. The number of derivative contracts in commodities increased by more than 500% between 2002 and 2008. This was followed by the collapse of the U.S. mortgage market and economic meltdown. A global recession followed, accompanied by a huge spike in food prices. (“News: The Ten Kingdoms of the New Order“)

commodity-futuresU.S. Federal Law made the Wall Street foray into food possible. The Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000 allowed bidding to begin on the trade of food commodities without limits, disclosure requirements, or regulatory oversight. The Act also permits derivatives contracts, where both buyer and seller speculate on paper, and neither party has any intention of ever physically acquiring the commodity in question. It’s outright gambling with the population of the world held captive. It’s the same market that brought down the banking industry and created the 2008 economic meltdown. Wall Street wealthThe advertising says that agricultural commodities markets were created so that traders of food could hedge their positions against big swings in prices. If you’re sitting on a warehouse full of corn, it’s worth making a significant bet that the price will go down, just in case it does, and makes your corn worthless. That way at least you make money on the bet to counter the actual loss. Derivatives can add leverage to your bet, so you don’t need to bet the entire value of your corn in order to protect it. That is some of the logic being employed in the business world today, which is likely to create another financial bubble if it doesn’t create a real shortage through pricing manipulation. (“The Power Behind the New World Order“; “Christians & Finance“; “Approved: Lie Cheat & Steal“)

It is just two years since the last crisis. While food prices increased substantially in the United States, a spike in the price of agricultural commodities in 2007-08 caused panic from Italy to Haiti. At the time, Wall Street derivatives and speculation were largely unknown as an underlying cause until later. Today, speculation is a recognized cause, promoted by an increasing “global market.”

Wall-Street-tradingThis contract speculation continues to lift its ugly head. In Niger, a poor west African nation, “is experiencing its worst food crisis in years, but is not actually short of food. Mounds of cereals are piled high on market stalls – they are simply too expensive to afford.” In the theory of earthly wisdom, prices of all commodities are impacted by wheat. (“The Image & Mark of the Beast System“; “The Man of Lawlessness“; “Bible Prophecy and the Rise of the Corporation“; “Millenniums of Human Exploitation“)

The typical explanation for the high price of food in Niger would be a crisis of production. The media might actually address this as the cause. The truth is that the harvest has been destroyed by extreme weather in wheat-producing powerhouses of agriculture. The rise in prices, especially abroad, has been accompanied by the rise of speculation in commodity markets. Derivatives packaging products such as wheat and corn have created massive profits for speculators without any concern regarding the actual commodities represented by the derivatives.

forest-fire-droughtThe recent heatwave, forest fires and drought in Russia and central Asia may be unprecedented in recent times, just like events in the U.S. and China. Nations are often hesitant to admit to price tampering or any pressures outside of supply and demand until they must, as is reflected in the initial reaction of the court system in the Russian government. There is something familiar about the ensuing food crisis, now founded in the price of wheat, which has catapulted by 50%. Speculation has once again reared its ugliness. When high food prices are combined with food shortages, only one result is likely; hunger and starvation in line with Bible prophecy. “For YHWH so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16, RNKJV
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending the Messiah, your only begotten Son to be my Savior. I believe in Him and have made this belief the center of my life. Because of this, by faith I have everlasting life! Thank you! I repent of my sins and of my past, freely admitting that I have fallen short of Your glory. I look fully forward to you in my life and commit my life to You. Thank You YHWH, my Heavenly Father for setting me free in the name of your Son Yahshua [Jesus]. Amen.
genuine-articleYou will never enjoy true freedom through the Messiah and power of the Holy Spirit unless you read and absorb the Bible in prayer and trust. You will never know this freedom until you experience it for yourself. Get to know your Heavenly Father, His Son and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. The Holy Spirit is your teacher, your Holy Counselor that lives in you to help you learn about the truth of YHWH and His spiritual gifts.
Satan does not want you to have the excellence of YHWH in your life. People pray for protection and want to be taken care of, but often do little in growing close to Him. The world, your husband, your wife, your family, your government do not build your trust in YHWH or free you from spiritual bondage. Your church or your pastor cannot save you. Education, power and money will not free you, but only the Word of your Heavenly Father. Salvation is a daily walk, an act of love for yourself and for those around you, not a one-time event that centers only on you. Make the Word of YHWH your own, your very life!
YHWH is Yahweh, the covenant name of your Heavenly Father.
The names Yahshua and Yahushua are original language names for Jesus,
He is often referred simply as the Messiah or Master.
