Satan is bad. Certainly, you have heard it before. What does this mean? You’ve heard all kinds of things about the devil or Satan (as this spirit creature is commonly called). Despite all the teaching out there, the character of Satan and his character expressed through mankind is often white washed or simply not recognized. Seeking to excuse or cover up the painful consequences of sin is what most of mankind, including much of religion, has committed themselves too.
Contrary to the popular opinion of many, those that continually seek YHWH and His ways are not guaranteed to have an easy and carefree life. YHWH cannot and will not favor sin. You do have something to do with separation from Him. YHWH says that you have the ability to make choices which can kill you. (Genesis 3:17-19, 35:22; Exodus 34:7; Numbers 20:21; 1 Chronicles 21:13-14) This seems to be negative talk, but in reality is positive knowledge. You are a spiritual partner with one kingdom or the other based on the decisions and choices that you make. (2 Corinthians 13:5-10; James 1:22-25) When you do allow yourself to fall into sin, even after repentance, a measure of that sin remains as a reminder of the past. (Deuteronomy 27:15-26; Judges 16:21; 2 Samuel 12:14; 1 Peter 4:17-18) This is a past that should not be covered up in shame, but used as a tool of testimony to build up others. Why? Not a single human being is perfect, even as others can benefit and even be saved from reliving the horror of what you have lived through. (“Understanding Sin“; “The Unpardonable Sin“; “Wisdom & the Battle of Two Kingdoms“)
The Horror of King David
Like all disciples of Yahshua [Jesus] the Messiah today, the life of King David is an account of life struggles of a man that YHWH said was apple of His eye. (Psalm 17:8) David was the son of Jesse, first appearing in 1 Samuel 16, as the prophet Samuel seeks to anoint the next king of Israel on the orders of YHWH. As a youth, David was athletically inclined and had a gift for music. As he grew, his countenance grew into a fine figure and his dependence on YHWH gave him not only great faith, but a great charisma in the eyes of many of the time. His reputation was won in battles with neighboring Philistines. His country upbringing served as a good foundation for his survival when Saul sought to destroy him and for his kingship. (Hebrews 10:26)
Reading between the lines of scriptural text, to some degree David was a public people pleaser. He spent large amounts of time with affairs of His Kingdom and at times, lots of personal time puttering around his palace. (Matthew 8:19-20, 27:3-4; John 11:16; Acts 5:40-42) His family life had become something of a personal disaster. With multiple wives and their children, he had become alienated from his own family because of his workaholic ways. (1 Samuel 8:19-21) The intimacy David longed for in some seasons of his life was seconded as he plowed into affairs of state and putting on a good public face. This was evident in his affair with Bathsheba and the resulting murder of her husband in an attempt to cover the crime. (2 Samuel 11-13; 12:10-14; 1 Chronicles 5:1) Because of David’s tendency to personally neglect his family beyond his own needs, family rebellion literally exploded in his face and into the political context of the nation. Sexual misconduct and the rebellion of Absalom shook David’s family and the authority that David bore to the very core. (“The Role of Authority in Your Life“)
King David often failed to fully grasp that his sin would affect others. It affected his children and even the nation that he represented in kingship. (Ezekiel 18:1-18) This reality is no different for disciples today. Ezekiel points out the importance of turning away from iniquity and how the curse works. Despite the tragedies that David lived, he was spiritually victorious in the end. Why? In the end, David was faithful. He persisted in seeking YHWH despite his failings. In the same way, all human nature can become distracted, justifying all kinds of sin because of faulty reasoning and the passions of the flesh. (Ezekiel 18:19-30) That is why disciples need the Holy Spirit [Sanctified, Set Apart Spirit] today, as well as a continued commitment to honest self-examination in line with scripture. (“Holy Spirit 101“)
The Doctrine of Dripping Money
The fact that mankind fails YHWH so miserably seems contrary to many popular doctrines of ‘prosperity’ that have spread in Christianity. (Deuteronomy 6:10-13; Jeremiah 7:9-11; Luke 4:33; Acts 5:14) This doctrine usually implies that if you aren’t always dripping in money (giving money to the teacher as well) you are guilty of some sort of sin against the Heavenly Father. Most ministries do not even have an occasional focus on the negative role that Satan and his counterfeit teachings have on the world. Instead, most religion focuses on ideas of hope and heaven without dealing with the real causes of human sin and what they see as unpleasantness in the world. Considering that we live in a broken world, (Ephesians 6:12; 1 Timothy 2:9-15; 5:3, 22; 6:17-19) this huge spiritual oversight, along with the ignorance of the spiritual warfare that every human being faces every day, has billions doomed to spiritual ignorance and neglect, even in those that proclaim Christian faith. (1 Corinthians 5:6, 14:33; 2 Corinthians 2:5-11; Ephesians 2:19-21; 4:5, 12-13, 15-16) What’s worse is that these poor folks aren’t being fed the truth of Elohim’s Word, nor do truly they seek His Word themselves. (2 Timothy 4:1-2; Romans 1:25; 3 John 1:9-10; 1 Peter 2:2; Matthew 4:4; “Prospering Your Family“; “Family Stress Affects Generations“; “Overcoming Satanic Attack“)
The ways of Satan have infiltrated every aspect of human life, even though so many Christians fail to see the impact. In fact, most professed Christians dismiss the idea of the reality of spiritual warfare. Instead, life is easier when you paint a Christian face on things that seem beneficial. This phenomenon is nothing new. The process of corruption was clearly visible with Judaism, which adopted the ways of the nations while creating new religious doctrine and mysticism over time through the scholarship of the scribes. With the crucifixion of the Messiah, the ‘national heritage’ of YHWH was forever broken, even though attempts at this mindset have continued. Many nations have continued to attempt to use this to their own advantage. Christian religion has also used this for political advantage, or simply to remove pressure. (“Doctrine Is What You Do“; “Consenting to Fables of Men“)
In the name of Christianity, the ‘Great Commission’ (Matthew 24:14; 28:19; Acts 2:38, 41; 10:44-48) was adopted with zeal by the Roman Emperor Constantine. The ‘Great Commission’ was corrupted by including the practice of converting native pagan practices and culture, pagan religious imagery and so on to Christian uses in the name of evangelism. If possible, whole people were “converted” by various means, whether willingly or unwillingly, notably through the Roman Catholic Church. Popes came to argue that conversions were easier if people were allowed to retain the outward forms of their traditions, while claiming that these traditions were in the honor of ‘God.’ (Ecclesiastical History of the English People, Bede) In essence, the Roman Catholic Church intended that the traditions and practices still existed, but that the reasoning behind them was magically altered. To many, this is the gospel. (“Disciples: Focused on the Messiah & His Purpose“; “Playing It Safe With Another Gospel“; “YHWH’s Revolution“; “Consenting to Fables of Men“)
As a result, hearts have not been made new and trust in YHWH is substituted as trust in the nations. Minds have not been changed. Thinking has not been purified.
“And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. ‘Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.’ – Luke 12:29-34, NIV
(Ezekiel 36:26; Jeremiah 31:33; Psalm 51:10; Proverbs 3:5-6; 7:3; Matthew 6:5-15; 1 John 2:1) Unrighteous lifestyles, methods and thinking have been promoted. (Matthew 6:1; 7:22-23; 2 Corinthians 4:4) Christianity and discipleship have been reduced for the masses, to little more than a glorified demonic cult with nationalistic leanings. That is the aim of Satan. (“The Idolatry Factor“; “Mind Control of the Beast“; “Mind Filters“)
“Brethren, truly my heart’s desire and prayer to YAHWEH on behalf of Israel is for it to be saved. For I testify to them that they have zeal to YAHWEH, but not according to knowledge. For being ignorant of the righteousness of YAHWEH, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to the righteousness of YAHWEH. For Messiah is the goal of the Torah for righteousness to everyone that believes.
For Moses writes of the righteousness which is of the Torah: ‘The man doing these things shall live by them.’ But the righteousness of faith says this: ‘Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will go up into Heaven?” (that is, to bring down Messiah); or, ‘Who has descended into the abyss of Sheol and brought up Messiah from the dead.’ But what does it say? ‘The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart’ (that is, the Word of faith which we proclaim) Because if you confess the Master Yahshua with your mouth, and believe in your heart that YAHWEH raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For the heart which believes in Him shall be declared righteous, and the mouth that confesses Him shall live.” – Romans 10: 1-10, HRB
What the writer of Romans penned should be our heart as well. Disciples want their trust in Elohim to be based on knowledge, not on tradition, philosophy, fables or paganism of the past. The only valid trust in YHWH is trust grounded in His truth. The truth is considered with the mind and written on the heart through repetition. That truth is not counterfeit. Continued obedience through living and repetition, not ignorance to YHWH’s Word keeps accurate Bible knowledge and trust in Elohim written on your heart unto salvation. (“Redeemed Through Obedience & Faith“; “YHWH’s People Walk by Faith and Obedience to His Word“; “Foundation of Salvation“; “Cultivating YHWH’s Grace as You Seek Truth“)
“For the Word of YAHWEH is living, and powerfully working, and sharper than every two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of both soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow and bones, and able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” – Hebrews 4 :12, HRB
The Rebranding of Human Behavior
Today, one of the largest problems in society is that psychology and clever marketing has rebranded human behavior to suit the leanings of ‘science’ and human experience. Out of control human behavior is being accepted as normal. People are separated from Elohim because they are busy with the affairs of the world. Bitterness and resentment make Christians vulnerable to continued satanic attack and degradation as well. Conditioned behaviors like anger keep Christians rooted in the old lifestyle, in the old man of sin. Other behaviors that destroy people every day are considered acceptable, unavoidable by ‘science.’ Turmoil and strife separate or split people from others and even themselves, creating division and illness. The end result is that humanity is continually caught up in destruction on a huge scale, made wholly acceptable by the explanations of educated men. This isn’t by accident. (“News: Hyperinflation & False Teaching“; “News: Wall Street Greed Creates Hunger“; “Breaking the Hold of Stress“)
Satan is the great destroyer, often completely unopposed by modern thinking. Satan delights in twisting, smashing and disfiguring the way to destruction. Men and women that behave like the devil are his children. (Luke 4:1-13; 1 Corinthians 10:10; 2 Corinthians 2:11; 1 Peter 5:8-9; 2 Peter 2:1-2; James 1:14-15; 2 Timothy 3:6-7; Titus 1:11, 16; Revelation 9:11) Unlike what so much of Christianity teaches about hell, separation from YHWH, His Presence and His Will is the issue at hand! (Matthew 25:41; Isaiah 59:2) Most of the world lives in spiritual separation from YHWH with a reprobate mind. For its own ends and purposes, that world seeks to separate you from YHWH through your own free will. You are the one that decides whether separation will happen and whether you will seek Him. (Romans 6:23) YHWH, Elohim of Hosts is only a prayer away! (“The Reality of the Antichrist“; “Bible Prophecy: The Man of Lawlessness“)
Through Bible discernment and growing spiritual maturity, satanic behavior becomes obvious, even as Satan and a complicit world seeks to convince you to invest in his system. Will you? Disciples of Messiah are to resist Satan and the behavior that he represents, even as a world of humanity glories in what it considers to be its own brand of thinking. The church, in so many cases, has simply modeled itself after the world through the free will of ‘leaders.’ (Galatians 1:6-7; Revelation 14:8) This is an unpleasant truth that every disciple must consider in light of personal salvation.
As a son of the Most High, you are firmly bound to Messiah the Master when you accept the truth of scripture: “For I am zealous over you with the zealousness of YAHWEH. For I have promised you to one husband, to present you a pure virgin to Messiah. But I fear lest by any means, as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, so your thoughts should be corrupted from the purity which is in Messiah. For if, indeed one comes to you proclaiming another Yahshua, whom we have not proclaimed, or if you receive another spirit which you have not received, or another good news which you never accepted, you might have listened to him.” – 2 Corinthians 11: 2-4, HRB
Separation from the World
Disciples of Messiah are set apart from the world, in part through the love they have for one another. (Matthew 24:12) All disciples must discern that any action that is not made through love and obedience to the Father is simply an empty act of religious ritual. (1 Corinthians 2:14; 13:1; Matthew 6:33; 7:13-23; 2 Corinthians 11:13-15; Hebrews 5:14) Rebellion and arrogance are serious sins that involve more than being independent and strong-minded. Scripture equates rebellion against YHWH and the arrogance of the antichrist with witchcraft and idolatry, sins worthy of death. (Exodus 22:18; Leviticus 20:6; Deuteronomy 13:12-15; 18:10; Micah 5:10-14) As far as the illumination of the Law is concerned, these attitudes of the heart have not changed. They are still on roster of those that will not enter YHWH’s Kingdom (Luke 13:23-24; 18:15-17; Mark 1:14-15; 10:15; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:5; Revelation 21:8, 27) despite the words of those that say otherwise! Remember that YHWH, your Elohim, is only a prayer away! (“Disciple: The Pattern of Your Life“)
The Bible defines the person that fits the definition of sin. Anyone involved in unrepentant sin won’t make it into YHWH’s Kingdom. (Romans 2:5; 6:23) You need to be certain that you are willing to personally study and believe what the Bible says and that what you believe is rooted in the rightly divided Word, not simply what a pastor or church denomination says through the traditions of men. (2 Timothy 2:15) This is the reality of answerability for a disciple 2000 years after the time of Messiah. This answerability says that you must know the Bible yourself and that the end of salvation is a personal walk of trust. (Mark 13:13; Hebrews 12:1-3; 1 Corinthians 9:24-25; Philippians 3:14) YHWH’s people are saved as individuals, not through groups or through traditions, philosophies and deceptive teaching. YHWH favors the seeking heart that does not blindly accept the popular word of the moment. (“Filling Your Life with Truth Instead of Deception“; “Trading for the Myth of Peace & Security“; “Truth About the Modern Concept of Pastor“)
Even though disciples must boldly seek and dispense the Word of YHWH, disciples must be humble and teachable as well. (Matthew 5:20; 19:23-25; Mark 9:47; Luke 18:17; John 3:5; Hebrews 11:6) Disciples have turned aside from the conduct of the past and seek to abide in Messiah through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 18:3; John 3:3, 5; Acts 2:38) We are able to do all things because of the sacrifice of Yahshua [Jesus] and through the power of the Holy Spirit! (John 3:3; Ephesians 5:1-2) Disciples of Messiah are willing to be obedient and willing to submit to Elohim. In this way, disciples begin to achieve all that Father YHWH, Elohim of Hosts has designed! (“The Abomination That Causes Desolation“; “Delusion & the Tightening Noose of the Beast System“)
In days of old, YHWH took a nation for Himself out of others, through testing, miraculous signs and through the mightiness of His power. They were shown these things so that they might come to know and respect YHWH, that there is no other god before Him. He brought His people out of Egypt through His presence and great strength. The prosperity that He sought for His nation was to take Egypt out of them to a new prosperity of life and spirit. This goal hasn’t changed through the ages.
In the same way, unbelief and the influence of Satan has been a constant companion. This test of time proves that a single nation of people would not be single-minded in their love and honor for Him. Not satisfied with YHWH, at various times men have tried to bring about ‘God’s Kingdom’ through their own power and failed every time! What men and women have failed to understand is that only through singular trust in the Word of YHWH can anyone expect to grow closer to the Most High and His Will. (Psalm 20:7; 37:5; 56:11; John 14:1; 2 Corinthians 1:9-10; 1 Timothy 4:10; 6:17-19) Elohim doesn’t belong to a single nation, but to all the nations, all the people that will listen and abide in Him as sons of the Most High. You are part of the nations that YHWH seeks. Seek Him and be saved through trust in YHWH, through the provision of His Son and the Holy Spirit! (“YHWH’s Threshing Floor“; “Knowing Where You Stand on YHWH’s Threshing Floor“)
