Jeremiah’s Prayer and You

by John and Ruth Greene

“O YAHWEH, I know that his way does not belong to man; it is not in man who walks to direct his steps. O YAHWEH, correct me, only with judgment, not in Your anger, that You do not bring me to nothing. Pour out Your fury on the nations who do not know You, and on the families who do not call on Your name. For they have eaten up Jacob. Yea, they have devoured him and have destroyed him, and they have made his dwelling place desolate.” – Jeremiah 10:23-25, HRB

How often have you done as you wished or made a choice without giving your Heavenly Father a second thought? (Isaiah 55:8-9) This is a common theme in life. Every day, you and I make all kinds of decisions. Some of these choices are absolutely pivotal in the course of your life. Many Christians automatically assume that the decisions they make are YHWH’s will. The assumption is that the Yahshua [Jesus] the Messiah and the Holy Spirit [Sanctified, Set Apart Spirit] lives in them. Because many assume that the Messiah and His Spirit lives in them, they assume that their thoughts and deeds are always right, or because they think it, Elohim [‘God’] certainly wills it. Despite assumptions, they are not set apart to their Heavenly Father or the purpose of Yahshua [Jesus] the Messiah.  Many assumptions are derived from the teaching of Satan and his demons, assumptions that easily leads to a reprobate, unrepentant mind and a debased thought life. This is what had happened to old Israel. The inheritance of Jacob had been consumed by idolatry and rebellion. (Jeremiah 3:1-13, 14, 15-24, 4:1-3; “The Idolatry Factor“; “Video: What is Idolatry?“; “The Christian Prepper: How Prepared Are You?“)

set-apart-Spirit-bannerYHWH has the ability and desire to direct your life beyond your capabilities. You must be willing to listen. When you first begin your walk with your Heavenly Father in a spiritual sense, you may not have a clue about any of this. That was the case with both of us, the writers. First, you must be willing to hear YHWH, to seek His will. Then, you must hear Him. If you do not know about the Holy Spirit and His proper functioning in your life, you are unlikely to hear from your Father at all. In that case, you are operating through the power of your own flesh. The Holy Spirit has been a part of active Christian gatherings since the Pentecost in Acts. (Acts 2) Contrary to some modern teaching, the Divine Counselor for all believers has not gone away. He is still available to help you. (“How to Receive the Holy Spirit“; “Ya Gotta Have Roots!“)

What was written to the old Jewish nation has application for all disciples today. In Jeremiah 11, the rulers and people of Israel had absorbed the teachings and superstitions of the nations around them. Because of the unbelief evidenced by their lifestyle, they were cursed. (1 Corinthians 15:33; 2 Corinthians 11:13-15) Prophets were brought to His people so that some might be saved. YHWH wanted to give His people much, but they continually refused it. Because of this YHWH placed them in the refining fire to cleanse the nation. Scripture bears this out. The nation of Israel, as a body of people and government, chose to walk their own way. Only some were saved from out of that nation over the years. The same temptations pursue each and every sanctified disciple of the Messiah. Contrary to some popular teaching, not all that profess ‘Christ’ or ‘Christian faith’ will be saved. (Matthew 7:23-24, 8:12; 13:28, 24:24; Luke 13:27-28; “Tribulation of Israel: The Great Escape“; “YHWH’s Track of Righteousness“)

bible_2-220In comparison to the number of people living today, even among those that claim to follow Yahshua [Jesus] the Messiah, a comparative remnant will actually follow Him, the direction of the Holy Spirit, and the Bible. YHWH’s people seek Bible truth, instead of succumbing to apostasy and opposition. (Isaiah 1:9; Micah 7:18-19; Zephaniah 3:13; Romans 9:27, 11:5; Revelation 12:9, 17, 14:1-5, 22:14-17) As the writers, it is our heartfelt desire that you be among those that will be counted in YHWH’s Book of Life. What you trust is evident by your life and how you live it. (Matthew 3:8; Luke 13:3; James 2:18, 24; “Seeking a New Spirit“;”Which Shepherd Do You Believe?“;”Disciple: Are You Bearing Fruit?“)

“For YHWH so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16, RNKJV
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending the Messiah, your only begotten Son to be my Savior. I believe in Him and have made this belief the center of my life. Because of this, by faith I have everlasting life! Thank you! I repent of my sins and of my past, freely admitting that I have fallen short of Your glory. I look fully forward to you in my life and commit my life to You. Thank You YHWH, my Heavenly Father for setting me free in the name of your Son Yahshua [Jesus]. Amen.
genuine-articleYou will never enjoy true freedom through the Messiah and power of the Holy Spirit unless you read and absorb the Bible in prayer and trust. You will never know this freedom until you experience it for yourself. Get to know your Heavenly Father, His Son and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. The Holy Spirit is your teacher, your Holy Counselor that lives in you to help you learn about the truth of YHWH and His spiritual gifts.
Satan does not want you to have the excellence of YHWH in your life. People pray for protection and want to be taken care of, but often do little in growing close to Him. The world, your husband, your wife, your family, your government do not build your trust in YHWH or free you from spiritual bondage. Your church or your pastor cannot save you. Education, power and money will not free you, but only the Word of your Heavenly Father. Salvation is a daily walk, an act of love for yourself and for those around you, not a one-time event that centers only on you. Make the Word of YHWH your own, your very life!
YHWH is Yahweh, the covenant name of your Heavenly Father.
The names Yahshua and Yahushua are original language names for Jesus,
He is often referred simply as the Messiah or Master.
