Why Are Nations So Messed Up?

by John and Ruth Greene

strife of the worldDo you know why the nations of man are so messed up? (Nehemiah 5:6-7, 8-10, 11-12) They lack the knowledge of YHWH Almighty. You can go into any library and read the Bible. Most people don’t go into the library to read and understand the Bible. They go to read a bunch of other stuff that is likely to distract them from the truth they need in the depths of their mind and heart. Don’t sell yourself into slavery. (“Breaking the Hold of Stress“; “Family Stress Affects Generations“; “Stress, Satan and Faith: Part I“)

If a large body of people that profess that they belong to YHWH acted out the truth of the Bible without living in fear of the world about them, a number of the problems that exist today could have been overcome or made better. History bears this out. This isn’t sour grapes, but the recognition that what a man or woman does or fails to do truly matters. (“Forsaking Bitterness“; “Opposing Fear“; “Scriptures: Do Not Fear“)

scroll-paintingConsider Ezra*, a man that was committed to returning to YHWH, even in times of exile because of national iniquity. The old nation of Israel was promised freedom. Multitudes of them didn’t want that. They stayed in Babylon where life was more comfortable. Even Nehemiah*, a faithful man that was instrumental to rebuilding the city of Jerusalem returned to Babylon (as he promised the king). Men tend to return to Babylon, even when they don’t seek Babylon as their goal. Why? They aren’t listening to YHWH or the Holy [Sanctified, Set Apart] Spirit. The flesh and the peer pressure of mankind are strong. This points out why the history of the past is relevant to you, even if it helps you to simply see the truth. (“The Writing is on the Wall“; “The Politics of Pride“; “Putting Down the Titanic Pride of Man – Placing Satan Under Your Feet“)

rebuilding JerusalemEzra tells about how YHWH fulfills His promise, even in the physical world of the old kingdom, despite the politics of the day. (Ezra 1:1-6) The second exodus from Babylon might seem less impressive than the first exodus through Moses. In this case, King Cyrus of Persia, who had conquered Babylon, was led to rebuild the Temple of Jews with an official proclamation, against the odds and will of many in opposition. Why? YHWH Almighty was determined to keep the descendants of David alive to fulfill His Word through Yashua [Jesus] the Messiah. (1 Chronicles 1-3; Malachi 5:2; Matthew 1:12-13) YHWH always has a remnant that is protected in His Land of Promise, even when that Land of Promise is a temporary stronghold through opportunity created by the manufacture of man in a certain season. No glory goes to man, but to Elohim of Hosts. (“Serving for YHWH’s Glory“; “The Magi of this Age“; “YHWH’s Promise to His Elect“)

cupbearer king of PersiaNehemiah (‘the comfort of YHWH’), as a contemporary of Ezra and cupbearer of the king of Persia, was allowed to return to Jerusalem to oversee the rebuilding of the city. He faced opposition on many fronts, even among his own countrymen. After the exile to Babylon, the heart of Nehemiah burned to restore Jerusalem. Once he arrived, Nehemiah was able, with capable assistance, to rebuild the city walls in 52 days. This feat showed the enemies of Israel the firm hand of YHWH in the physical world when a few of His people were willing to operate in His Will. Without wall, Jerusalem was a ruin, fully without needed protection in that day. Because of the driving leadership of Nehemiah, YHWH’s people in that day were able to be restored from the Babylon of that day. He fulfilled an important mission, giving up an important earthly position, and his life at Jerusalem was characterized by prayerful dependence on YHWH. (“Redeemed Through Obedience & Faith“; “YHWH’s Faithful: Victory in Spiritual Battle“; “The Power of Prayer Depends On You“)

Even though Messiah was not on the scene in those days, the observant reader sees the witness of Messiah in the conduct and ministry of believers before the time of Messiah. They identified with the plight of their people just as the Master did. In a similar pattern to Nehemiah, Yahshua [Jesus] momentarily gave up the appearance of His position to minister on earth. Regardless of your status in earthly life, you can do the same as the patriarchs, setting an unselfish example as an individual. (“What is the Standard of Life Conduct in a Disciple of Messiah?“; “Spiritual Fruit & Renewing Your Mind“)

Moses nation of IsraelIf a nation of people could not do what YHWH said in that old nation, what makes you believe that the nation you live in, one that professes Christianity or otherwise, will actually do what YHWH says? That’s messed up! The world says that insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. Yet, man keeps doing the same things, on occasion trying to bring about ‘God’s Kingdom’ on earth by themselves when scripture says the opposite is the case. Obedience is essential. It isn’t about worrying about building a ministry for personal honor or for the purpose of a personal legacy. (Nehemiah 6:15-16, 8:8) Life is about building up YHWH’s Kingdom, pointing to the fulfillment of His Kingdom to others while living the moment in the presence of I AM (YHWH, Elohim of Hosts). Bringing your life into line with His righteousness is impossible without true spiritual Biblical upbuilding while growing in spiritual maturity. (“Tribulation of Israel: The Great Escape“; “Filling Your Life with Truth Instead of Deception“; “YHWH’s Track of Righteousness“)

Without question, salvation is personal. The Bible addresses salvation that way. Deliverance is one man, woman and child at a time based wholly on the Word of YHWH. Never give up! You have the authority to invoke the Jubilee of Elohim in your life, to end the slavery of the world. It’s up to you to begin to live it. (“Foundation of Salvation“; “Consenting to Fables of Men“)

* Originally, the Books of Ezra and Nehemiah were all one chronology.
“For YHWH so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16, RNKJV
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending the Messiah, your only begotten Son to be my Savior. I believe in Him and have made this belief the center of my life. Because of this, by faith I have everlasting life! Thank you! I repent of my sins and of my past, freely admitting that I have fallen short of Your glory. I look fully forward to you in my life and commit my life to You. Thank You YHWH, my Heavenly Father for setting me free in the name of your Son Yahshua [Jesus]. Amen.
genuine-articleYou will never enjoy true freedom through the Messiah and power of the Holy Spirit unless you read and absorb the Bible in prayer and trust. You will never know this freedom until you experience it for yourself. Get to know your Heavenly Father, His Son and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. The Holy Spirit is your teacher, your Holy Counselor that lives in you to help you learn about the truth of YHWH and His spiritual gifts.
Satan does not want you to have the excellence of YHWH in your life. People pray for protection and want to be taken care of, but often do little in growing close to Him. The world, your husband, your wife, your family, your government do not build your trust in YHWH or free you from spiritual bondage. Your church or your pastor cannot save you. Education, power and money will not free you, but only the Word of your Heavenly Father. Salvation is a daily walk, an act of love for yourself and for those around you, not a one-time event that centers only on you. Make the Word of YHWH your own, your very life!
YHWH is Yahweh, the covenant name of your Heavenly Father.
The names Yahshua and Yahushua are original language names for Jesus,
He is often referred simply as the Messiah or Master.
