The abomination of desolation is the desecration of the Temple of YHWH by those that oppose the Almighty. The first desecration was when Nebuchadnezzar looted the Temple and took Judeans captive. (2 Chronicles 36) Antiochus Epiphanes sacrificed a pig to Zeus on the Temple altar about 168 B.C. (Daniel 9:27, 11:30-31) After the Temple was burned in 70 A.D. General Titus placed an idol on the current Temple Mount. Six centuries later, Muslim built shrines to their moon goddess and entrenched themselves in the area of Jerusalem. Since the sacrifice of Yahshua [Jesus] the Messiah, each disciple is a temple of the Almighty through the Holy Spirit [Sanctified or Set Apart Spirit], where Satan and his demonic agents seeks to set up false worship and obedience to his kingdom, condemning billions to death because of rebellion to the Most High YHWH, the Elohim of Hosts. An abomination is something that Elohim detests, the strongest language that scripture uses.
Have you every heard of ‘the abomination that causes desolation?’ Mark 13:14 says that the abomination is ‘standing where it does not belong,’ based on the text in Daniel 9:27, ‘on a wing an abomination that causes desolation.’ There is an abomination that causes desolation that few Christians think about. It isn’t just a fantasy or a notion, but a real threat to everything that you claim to stand for. It is far more than prophecy. Multitudes in professed Christianity are living it today.
“Then Yahshua [Jesus] answering, said to them, ‘Beware that no one deceives you because many will come in My Authority saying, ‘I am anointed,’ and will lead many astray… So whenever you see the abomination of desolation spoken through Daniel the prophet set up in the sacred place, read and understand… False messiahs and false prophets will rise up, and bring forth great signs and miracles, so that even the elect could be deceived.” – Matthew 24, verses 4, 5, 15, 24 spotlighted, direct translation
Today, there is an ‘abomination of desolation’ among those that profess faith in Yahshua [Jesus] Messiah. This is a spiritual abomination, corruption that causes desolation and destruction. This spiritual abomination is spiritual idolatry, setting other things above your Heavenly Father and trusting mainly what you see and ‘feel’ in the world around you. Modern society does not identify with lifestyle grounded in idolatry, nor does it have spiritual discernment. The world is not set apart to Elohim [YHWH]. The world is full of deceivers and deceptive circumstances. Only by listening to the counsel of the Messiah, holding to the accurate knowledge of the Bible, and becoming new through the Sanctified [Set-Apart, ‘Holy’] Spirit versus traditions of man, can the elect of the Messiah escape being ruined. (“Discernment the World Doesn’t Have“; “Discernment: Having an Ear to Deeper Understanding“; “Filling Your Life with Truth Instead of Deception“)
Today, the sanctified disciple is the tabernacle, the sacred place of the Holy Spirit, the temple of YHWH’s Kingdom. (John 14:23; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 2 Corinthians 6:16; Romans 8:9-11; 12:1) You don’t need a temple or sacrificial animals. The sacrifice of Yahshua [Jesus] has taken care of the old Jewish lifestyle that today’s religious authority of Israel wants to bring back. (Isaiah 42; Matthew 5-7; Ezekiel 18:25-29; Hebrews 10:6) The world is that way. Religion of man is the same. In the same way, people that profess to be Christians can be part of the world because of unbelief and ignorance. It’s as simple as embracing things of the world or, put another way, painting a Christian stamp of approval on certain things in the world that appear beneficial to ‘Christian faith,’ but have a taste of the world. In a deceived mindset, a disciple may not realize his or her trust is misplaced. Disciples are meant to mature spiritually, to have active discernment, not to remain as ‘baby Christians’ for eternity with full dependency on earthly ‘pastoral authority’ for their compass. Scripture and the Holy Spirit are the spiritual compass for every disciple. (“YHWH’s Prayer Shawl of Protection“; “Break Down Walls of Darkness with Prayer“; “Prayer & Life in Messiah“)
Another favorite of the religious is legalism and justification of certain worldly practices and viewpoints. Christians can look at the world and point the finger at the world to justify and build up, in an effort to immunize self. ‘I am no part of the world. I have a heavenly hope,’ you say. As you point at the world, the finger that you point is often pointing squarely back at you. You just haven’t noticed it yet. That is because discipleship isn’t simply wishful thinking, but a lifestyle and trust that is active. (“Discipleship is Renewal“; “Disciples of Messiah: You are a Spiritual Watchman“; “Christian: Your Basis of Trust“)
A profoundly important message for the sanctified of Elohim [YHWH] lies in the small book of Jude. Jude sent an urgent message to the gatherings of believers in his day. Among first century disciples, the world had crept into the assembly. They were entrusted to keep the true gospel in their heart, but many that had joined ‘the Way’ were less than honest with their trust, quietly subverting, twisting their belief to things of the world instead of being set apart to the Father. Jude is speaking the same word to disciples in this century, as popular traditions and ideas have made their way into Christianity, without much notice beyond general acceptance by the multitude. These spiritual toxins threaten their foundation of scriptural truth, that is, if a measure of true faith still exists among many gatherings that claim the Bible as the Word of YHWH. Many professed Christians today aren’t even aware that Elohim Almighty has a name! (“Heavenly Father Has A Name“; “Consenting to Fables of Men“; “Are You a Christian First or Last?“)
Jude promptly points out in verse 5, that YHWH delivered the nation of Israel from Egypt, but was forced to destroy all that refused to believe. After 40 years, only a younger generation plus two from out of millions of older generations were allowed to enter the land that YHWH had promised. (Numbers 14:29-30; Deuteronomy 1:26-39) Old patterns of thinking died hard, even in the rarified atmosphere of the desert. The multitudes of the nation hardened their hearts against YHWH. This emphasizes the importance of belief and acceptance of YHWH’s Word into your personal lifestyle and attitude. There is clearly no substitute!
Jude reminds all what is held in store for rebellious unbelievers that substitute deception for truth, both in heaven and on earth. Unbelief results in the second death, as well as eternal alienation from YHWH. (Genesis 2:17; Mark 8:12; 1 Corinthians 6:9; Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 5:5; Romans 8:12; Revelation 20:14; 21:8) For many, this means nothing, since they don’t know YHWH anyway. As a result, they feel rather indifferent about this judgment. The message of their Heavenly Father doesn’t reach their hardened hearts. They feel little or nothing for Him. They may even scoff at Him. Why not, for many fail to see any fruit in the lifestyles of so many that claim to follow Yahshua [Jesus]. They hear and read, but truth fails to ring in their hearts or show in their lives. (“The Unpardonable Sin“; “Messiah Teaches about Fruit in the Lives of People“; “A Hidden Lifestyle Message from Messiah“; “Living in an Apostate World“)
“But these blaspheme that which they do not know. And that which they know naturally, like unreasoning beasts, in these they corrupt themselves.” – Jude 1:10, ISR98
Like the bad shepherds of Ezekiel 34, these vile ‘disciples’ are like the shepherds that feed only themselves. They are sterile and fruitless, like clouds without rain or uprooted trees that produce no fruit, like a grape vine that doesn’t produce. How many Christians do you witness that bear no fruit for YHWH beyond their simple trip to church? They simply sit in pews and forget what is heard when they hit the doors on their way out. Their lives are full of strife. They may argue for their own mind and opinions alone, refusing to be truly set apart to their Heavenly Father. They spout the humanism and nationalism that is part of an antichrist [antimessiah] substitute gospel that they have come to know and give lip service to. (“Wisdom & the Battle of Two Kingdoms“; “Spiritual Prostitution & the Solution“; “What Is Washing By The Word?“)
“These are grumblers, complainers, who walk according to their own lusts, and their mouth speaks proudly, admiring faces of others for the sake of gain.” – Jude 1:16, ISR98
Many bad shepherds seek to lead others. These bad shepherds may look like stars, Christian counterparts to the stars of the world. They appear wise and charismatic. They may seduce you with doctrines of men, their own laws that are loosely based in scripture. They may plead with you for money to support their lavish lifestyles in the name of ministry. Jude emphasizes that these stars are grounded in their own shameful conduct, doomed for destruction. Since the time of Yahshua [Jesus], how many have sought to divide and sway people for their own advantage and influence in the ‘name of Christ?’ How many continue to do so? (“The False Shepherd and the True Shepherd“; “Which Shepherd Do You Believe?“)
This fits with what Yahshua [Jesus] said:
“Enter in through the narrow gate. Because wide is the gate and spacious the road, put to death through destruction, and many, by their reason, agree to enter. For narrow is the gate and troublesome is the road, the one that leads to life, and few agree to obtain it.“ – Matthew 7:13-14. direct translation
Jude calls those with receptive hearts to persevere, to continue.
“But you, beloved ones, building yourselves up on your most set-apart belief, praying in the Set-apart [‘Holy’] Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of Elohim, looking for the compassion of our Master Yahshua Messiah unto everlasting life. And show compassion toward some who are doubting, but others save with fear, snatching them out of the fire, hating, even the garment defiled by the flesh“ – Jude 1:20-23, ISR98
In brotherhood, disciples are urged to look after one another in faith, to pray and humbly submit to the Holy Spirit in respect and love for one another. He urges disciples to hate what is soiled by the world, as well as to wake up those that are spiritually asleep or spiritually dead, if they will listen. (“The Importance of Practical Repentance“)
In the same way that the nation of Israel didn’t understand, or in many cases, seek to understand the Word of YHWH, Christians often have, and do the same thing. The Jews added mysticism and their own ways through history. Christians, from the time of the first century, have done the same thing, corrupting the truth that they had. Why? (Ezekiel 22:26; Daniel 9:13; Jeremiah 31:33) YHWH’s law was not being taught or it was not being respected or understood by the people; and so we go. (“Strongholds & the Armor of YHWH“; “Refining Your Heart“; “Healing Wounds That People Can’t See“; “Choosing to Serve YHWH, Not Man“)
Hebrews 8:6 and Hebrews 9:15 spotlight promises for those that are willing to listen, while allowing YHWH’s Word to work in their lives. This is obedience through love, not pretense, pride, legalism or religiosity. The new covenant provided by Yahshua [Jesus] is based on the same laws that were given in the Old Testament, without Jewish mysticism and writings of interpretation. To further cement faith and discernment through accurate knowledge and prayer, Romans 8 describes the Holy Spirit working within the heart and mind of the faithful disciple. In counterpoint, Romans 8:7 points out that a carnal mind is an act of enmity against YHWH. (2 Peter 3:16; Ephesians 2:14-16; “Listening to the Holy Spirit“; “Are You Rejecting YHWH’s Holy Spirit?“)
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.” – Ezekiel 36:26-27
YHWH longed for His nation of that day to have a new heart for Him, even though most never did, nor wanted to. Many were insincere, merely trifling with YHWH and the idea of faith. Through Yahshua [Jesus] the Messiah, He longs for you to have a new heart for Him, to be made new through His Spirit. The new man in Messiah, through the Holy Spirit, longs to live the Word. Will you put down the old man along with his old conditioned behaviors and mindsets? Who will you trust, or are you still divided, wavering between two opinions?
All the principles of YHWH’s Word are law, written on the heart of an active, faithful disciple. (Psalm 119:142; Matthew 5:17, 18) “But He answering, said, ‘It has been written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of YHWH’”- Matthew 4:4, ISR98
In 1 Peter 2:21, Peter says we should follow in Messiah’s steps, after His example. Paul told the body in Corinth to imitate him as he followed Messiah (1 Corinthians 11:1). Paul tells the Philippians to think like Yahshua [Jesus] (Philippians 2:5). We need to seek to have the mind of the Messiah. Yahshua [Jesus] came to express the full meaning of YHWH’s law. He did not void the commandments in rebellion against His Father. He wants you and me to do the same, to be free from spiritual abomination. Christians don’t seek spiritual adultery and idolatry. They seek the Father’s discernment and wisdom. They seek the Holy Spirit. They seek YHWH’s presence in life and lifestyle. (“The Idolatry Factor“)
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever” – John 14:12-16
This is why much of Christianity is in trouble. Multitudes do not have accurate knowledge or understanding. They do not follow the advice of Yahshua [Jesus] regarding belief. They do not take their Heavenly Father’s Word to heart. Instead, they choose to live in unbelief. So many that teach don’t actually belief what they teach, or if they do, they limit YHWH and His Bible principles by what they believe. What they believe or teach may be in error and not grounded in accurate knowledge of scripture. Beliefs may be grounded wholly in ideas of man that have taken place since the first century and over the last two-thousand years. Even religious reformations of the past haven’t rooted out the corruption in Christian since the time of Yahshua [Jesus] the Master. Many bad shepherds (Matthew 7:15-23) have grounded Christians in corruption and misinformation. This corruption has not been completely repaired in multitudes of Christians to Satan’s great pleasure. Christians continue to play into the deceiver’s hand when they don’t seek the truth of YHWH. (“Life Healing and Belief“; “Disciple of Messiah: Live Your Belief“; “Condemnation, Dogs & Hogs“)
A great number of Christians live in a secular society where multitudes are more heavily influenced by secularism and humanism than by the faith they profess. Many believe in business more than YHWH. They mix their Heavenly Father with the world, and do not seek to separate the two kingdoms. They are immersed in a slavery mentality, bowing to fear of what might happen instead of living under the protection of YHWH’s wings of prayer and power. They substitute nationalism for the Father’s love and provision. (“The War on Reality“; “A Doctrine of Demons“; “Mind Control of the Beast“)
YHWH promised greater works as a result of belief and actions for His promises, as well as through the willingness to receive His Holy Spirit. He has given disciples a Helper, but many turn Him away. Most Christians don’t believe and live in the gifts of YHWH’s Spirit. Humans limit YHWH through lack of humility and hardened hearts that cannot understand His Spirit. (“Humility: Do You Need It?“)
Multitudes limit their Heavenly Father by putting Him in a box. “Oh, we can’t put ‘God’ in a box, for He is Almighty,” you say! Yet, how many do this very thing through lack of belief?
True believers have a heart for YHWH, much as Moses did; a friend of his Heavenly Father. (Exodus 33:12-19: John 14:21; 15:15; Luke 16:13) True believers are still part of YHWH’s original Abrahamic covenant. He promised to bless and care for them. The people promised to obey and the covenant was sealed. (Genesis 19:5-8) Good intentions of the people in Israel quickly wore off. The same is true with the multitude today.
While YHWH is Almighty, He made humans a promise of free moral agency. (Proverbs 1:29,30; 23:7; Deuteronomy 28:15-20,45; Matthew 11:28; Revelation 3:20) You have choice. He will not make you believe. He will not make you obey. That is up to you. You must choose life. You must choose to love. (John 14:15; 14:23-24; 1 John 5:3) You must be willing to open your heart and seek His ways, to seek His presence. (Deuteronomy 30:19; Exodus 33:12-19) This is for your protection and benefit as YHWH removes bondage from your life based on your personal belief. Unbelief, like belief through an active Christian lifestyle, bears much fruit and personal witness (Exodus 34:10-12) Through personal action, yes obedience, you show your Heavenly Father which kingdom you belong to. (“Freedom from Spiritual Bondage“; “YHWH’s Revolution“)
