The Politics of Pride

by John and Ruth Greene

proud manThe world is full of people that are full of pride. Pride is often paraded as a noteworthy goal, something to revel in. The truth of scripture says something else. Pride is deadly. Pride is deceptive. It deceives the one possessing it. When a person is deceived, that deception can easily lead to many things, death being among them. How many men and women have rode off into death in the name of war, as the political culture paraded their bravery and virtue? Pride is the tool of national expression. Pride is the tool of corporations. Pride is often the tool of religion. All are inventions of man centered around jealousy, envy and fear. (“Opposing Fear“; “Overcoming Fear during Tough Times“; “Fear & YHWH’s Protection“)

In America, the populace has been taught about the glories being self-sufficiennt, to take pride in working hard. This view is paraded about because it keeps you from asking for help when you need it. It also can keep you from using your mind to think outside the box. It keeps people in their place, hopefully working for the glory of the nation. In the minds of millions, if you aren’t slaving after your job, you are lazy and shiftless. Some politics champions this work ethic. Work-a-holism is considered by many to be a virtue. The nation has come to depend on that viewpoint, evidenced by a workforce of men and women that, in general, receive much less in wages, vacation time, benefits and respect than the workers of most prosperous European nations. A prosperous lifestyle is held out to be the “American Dream” as more Americans discover their reality is that of a “third world nation” as the national infrastructure falls apart. Unrighteous law and apostate philosophies, such as eugenics, are destroying what is left of a society that “a nation of law” claims to protect. (Ezekiel 12:1; Deuteronomy 28; 2 Kings 25:3-7; Jeremiah 52:11; 2 Peter 3:8-10) Judgment always comes and soon the fruit of each member of mankind will be set forever, along with the judgment of nations. Time is running short. YHWH’s Kingdom is certain, whether you seek it or not. (“A Divine Warning for Christian America“; “End Times: Talk of Fear & Conspiracy“; “Delusion & the Tightening Noose of the Beast System“)

“For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips, let them even be taken in their pride, and for the cursing and lying which they speak.” – Psalm 59:12, NKJV

obama-prideToday, the characters that call themselves, or are known as politicians, have a pride problem, rooted in self-sufficiency, as they sell self-sufficiency and benefits for all. They proclaim the sufficiency of government and the culture of the nation as god. They worship through a spirit of nationalism. Never mind that the government depends on the income and taxes of its people for sufficiency. Without people, government can do nothing. In fact, the government that we know is people, people in authority, often by force. People used to define culture, but today, the people in government have used Madison Avenue style advertising to persuade and influence for the benefit of government. This same government often promotes the idea of providing for those that are less self-sufficient. Regardless of reality, for politics, it’s all about image and the ability to manipulate truth to achieve a desired result, the continuation of more governance. People that live in these nations often fail to realize how far away from the Heavenly Father, YHWH, all of this is, including their own distance from being completed by the Messiah. Pride is self-worship, idolatry in a world where most everyone wants to be special, or at the very least, to feel better about self. (1 Corinthians 13:4; “The Idolatry Factor“)

“He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but he who walks wisely is delivered.” – Proverbs 28:26, ISR98

proudA proud person reinvents reality in his own image. He concerns, worries after how good he looks. He boosts himself above others. He redraws the borders of human behavior to suit himself, making himself his own god, casting aside YHWH, the Elohim of Hosts. By doing this, the pride of the proud one spits in the face of the Messiah and His sacrifice. The proud fool is out of touch with reality. The reality is that YHWH is the lawgiver of all mankind and ultimately will control the outcome of mankind, even if politicians and world leaders disagree. (Isaiah 14:24) In Ezekiel 12, YHWH promises to cut short the days of Israel because of their rebellion. The last days of man’s system are no different. Satan, like the men and women that follow after him, are fools destined for the Lake of Fire, eternal separation from YHWH and eternal destruction. (2 Thessalonians 1:9; 2 Peter 3:11-14; Revelation 20:9-15; recommended reading: Ezekiel 12:1-28)

Consider the words on Nebuchadnezzar’s lips in Daniel 4:30 before YHWH put him out to pasture for a season,

“Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?” (NKJV)

liberty-pride-deception-bwWe already know from reading the Biblical account that the King of Babylon wasn’t wrapped too tight. Regardless of when he might choose to listen to YHWH and His servants, he thought more highly of himself that he ought and was easily swayed by his advisers. The politicians of the day aren’t much different and each has his own set of unique personalities and flaws that they seek to salve as they proclaim peace, to make them popular. (Ezekiel 13:1-23) Leaders of many kinds pretend to follow the advice of Mark 9:35, popularly called “servant leadership.” (“The Bible & Higher Authority“; “Spiritual Authority & Satan’s Wheels of Destruction“; “The Road to Enslavement“; “Freedom in an Enslaved World“)

god of all things-shiva the recreator“‘Because they lead my people astray, saying, “Peace,” when there is no peace, and because, when a flimsy wall is built, they cover it with whitewash, therefore tell those who cover it with whitewash that it is going to fall. Rain will come in torrents, and I will send hailstones hurtling down, and violent winds will burst forth. When the wall collapses, will people not ask you, “Where is the whitewash you covered it with?” – Ezekiel 13:10-13, NKJV

Consider the following from Newsweek’s website, The Daily Beast, after Jon Meacham interviewed Barack Obama. President Obama isn’t openly claiming godhood just yet, but the author of the article  is elevating the President as a national god:

“What he has learned is that he likes, and enjoys, power—the capacity to shape reality in his image and by his lights—and that he finds crisis defining, bracing and useful. That a president feels suited to power is hardly a startling observation, but that Obama so revels in it—in the understated way Obama revels in anything—confounds the competing popular impressions of his persona.”

“In Obama’s universe, strength and subtlety are not mutually exclusive. He may make the wrong call—things could go disastrously awry, at home or abroad, on his watch—but one of the most interesting and underappreciated things to emerge from these early days is how comfortable Obama is in making the call. He savors exercising the power of the presidency. Woodrow Wilson described the office as “the vital place of action in the system.” From the financial sector to the automobile industry to terrorism, Obama has personally taken on those institutional characteristics. He is the action.” (Daniel 5:20; Psalm 10:4; Proverbs 11:2, 13:10, 16:5, 19, 18:12; Obadiah 1:3; Isaiah 2:11, 13:11, 19, 23:9)

spiritual captivityWe have nothing personal against any politician or person in authority. We pray for them with the idea that they will see the error of their ways, voluntarily removing their lives from the pride and power that holds them captive to Satan. (Luke 16:15, 18:9-14; John 5:44; Romans 12:3; Galatians 5:25-26) They are men that have been placed in authority, whether you believe that they were elected by the people, or drafted by a secret society of some kind. (2 Chronicles 7:14; 1 Timothy 2:2-4) It matters not. YHWH’s purpose will be accomplished in the earth of man’s creation, despite the desire of men to fulfill prophecy in their own minds, creating a grand deception. This earth needs Bible truth and the salvation that only the Elohim of Hosts can provide. We point at the Bible for truth in the matter. (Matthew 23:12; Luke 1:52, 14:7-11) As we do this, we look forward to a kingdom that is not fully birthed in this world, YHWH’s Kingdom. Christians are called to something better than personal downfall through a spirit of pride. The way the world has been presented to you is no less than deception. It’s is up to you to desire, then to act to root out that deception. The Elohim of Hosts asks that you open your eyes to His truth so that you can be saved in the name of the Messiah, Yahshua [Jesus]. (Deuteronomy 30:19; Psalm 149:4; Proverbs 22:4, 25:9, 26:12, 28:25-26, 29:23, 30:32; Isaiah 5:21; Micah 6:8; Matthew 7:24-27, 18:3-4;  Luke 6:46-49, 8:21;  Romans 2:13; Hebrews 4:11; Revelation 22:14; “Government and the Law of Nations“)

“And become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Because if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror, for he looks at himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what he was like.” – James 1:22-24, ISR98

“For YHWH so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16, RNKJV
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending the Messiah, your only begotten Son to be my Savior. I believe in Him and have made this belief the center of my life. Because of this, by faith I have everlasting life! Thank you! I repent of my sins and of my past, freely admitting that I have fallen short of Your glory. I look fully forward to you in my life and commit my life to You. Thank You YHWH, my Heavenly Father for setting me free in the name of your Son Yahshua [Jesus]. Amen.
genuine-articleYou will never enjoy true freedom through the Messiah and power of the Holy Spirit unless you read and absorb the Bible in prayer and trust. You will never know this freedom until you experience it for yourself. Get to know your Heavenly Father, His Son and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. The Holy Spirit is your teacher, your Holy Counselor that lives in you to help you learn about the truth of YHWH and His spiritual gifts.
Satan does not want you to have the excellence of YHWH in your life. People pray for protection and want to be taken care of, but often do little in growing close to Him. The world, your husband, your wife, your family, your government do not build your trust in YHWH or free you from spiritual bondage. Your church or your pastor cannot save you. Education, power and money will not free you, but only the Word of your Heavenly Father. Salvation is a daily walk, an act of love for yourself and for those around you, not a one-time event that centers only on you. Make the Word of YHWH your own, your very life!
YHWH is Yahweh, the covenant name of your Heavenly Father.
The names Yahshua and Yahushua are original language names for Jesus,
He is often referred simply as the Messiah or Master.
