Power of the Right Hand

by John and Ruth Greene

right hand

When the Bible mentions the right hand, it most often refers the hand of authority or power. Each man, woman or child has authority or power based on his or her belief. In scripture, this is based on the understanding or lack of understanding of YHWH’s Word. Whether this ‘right hand’ of authority refers to YHWH’s authority or to your hand, this authority is what you dedicate yourself to. The principle of your hand (cheir G5495, yamiyn H3225, yad H3027) as your power or authority is used repeatedly, throughout scripture. It is what you do or how you live your life. (Matthew 5:30; Revelation 13:16; see complete listing below)

Your right (G1188) or right hand is your seat of spiritual authority, your decision making power. This is relevant today. You bear your spiritual authority through your personal choice or decisions, but this does not decide rightness or justice in the eyes of YHWH Almighty. Putting Yahshua [Jesus] or the ‘Messiah’ as a label on a personal or ‘corporate’ decision doesn’t set a standard either. Labeling the decisions of man by rationalizing them isn’t the Father’s Way. Our Almighty Father has set Bible standards for all to live by, which cannot be changed. This shouldn’t be troubling but reassuring. By knowing the heart of your Heavenly Father, each disciple of Messiah can operate within those standards to the degree that is humanly possible. (“YHWH Loves His People“; “How YHWH Marks His People“; “YHWH’s Track of Righteousness“; “YHWH’s Revolution“)

The right hand is a place of distinction and favor (Genesis 48:13-19) as opposed to judgment or punishment. (Matthew 25:33) The right hand is a place of wisdom (Elohim’s wisdom) as opposed to foolishness, the knowledge of the world [kosmos]. (Ecclesiastes 10:2) The right hand indicates the direction of the south and the left hand the north when facing the sun. (1 Samuel 23:19, 24; 2 Samuel 24:5) The right hand indicates honor. (1 Kings 2:19; Psalm 45:9; Galatians 2:9) The relation of the right hand is important in protection. (Psalm 16:8; 73:23; 109:31; 110:5; 121:5). The right hand is often more targeted by the enemy. (Job 30:12; Psalm 109:6; Zechariah 3:1) Giving the right hand after a battle symbolized submission to the victor. (Ezekiel 17:18; Jeremiah 50:15) The right hand is the place of power and strength. (Psalm 60:5; 63:8; 108:6; 118:15,16; 110:1; Isaiah 28:2; Matthew 22:44; Matthew 20:21,23) When the authority of the right hand is combined with the left hand, it shows close association or intimacy (Matthew 5:39; Mark 10:37; “Video – Wisdom of YHWH, Wisdom of Man“; “Unfair Favor? The Grace of YHWH’s Vineyard“).

Word of our FatherThe actions of each person are determined through the personal power of your hand, which is a personal mark, either for or against the Almighty [YHWH]. This is, by extension, what you believe or whether you believe or trust in your Heavenly Father. Your judgment depends on whether you are set apart to Him. This isn’t based on what we say, but based on what He decides. The sacrifice of Yahshua [Jesus] the Messiah has done something special for all mankind. Through His sacrifice, YHWH considers all close to him until judgment is made for each person based on His righteous standards. (“Life Healing and Belief“; “The Journey of Life through Scripture“; “Filling Your Life with Truth Instead of Deception“; “Holy Spirit 101“)

Revelation 10:2 and he set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the earth

The overwhelming conclusion through the study of these scriptures is this: through the Messiah, all mankind is brought close to our Heavenly Father until judgment is rendered on their life fruit, personal trust exhibited during life unto the end. The Messiah completes mankind so that YHWH can uphold sinful mankind until the Messiah judges them, instead of judging them outright as worthy only of death. That terminal death sentence is exactly what men and women get without trusting the Messiah and the Sanctified [Set Apart, Holy] Spirit as personal Counselor. In this way, you can appreciate how important Bible truth is, as well as how rare it is at the end of this age. YHWH’s right hand always signifies His power and righteousness, His omnipotence. The power of man as he lives also signifies his power, given by YHWH to express trust in Him, or the lack of any trust. This is important knowledge in understanding YHWH’s Word and Bible prophecy. “For YHWH so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16, RNKJV
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending the Messiah, your only begotten Son to be my Savior. I believe in Him and have made this belief the center of my life. Because of this, by faith I have everlasting life! Thank you! I repent of my sins and of my past, freely admitting that I have fallen short of Your glory. I look fully forward to you in my life and commit my life to You. Thank You YHWH, my Heavenly Father for setting me free in the name of your Son Yahshua [Jesus]. Amen.
genuine-articleYou will never enjoy true freedom through the Messiah and power of the Holy Spirit unless you read and absorb the Bible in prayer and trust. You will never know this freedom until you experience it for yourself. Get to know your Heavenly Father, His Son and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. The Holy Spirit is your teacher, your Holy Counselor that lives in you to help you learn about the truth of YHWH and His spiritual gifts.
Satan does not want you to have the excellence of YHWH in your life. People pray for protection and want to be taken care of, but often do little in growing close to Him. The world, your husband, your wife, your family, your government do not build your trust in YHWH or free you from spiritual bondage. Your church or your pastor cannot save you. Education, power and money will not free you, but only the Word of your Heavenly Father. Salvation is a daily walk, an act of love for yourself and for those around you, not a one-time event that centers only on you. Make the Word of YHWH your own, your very life!
YHWH is Yahweh, the covenant name of your Heavenly Father.
The names Yahshua and Yahushua are original language names for Jesus,
He is often referred simply as the Messiah or Master.
