His Eye is on the Sparrow

by John and Ruth Greene

helping handTrust can be a challenging thing, especially when you have never learned to truly trust before. The world is void of it and for most the word ‘trust’ bears only a certain level of meaning. Bible truth tells us of the need for trust in our Heavenly Father. He is your only true provider. How many disciples of the Messiah really believe that when the rubber meets the road? Many a Christian has slaved and worried about sustaining themselves and a family, and in this world it is understandable since the world knows little or nothing about YHWH your provider. In this way, most every man and woman tends to ‘sell YHWH short.’ There is not one of us that still doesn’t have plenty to learn, but each disciple has His assurance. (“Abiding in Trust“; “Abiding With YHWH in Quiet Places“; “Abiding with Your Heavenly Father“)

70f9f-newmaninchristThe purpose of YHWH’s people throughout history has been to search for righteousness and to build it within themselves and their brothers of like faith, instead of compromising their principles with their world. The temptation is to desire “a break,” just as the wicked of the world often receive through their sin and arrogance. When everyone else is doing it, why not me? In this way, YHWH’s people often decide that they don’t want to be set apart. They begin to adopt, often without question, the ways of the world. (Romans 12:1-3; Micah 7:1-20) What YHWH’s people have faced with the prevailing world attitude around them hasn’t changed much over the centuries. The society of man is only ‘righteous’ in the light that it benefits personal interest, borne of manipulation and corruption. The society of man is typically a dark pit; a blight. (1 Timothy 6:17-19; Proverbs 29:25; Psalm 112:5-8; Isaiah 50:10; “Book: Affairs of the Heart“; “A Mind of Envy and Competition“; “The Truth About Anger“)

attitude is everythingLike Micah, Christians are to be watchmen, apostles and prophets that point out the need to abide in the Father, with provision now through the Messiah and the Sanctified [Set Apart, Holy] Spirit. The only way to purify YHWH’s people is through His instruction, putting on the new man in Messiah while opening your heart to the Holy Spirit, and finally through His judgment. (Micah 6:8) Today is just as it was in Micah’s day where (Micah 7:3-6, 13) YHWH points the way to lead His people out of darkness into His light. (Acts 26:18) The isn’t about perfection, since no human is truly faithful. YHWH, your Heavenly Father does long for the wicked to obtain His righteousness. (Micah 7:7-9; 1 Corinthians 1:9, 10:13; 1 John 1:9; Matthew 6:19-21) Righteousness comes from YHWH alone as His righteousness sounds down into your heart through active trust and through learning to live YHWH’s Word instead of the dictates of society. (Luke 3:11-14; Matthew 3:8; Revelation 3:19)

holy spiritThrough the Messiah and the assistance of the Holy Spirit, you are cleansed and reborn as a new man in Messiah. YHWH’s Word needs to be in your heart. (Matthew 6:33; John 14:21; Philippians 3:7-8; Colossians 3:1-14; Proverbs 7:2) This provision is much better than the provisions for YHWH’s people in old Israel. You can have confidence! Your trust validates you! The decision is yours as you continue to abide in Him! Elohim of Hosts has done and continues to do His part because of His great love. Repentance [think differently; change your mind; walk away from your sins] is required as you seek Bible truth through Yahshua [Jesus] Messiah instead of your old nature and the nature of the world. (Acts 17:30; Luke 24:47; 2 Peter 3:9; Ezekiel 18:30-32; “Breaking the Strongholds of Egypt and Canaan in Your Heart“; “Disciple: Renewing the Mind“; “Spiritual Fruit & Renewing Your Mind“)

In this way, as disciples, we must remember:

“A taught one is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for the taught one to become like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beʽelzebul, how much more those of his household! Therefore do not fear them. For whatever is covered shall be revealed, and whatever is hidden shall be made known. What I say to you in the dark, speak in the light. And what you hear in the ear, proclaim on the house-tops.

And do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the being. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both being and body in Gehenna. Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground without your Father. And even the hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear, you are worth more than many sparrows. ” – Matthew 10:24-31, ISR98 (Luke 12:4-7)

repentanceDespite your importance to YHWH, probing questions exist that each disciple must ask personally. How much am I like the Messiah? Who is my teacher? Are you following Messiah’s rules or your own? How do you know? Only you can answer this question, for nobody else on the planet has the authority to judge you until Yahshua [Jesus] the Master does. Remember that your spiritual fruit is an indicator. Whether you are able to listen to the Holy Spirit as your Counselor is another. Your spiritual fruit will help you to be ready during tough times that sometimes come when you least expect them. (“Disciple: The Pattern of Your Life“; “Overcoming Fear during Tough Times“; “You Are A Living Masterpiece“)

During times of trial, disciples of Messiah have all manner of insults and oppression cast upon them. Yahshua [Jesus] suffered at times, so His servants will suffer. (Isaiah 40:28-31) Christians must expect trouble, not only from magistrates in local councils, but from judges, governors, kings and presidents. (Matthew 10:17-18, 21; Luke 12:11-12; Ecclesiastes 3:16) These ‘public servants’ are often self-deceived, claiming to do good works for their constituents or subjects. Remember also that Satan’s sworn servants do his will, often pretending to fight against him. Self-righteous and controlling people will cast their behaviors and attributes on you with idea of subduing you entirely through guilt and abuse, with the expectation of getting your compliance. They may create and endorse ‘laws’ to accomplish this end. (“The Beast Seduction of the Masses“)

childlike attitude with YHWHTribulation is nothing new to mankind. Like the world, YHWH’s people will have tribulation, and not necessarily at the same time or in the same way. With a world in turmoil, uncertainty is part of life. When Christians rest in YHWH’s Word, they are protected from many problems that the world has through the certainty of Yahshua [Jesus]. (1 Timothy 6:6-10) While He came to bring peace (well-being: eirene, shalom), it is not the kind of peace that the world knows or truly understands. His Word will divide households, even nations. Why? The Word is a sword that divides those that want YHWH’s Kingdom and those that don’t. (Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16-17) His peace is personal, just as salvation is.

bible-faithMore importantly, compromise and outright rejection of Bible truth are certain to separate you from YHWH’s promises and provision. (Matthew 10:34-36, 37-40; 2 Corinthians 12:9; 1 Peter 2:24, 5:7; Psalm 55:22) That is why you need to continually feed on YHWH’s Word instead of what the world knows and says. (1 Corinthians 1:27, 3:19, 4:10; 2 Timothy 2:23) A childlike attitude of humility where YHWH is concerned is also vital. (“Cultivating YHWH’s Grace as You Seek Truth“; “YHWH is Your Shield and Salvation“; “Psalm 91: Lifestyle & Protection“; “Praise Through Times of Trouble“)

YHWH carries His people through all circumstances:
1: lacking necessities (Philippians 4:4-7);
2: feeling useless (Isaiah 55:11);
3: in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9);
4: not persevering (Philippians 1:6; Hebrews 7:25);
5: in decisions (Psalm 32:8);
6: in face of opponents (Romans 8:31);
7: in affliction (Psalm 34:19; Romans 5:3-5);
8: aging (Isaiah 46:4);
9: dying (Rom. 14:7-9).

“Because of this I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you shall eat or drink, or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than the food and the body more than the clothing? Look at the birds of the heaven, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into storehouses, yet your heavenly Father does feed them. Are you not worth more than they? And which of you by worrying is able to add one cubit to his life’s span?” – Matthew 6:25-27, ISR98

Yahshua [Jesus] promises that all that is needed will be revealed at the appropriate time. Elohim [YHWH] takes care of even the smallest of creatures. He considers as important the number of hairs on your head because you hold that much value to Him. He is vitally concerned with your life. Your well-being is important. He wants you to be part of His Kingdom. You must not fear because the YHWH, the Elohim of Hosts takes astonishing care of those that He loves. (Romans 5:1-5; Matthew 10:16, 22; John 15:25; Romans 12:19; 1 Corinthians 4:13; 1 Samuel 14:45) YHWH is the source of all sanctified disciples of Messiah. When you abide in Him through Yahshua [Jesus], He’s your source too. He promises to supply your needs while serve Him. (“Living in an Apostate World“; “Scriptures: Do Not Fear“; “Fear & YHWH’s Protection“)

“But seek first the reign of Elohim, and His righteousness, and all these matters shall be added to you.” – Matthew 6:33, ISR98

“For YHWH so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16, RNKJV
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending the Messiah, your only begotten Son to be my Savior. I believe in Him and have made this belief the center of my life. Because of this, by faith I have everlasting life! Thank you! I repent of my sins and of my past, freely admitting that I have fallen short of Your glory. I look fully forward to you in my life and commit my life to You. Thank You YHWH, my Heavenly Father for setting me free in the name of your Son Yahshua [Jesus]. Amen.
genuine-articleYou will never enjoy true freedom through the Messiah and power of the Holy Spirit unless you read and absorb the Bible in prayer and trust. You will never know this freedom until you experience it for yourself. Get to know your Heavenly Father, His Son and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. The Holy Spirit is your teacher, your Holy Counselor that lives in you to help you learn about the truth of YHWH and His spiritual gifts.
Satan does not want you to have the excellence of YHWH in your life. People pray for protection and want to be taken care of, but often do little in growing close to Him. The world, your husband, your wife, your family, your government do not build your trust in YHWH or free you from spiritual bondage. Your church or your pastor cannot save you. Education, power and money will not free you, but only the Word of your Heavenly Father. Salvation is a daily walk, an act of love for yourself and for those around you, not a one-time event that centers only on you. Make the Word of YHWH your own, your very life!
YHWH is Yahweh, the covenant name of your Heavenly Father.
The names Yahshua and Yahushua are original language names for Jesus,
He is often referred simply as the Messiah or Master.
