Called to Have Confidence in Messiah

by John & Ruth Greene

bible-hug-internetThe Apostle loved his brothers and sisters in Messiah, expressing his true heart with his friends in Philippi. (Philippians 3:20) They were his joy and crown, as much as earthly friends could be. He wanted to them to rejoice rather than to be bound by division, quarreling and useless self-importance. (Luke 10:17-20; Revelation 20:11-15; “How YHWH Marks His People“; “Giving to Others While Trusting in YHWH for Your Needs“)

“Rejoice in Yahweh always: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Sovereign is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto Elohim. And the peace of Elohim, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through the Messiah Yahshua.” – Philippians 4:4-7, WoY

He longed for them to be of like mind in Yahshua [Jesus] Messiah instead of being strong willed in small-minded thinking and opinion that creates strife and destroys relationship. (Philippians 4:3; Matthew 6:33) They were to be active participants for the Kingdom of Elohim [YHWH] through the power of the Holy Spirit, what is often considered as citizenship. The Greek word for citizenship is “politeuma,” which indicates active involvement and active intent through confidence in YHWH and His provisions. Sitting on the sidelines or straddling the fence is not an option for those that love the provisions of Heaven. Straddling the fence shows indecision and fear. Elohim’s people have a work to do, a fight against dark spirit forces that rule mankind. (Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 6:12; 2 Corinthians 4:4, 10:3-4) What you see into today’s professed body of Messiah is often rampant abuse and embarrassment. The authors of this article say that you know abuse when you experience it, a “church” that is based almost exclusively on appearances. Religious legalism can make you a castaway, but this isn’t the mind of Messiah, nor is this thinking a part of the real body or gathering of the Messiah. Religion is this way because appearances are what professed Christians know in a world of flesh. Confidence in the provision of Yahshua [Jesus] the Messiah is much more than appearance, but a way of life and a mindset. (“Sin & the Law of Liberty”; “Ambassadors for Messiah? Trust in His Promises“)

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the Elohim of peace shall be with you.” – Philippians 4:8-9, WoY

God's WordDisciples must be focused through good times and all manner of hardships. Through spiritual growth you become trained to run the race of life. Your heart stays focused on Messiah. You must not be distracted and sidetracked. Your reward is through YHWH’s Kingdom, the result of your love and confidence. (1 Corinthians 9:24-27; Philippians 3:13-14) Think of this as training for life. All your energy and focus is required through the provision of Messiah’s promises, the action of the Holy Spirit. (1 Timothy 4:7-10) Only through this spiritual exercise do you experience real sanctified growth and endurance. This brings you into line with Elohim’s Will. The light of your witness will also attract others with an open heart to Messiah’s truth. (2 Timothy 4:7-8; “Are You a Christian First or Last?“; “YHWH Sustains His People through Doubt“)

In this way, you fight against evil forces, both within you through both conditioning and attacks, and in the world. Your fight is for a holy crown of righteousness, but this is not for your sake. When you have like-minded brothers and sisters with the same confidence all fight together as soldiers of righteousness, learning to be content even in the midst of spiritual battle. They stayed reconciled to one another as fellow workers. The Apostle and his friends were close and sensitive to the needs of one another. (Philippians 4:10-12, 14-17) They shared “a sweet-smelling fragrance, an acceptable offering, well-pleasing to Elohim.” (Philippians 3:18) In this way, we have the “strength to do all, through Messiah.” (Philippians 4:13) Through close relationship with heaven, the joy of disciples in love and harmony is made complete. This level of respect, joy and knowledge is what the world doesn’t know or understand. How pleasant to be a prisoner of YHWH! (“The Beginnings of Faith and Salvation“; “Attitude and the Disciple of Messiah“)

“ I therefore, the prisoner of Yahweh, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Yahweh, one faith, one baptism, One Elohim and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” – Ephesians 4:1-6, WoY

“But my Elohim shall supply all your need according to His riches in dignity by the Messiah Yahshua.” – Philippians 4:19-20, WoY

holy spiritDisciples of Messiah have been given spiritual gifts, provision through the strength of Yahshua [Jesus], exercises in living for the purpose of fighting against Satan and his kingdom. (Ephesians 9-10) YHWH [your Heavenly Father] has equipped His people as fellow workers for a common purpose though a peace that only He can give. (Ephesians 4:7-8; John 14:27)

“And He Himself gave some as emissaries, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as shepherds and teachers for the perfecting of the set-apart ones, to the work of service to a building up of the body of the Messiah, until we all come to the unity of the belief and of the knowledge of the Son of Elohim, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the completeness of Messiah, so that we should no longer be children, tossed and borne about by every wind of teaching, by the trickery of men, in cleverness, unto the craftiness of leading astray, but, maintaining the truth in love, we grow up in all respects into Him who is the head, Messiah, from whom the entire body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the working by which each part does its share, causes growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.” – Ephesians 4:11-16, ISR98

In these verses of scripture, our apostle has embodied the whole of spiritual maturity through Yahshua [Jesus] Messiah and the power of the Holy Spirit. Let’s conclude with these thoughts about being a new man in Messiah.

“So this I say, and witness in the Master, that you should no longer walk as the gentiles [the world] walk, in the futility of their mind, having been darkened in their understanding, having been estranged from the life of Elohim, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart, who, having become callous, have given themselves up to indecency, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But you have not so learned Messiah,  if indeed you have heard Him and were taught by Him, as truth is in Yahshua: that you put off – with regard to your former way of life – the old man, being corrupted according to the desires of the deceit, and to be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the renewed man1 which was created according to Elohim, in righteousness and set-apartness of the truth.” – Ephesians 4:17-24, ISR98

new man in Christ bookBy putting on the new man in Messiah, you prove your confidence and trust in the provisions of Elohim and the power of the Holy Spirit. Only through the power of the Holy Spirit can you expect to grow in YHWH’s truth, living in confidence of His Word, Yahshua [Jesus]. (John 1:1, 14; Ephesians 4:30; Galatians 5:22-23; Romans 14:17) Through the Holy Spirit all disciples of Messiah are made complete. (“Listening to the Holy Spirit“; “Abiding in Trust“; “Are You Rejecting YHWH’s Holy Spirit?“; “Christianity: A Crisis in Prayer & Spirit“)

“For YHWH so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16, RNKJV
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending the Messiah, your only begotten Son to be my Savior. I believe in Him and have made this belief the center of my life. Because of this, by faith I have everlasting life! Thank you! I repent of my sins and of my past, freely admitting that I have fallen short of Your glory. I look fully forward to you in my life and commit my life to You. Thank You YHWH, my Heavenly Father for setting me free in the name of your Son Yahshua [Jesus]. Amen.
genuine-articleYou will never enjoy true freedom through the Messiah and power of the Holy Spirit unless you read and absorb the Bible in prayer and trust. You will never know this freedom until you experience it for yourself. Get to know your Heavenly Father, His Son and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. The Holy Spirit is your teacher, your Holy Counselor that lives in you to help you learn about the truth of YHWH and His spiritual gifts.
Satan does not want you to have the excellence of YHWH in your life. People pray for protection and want to be taken care of, but often do little in growing close to Him. The world, your husband, your wife, your family, your government do not build your trust in YHWH or free you from spiritual bondage. Your church or your pastor cannot save you. Education, power and money will not free you, but only the Word of your Heavenly Father. Salvation is a daily walk, an act of love for yourself and for those around you, not a one-time event that centers only on you. Make the Word of YHWH your own, your very life!
YHWH is Yahweh, the covenant name of your Heavenly Father.
The names Yahshua and Yahushua are original language names for Jesus,
He is often referred simply as the Messiah or Master.
