“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
For where your treasure is, there your heart shall be also. The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, all your body shall be enlightened. But if your eye is evil [stingy], all your body shall be darkened. If, then, the light that is within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
No one is able to serve two masters, for either he shall hate the one and love the other, or else he shall cleave to the one and despise the other. You are not able to serve Elohim and mammon. Because of this I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you shall eat or drink, or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than the food and the body more than the clothing?
Look at the birds of the heaven, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into storehouses, yet your heavenly Father does feed them. Are you not worth more than they? And which of you by worrying is able to add one cubit to his life’s span? So why do you worry about clothing? Note well the lilies of the field, how they grow. They neither toil nor spin, and I say to you that even Shelomoh in all his esteem was not dressed like one of these. But if Elohim so clothes the grass of the field, which exists today, and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more you, O you of little belief?
Do not worry then, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For all these the gentiles seek for. And your heavenly Father knows that you need all these.
But seek first the reign of Elohim, and His righteousness, and all these matters shall be added to you. Do not, then, worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow shall have its own worries. Each day has enough evil of itself. ” – Matthew 6:19-34, ISR98
How many Christians are able to successfully navigate the waters of life while listening to this word from Yahshua [Jesus] and then, by applying it? When you are mindful of how authority really operates in the universe you are able to let this knowledge work in your life. As you know, authority is what makes the world go around. Even politicians of the world would readily admit this, which is applied through ‘the rule of law’ where you live through a chain of command. However, in this day most people don’t really know about the authority of YHWH or recognize it. Even most Christians believe that ‘God’ [actually Elohim] has given up His authority to the nations, to national leaders and the underlings of the system in place. (John 8:32; 1 Timothy 3:15) The true message of Biblical authority has been distorted since the first century. This was designed to give advantage, initially to ‘religious leaders,’ and then to ‘secular leaders’ in order to secure obedience to a hierarchy of man over all people. Many are deceived by a “church” that pretends to be something it is not. Authority is coveted by many people, the stock and trade of fallen mankind. This is the counterfeit, the antichrist [antimessiah] system in relation to the authority of YHWH. (Ecclesiastes 7:13, 29, 10:12-14, 12:8-9, 13-14; Isaiah 29:13; “Which Shepherd Do You Believe?“; “Trust YHWH, Not World Leaders“; “The Politics of Pride“)
The bottom line is that people give themselves up to one authority or the other. There are only two authorities in scripture. There is Satan’s kingdom and there is Elohim’s Kingdom. One is antichrist and the other belongs to Messiah, the Salvation of mankind that will listen. When you aren’t seeking YHWH’s Kingdom, you can’t possibly bear fruit of that Kingdom, even if you are told otherwise by religious authorities that aren’t properly grounded in the truth, the reality of scripture. (Matthew 25:14-24) To seek Elohim’s Kingdom you must be active with the full intent and capability of operating in the Holy Spirit and His truth of accurate Bible knowledge. “…If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” (John 14:23; Matthew 7:22-23, 24-27; 16:24, 17:5; Luke 6:46; John 14:15, 21, 23-24, 15:14; Revelation 2:4-5, 10; James 1:22-25) This is a personal matter, something that only you can do. It’s a matter of your heart and mind, and vital to your life. (“The Reality of the Antichrist“; “Ongoing Corruption of Christianity“)
Satan seeks to make Elohim’s people and those that profess to be ‘God’s people’ to yield no fruit if that is possible. (Mark 11:12-14, 20-33) The less real spiritual fruit for YHWH that is produced the better for the dark kingdom, the kingdom of the antichrist. This is done through false religious teaching and deception. If possible, Satan will persuade people that claim the Messiah (in any sense) to do absolutely nothing of value in rightly-dividing the Father’s Word. In the view of Satan it is much better to dilute YHWH’s truth with the philosophies and traditions of men because corruption gives Satan and kingdoms of darkness more authority, robbing as much as possible from YHWH Almighty. Multitudes have been deceived in this way! This is what Yahshua [Jesus] showed when He witnessed in the Temple, evidenced in scripture in Mark 11. Mark wrote in the context that he did for good reason, drawing a line between the two kingdoms that battle in spiritual warfare. In that day, the religion of Jews had grown into false teaching and understanding, a ‘den of robbers,’ bearing little, if any, spiritual fruit for YHWH. Instead, they existed only for themselves. (Matthew 21:1-11; Luke 19:28-44; John 12:12-19; Matthew 21:12-17; Luke 19:45-48; Galatians 1:6-7; 2 Corinthians 4:4, 11:3-4, 13-14; Jude 3-4; “Messiah Teaches about Fruit in the Lives of People“; “Disciples of Messiah and Spiritual Fruit“)
“And on the next day, when they had come out from Bĕyth Anyah [Bethany], He was hungry. And seeing at a distance a fig tree having leaves, He went to see whether He would find any fruit on it. And when He came to it, He found none but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. And Yahshua [Jesus], responding, said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.” And His taught ones heard it.” – Mark 11:12-14, ISR98
The fig tree was equated to the reality of the Temple in that day. The Temple was not dispensing pure spiritual food to sate the spiritual hunger of the Jews. The Temple had been thoroughly corrupted through extra-Biblical teaching and the greedy motives of man. The Temple in that day was all about the authority and hierarchy of man, a sad fact of history. Yahshua [Jesus] condemned them because of their corrupted minds and hearts and was giving them up to a reprobate mind, a mindset that the world sees as normal. The same plight has happened throughout Christianity today as well. The world sees this as the way to do business and many professed Christians agree or simply consent to it. The Bible admonishes disciples to get out of Babylon while they can to avoid the same judgment that Babylon will reap. (Revelation 14:6-11; 18:1-5; Jeremiah 51:6, 9) In the meantime, huge numbers that profess to love Messiah reject what He says, teaching and learning another gospel. Instead of preparing the way with real Bible teaching, they present another knowledge that falls short. (Mark 1:2-3) It’s a sad truth that we can overcome one person at a time. Does your heart seek the truth of YHWH? (Isaiah 41:16-20; Revelation 12:9, 13:11; “A Hidden Lifestyle Message from Messiah“; “Disciple: Are You Bearing Fruit?“; “A Lifestyle Message from Jeremiah“)
The authority of YHWH is real power and authority. “And יהושע answering, said to them, “Have belief in Elohim. For truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says, shall be done, he shall have whatever he says. Because of this I say to you, whatever you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them. And whenever you stand praying, if you hold whatever against anyone, forgive, so that your Father in the heavens shall also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither shall your Father in the heavens forgive your trespasses.” – Mark 11:22-26, ISR98
The leaders in the Temple questioned the authority and character of Yahshua [Jesus], just as the nations do today. Instead, they seek to put Yahshua [Jesus] underfoot, just as the Jewish leaders did. They challenged and sidelined Elohim, just as they did to Yahshua [Jesus]. These Jewish leaders were deeply conflicted about authority, most of them in full knowledge that they were not in line with scripture of that day and their knowledge of YHWH in that time. They had built another kingdom and were adding new knowledge while rejecting their Messiah. The Jewish Sanhedrin was responsible for teaching and promoting ‘another gospel,’ a teaching where they had more authority as they clamored for more to satisfy their own ambition. All of this took place at a time when a Hebrew nation no longer existed as they had succumbed to the nations about them because they had created ‘another gospel’ with what YHWH had given them. (Mark 11:20-33) They added to and created their own faith apart from their Elohim. The old experiment had failed, showing that a singular nation of man was unwilling to listen and obey. They were left to a reprobate mind and scattered. Yahshua [Jesus] made the secular nation of Israel officially irrelevant because of great sin, opening up the truth of YHWH to the whole world, to everyone that would listen and obey, including the Jews. (Malachi 3:1-7) This shows His great love for all, not wanting any to be cast off into destruction, but for all to repent and turn to Him in the name of Yahshua [Jesus] the Messiah. (“Are You In Danger of a Reprobate Mind? Sexual Sin and YHWH“; “Disciple: Live Your Belief“; “Playing It Safe With Another Gospel“)
As we near the end of man’s system as scripture has decreed, a similar situation in the world exists again. We need to shed Babylon for Bible truth. Professed Christians, all disciples that love Messiah must be awake! Disciples need to recognize the character of Yahshua [Jesus] as a real living person instead of an excuse for distortion, wrongdoing and cheap grace for all. Disciples of Messiah are “fellow workers” – to be a voice today that cries out in the wilderness, announcing a message of truth for personal salvation, without corrupt ambitions and jealousies that are common to men and women. As fellow workers, we seek to be free from the yeast or leaven of the world. (Romans 12:1-3; Isaiah 40:3-13; John 1:23; Mark 1:3; Galatians 5:9; Ecclesiastes 9:18, 10:1; Acts 13:4-12; “The Bible & Higher Authority“; “The Real Meaning of Romans 13“; “Disciples of Messiah & the Authority of Man“)
