Choosing to Serve YHWH, Not Man

by Ruth Greene

liberty pride deceptionIn the world you may believe that you’ve seen it all. The nastiness of idolatry wants to reign over the world. The world even has counterfeit religious systems that represent themselves as ‘God’s truth.’ Scripture stands in opposition to the status quo of the world. The man who becomes rich by unjust means will end up foolish and poor. In contrast, a disciple of Yahshua [Jesus] must be willing to be honest in personal dealings at work, home and play. Getting a promotion, passing an exam or gaining prestige unjustly will never bring Elohim’s [YHWH] blessings or lasting happiness. (Ezekiel 34:7-10) Instead, the world resides in a desert of pain and trouble, searching for a way out. Without YHWH, they are incurable and sick. (Jeremiah 2:22, 48:5-6; Job 19:24, 20:17; Isaiah 30:18; Psalms 1:3, 9-10; 2 Corinthians 3:3; Revelation 2:9-10, 23, Romans 2:6) While the world rejects the evidence, YHWH is the only sanctuary. (Jeremiah 2:13, 14:8, 17:12-13; Isaiah 1:28; Luke 10:20; “Secession of the Heart“; “A Mind of Envy and Competition“; “Wavering Between Two Opinions“)

in exile“Thus said YHWH, ‘Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart turns away from YHWH. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, and not see when good comes, and shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land that is not inhabited.'” – Jeremiah 17:5-6, ISR98

Don’t you see this curse in place today? The leaders of the world, from government to religion, don’t have the good sense to know or appreciate their error. (“Living in an Apostate World“; “Adam, Eve & the Shining One“; “The Importance of Practical Repentance“)

“The heart is crooked above all, and desperately sick – who shall know it? I, YHWH, search the heart, I try the kidneys, and give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds. As a partridge that broods but does not hatch, so is he who gets riches, but not by right. It leaves him in the midst of his days, and at his end he is a fool.” – Jeremiah 17:9-11, ISR98

Many years ago, I was in a ‘gathering of Christ’ that severely tested me. My ministry of song was dramatically restricted. Pastors were calling the head of this certain ministry that I was involved with and he was denying them all access to my witness. I became a commodity of trade and deal-making as if I were a piece of property. I prayed and asked my Heavenly Father to release me from being involved in that ministry because of what had become an ongoing rampant misapplication of His Word, reinforced by a spirit of accusation and jealousy. YHWH revealed to me that I needed to observe what was happening around me as I stood firm for serving Him in righteousness rather than simply serving a ‘Christian leader’ or for my own purposes. I continued to support that ministry fully for a season, commanded by the Holy Spirit to endure without bitterness, even though the odds seemed to be against me; supplemented by my observations about what was important regarding the teaching of the rightly divided Word of my Father. (Jeremiah 20:7-13; “What is God’s ‘Church’?“; “The Antichrist & War on Reality“)

I remembered these words in Jeremiah 16:

“O YHWH, my strength and my stronghold and my refuge, in the day of distress the gentiles shall come to You from the ends of the earth and say, ‘Our fathers have inherited only falsehood, futility, and there is no value in them.’ Would a man make mighty ones for himself, which are not mighty ones? Therefore see, I am causing them to know, this time I cause them to know My hand and My might. And they shall know that My Name is YHWH!” – Jeremiah 16:19-21, ISR98

fear of the apocalypseMany in the world look ahead to a mythical doomsday, which you see all over in the media. (Jeremiah 17:15-18) Others are impatient that ‘God’s Kingdom’ hasn’t come, even beginning to doubt the justice of YHWH and his foretold provision through Yahshua [Jesus] the Messiah. (Deuteronomy 10:21; Jeremiah 1:4-12) As individuals, all of us often lack focus and can be distracted. This is due to the condition of your heart at any given time. For example, in old Israel, all the Hebrews knew about the Sabbath. They chose to disrespect the Sabbath by doing work in disobedience. (Jeremiah 17:19-27; Nehemiah 13:15-22) They didn’t trust Elohim, Whom they claimed to serve. They failed recognize His sovereignty over all things. To them, money making in their own power was more important than honoring YHWH and trusting Him for provision and abundance that He promised. (Proverbs 3:5; Philippians 4:19; 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24) They preferred a mall-like atmosphere of commerce as a reliable source in daily life. So it is today in this modern Babylon, even for many of those that know about honoring the Sabbath as a part of their spiritual life through the Messiah. (Matthew 6:33; Hebrews 13:5; 2 Timothy 3:13; Deuteronomy 28:15-61;  “What is the Sabbath?“; “The Abomination That Causes Desolation“; “How Do You Honor YHWH?“)

For many, their response is the same as the old nation of YHWH:

“But they did not obey nor incline their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear nor receive instruction.” – Jeremiah 17:23, NKJV

In Jeremiah 18, YHWH reckons His people as vessels of clay. Jeremiah was told to go down to the potter’s house and noticed that the potter did as he pleased with the clay. In the same way, YHWH ultimately judges the nations and the people captured by the culture of the moment by their actions. (“Abiding in Trust“; “The Unpardonable Sin“; “Seeking a New Spirit“)

“Then the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, ‘O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter?’ saith Yahweh. ‘Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel. At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; if that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.

And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it; if it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them. Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, ‘Thus saith Yahweh; ‘Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.'” – Jeremiah 18:5-11 WoY

YHWH wanted His people in Judah to repent and do what is right. What was their response?

“And they said, ‘There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination [twisted natures and imaginings] of his evil heart.'”– Jeremiah 18:12, WoY

frustrationToday, this is the response of most of the world. (Matthew 13:1-9; Acts 13:40-41) They throw their hands up at YHWH in disgust and choose to follow their own plans, failing to walk in His path of righteousness. Elohim is not in our hands. All people are in the hands of Elohim. We are at His mercy. This reality doesn’t change, even when you ignore that truth. (2 Corinthians 4:3-4; 1 John 2:3-4, 3:22; Revelation 14:12) What you do and live to the end is what determines your judgment. This isn’t impossible to know, nor the end for everyone. This judgment involves your treatment of others in judging and forgiving, as you seek to be obedient. The rest is His great mercy and provision! Remember that you are in Elohim’s hands and that you aren’t alone! (James 5:14-15) Today, disciples can have the Holy Spirit at their personal call when they don’t reject His help. In this way your discernment is increased! Sanctified disciples of Messiah have Elohim’s Kingdom to look forward to, where Elohim will decide what is best for all of us, with His Kingdom taking on the role that mankind was never designed to have. (Acts 5:32; Revelation 11:15; “YHWH’s Track of Righteousness“; “YHWH’s Faithful: Victory in Spiritual Battle“; “Is Your Forgiveness Real?“; “Are You Rejecting YHWH’s Holy Spirit?“; “Christianity: A Crisis in Prayer & Spirit“; “Listening to the Holy Spirit“)

“For YHWH so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16, RNKJV
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending the Messiah, your only begotten Son to be my Savior. I believe in Him and have made this belief the center of my life. Because of this, by faith I have everlasting life! Thank you! I repent of my sins and of my past, freely admitting that I have fallen short of Your glory. I look fully forward to you in my life and commit my life to You. Thank You YHWH, my Heavenly Father for setting me free in the name of your Son Yahshua [Jesus]. Amen.
genuine-articleYou will never enjoy true freedom through the Messiah and power of the Holy Spirit unless you read and absorb the Bible in prayer and trust. You will never know this freedom until you experience it for yourself. Get to know your Heavenly Father, His Son and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. The Holy Spirit is your teacher, your Holy Counselor that lives in you to help you learn about the truth of YHWH and His spiritual gifts.
Satan does not want you to have the excellence of YHWH in your life. People pray for protection and want to be taken care of, but often do little in growing close to Him. The world, your husband, your wife, your family, your government do not build your trust in YHWH or free you from spiritual bondage. Your church or your pastor cannot save you. Education, power and money will not free you, but only the Word of your Heavenly Father. Salvation is a daily walk, an act of love for yourself and for those around you, not a one-time event that centers only on you. Make the Word of YHWH your own, your very life!
YHWH is Yahweh, the covenant name of your Heavenly Father.
The names Yahshua and Yahushua are original language names for Jesus,
He is often referred simply as the Messiah or Master.
