Are You Running Away from Messiah?

By Ruth Greene

“This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.” – John 3:19-20, NKJV

Messiah in the desertFaith is trust. Trust is more than simply believing in the Messiah and what He did for those that would listen and accept His sacrifice. You don’t want to be at risk by simply acknowledging Yahshua [Jesus], which is something that even the demons do. Genuine Christians need to contend for the truth of their Savior. (Jude 1:3-4) Even in the early Christian assembly, apostasy had slipped in amongst the body of believers. These were ideas of man apart from YHWH’s truth. These apostates deceived themselves. Instead of coming closer to the Savior and His teaching or building a closer relationship with their Heavenly Father, these false apostles were embracing false teaching and separating themselves for His judgment. This is very dangerous for those that simply follow along. (Jude 1:11-13, 16-19; John 5:24, 14:16; James 1:22; “Bible Truth That Many Christians Don’t Accept“; “Where Do You Place Your Trust“; “Culture: Prompting Falsehood for the Lie“; “Which Shepherd Do You Believe?“)

beliefMany years ago, when I was ministering in song on the road, a lady brought me a tract describing how Mary of Magdala was a whore that ‘had married Jesus’. Even though I had just arrived, I dismissed myself and left that church immediately. I could not be a part of such apostasy. You may feel that I over-reacted or that I had an obligation to teach, perhaps to sway this extra-Biblical apostasy. (Luke 8:13; 2 Peter 3:14-18; 1 Timothy 4:1; 2 Timothy 3:1-9, 4:3; Hebrews 3:12) However, I was there to sing and was unwilling to massage the flesh of reprobates that I could not reach in song. Perhaps this woman was alone in her deception, even though this was unlikely with a room filling with people. The worship leader was nowhere to be seen. Along the same lines, I had a few pastors that made sexual overtures to me amongst a group of people shortly after arriving. I left their place of worship just as readily. To me, this was an intolerable abomination that should not be among YHWH’s people. How could anyone meet a stranger with the idea of leading that stranger after themselves? Yet, that is exactly what the flesh of man does. Because of this, the people that you associate with or that come to meet you, even in foreign churches and places you don’t know, can cause a spiritual shipwreck. This is especially true of professed Christians that don’t know enough or aren’t strong enough to resist the agents of Satan. More importantly, when you are operating in the Father’s Will, you are directly on Satan’s hit list. (Colossians 3:1, 10; Ephesians 4:24, 6:11-13; 2 Corinthians 5:17, 11:14; 1 Corinthians 2:14; 1 Peter 5:8-9; James 4:7; John 8:44; “Overcoming Satanic Attack“; “Strongholds & the Armor of YHWH“; “The Abomination That Causes Desolation“; “Opposing Fear“)

“For YHWH hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” – 2 Timothy 1:7, RNKJV

walking into the desertThe world of man continues to run away from the truth of YHWH and His track of righteousness, substituting their own version of truth and ethics. (Matthew 7:21; John 14:6; Ephesians 2:8-9) Most do not realize that this alternate message is a substitute against the provision of YHWH. However, most Christians are afraid or apathetic when it comes to knowing their Heavenly Father’s Will for them. By their actions, it is apparent that most Christians believe that they can pay a pastor or someone else in order to be relieved of any answerability. They will buy their way into heaven. Christians have forgotten what idolatry is, if they ever knew. Modern Christian organizations typically go very light on idolatry because they don’t want to make waves. (John 12:48; Galatians 5:19-21; 1 John 5:21; Revelation 20:15, 21:8; 1 Corinthians 10:14; Isaiah 59:2; Exodus 20:3-6) They may fear for their tax-exempt status where the state is concerned, or even their very existence. Christians and their teachers have become like the world about them, just as the ancient nation of Israel did. The world often prefers escape to the reality it has created. Today, casual and carnal Christians repeatedly do the same kinds of things. (1 Peter 4:3-4, 17; 2 Timothy 1:6-7) The judgment of Christ cannot be escaped. (Hebrews 9:27; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 20:11-15; Proverbs 14:12; “The Unapologetic Christian“; “Are You a Christian First or Last?“; “The Magi of This Age“)

“Do not make an idol, any likeness that comes from out of heavens above nor that comes from out of the earth beneath nor from out of the waters beneath the land. Do not worship nor serve them because I, YHWH your Elohim is jealous in power, charging the iniquity of fathers against sons, against the third and fourth generations that hate Me, showing favor to thousands of kin, those that love Me and guard My commands. – Deuteronomy 5:8-10, direct translation

The Holy Spirit was sent so that YHWH’s power would be within His people. After the Messiah returned to heaven, the Spirit would come to guide and comfort His people in helping them to live in YHWH’s truth. Remember that you are not alone. You have the Holy Spirit as your Counselor when you are willing to accept Him. (John 14, 15, 16) Genuine disciples of the Messiah in this day have an advantage that ancient Hebrews did not. (Titus 3:5; “Listening to the Holy Spirit“; “Seeking a New Spirit“)

which-wisdomWhat you do with your life matters. Are you be-bopping at the club one night and singing in the choir the following morning? You don’t need a Harvard education or superior intelligence to appreciate YHWH’s wisdom. Do you appreciate His wisdom? If not, why not? There is no better time than the present to take action, pressing forward to become new through the saving power of the Messiah in the power of the Holy Spirit. In this way, you are strengthened. (Matthew 6:25-33; John 1:64-69; Corinthians 10:13; Romans 8:28; Isaiah 40:31; Proverbs 4:7; “Abiding in Trust“; “Wisdom & the Battle of Two Kingdoms“; “Filling Your Life With Truth Instead of Deception“)

“For YHWH so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16, RNKJV
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending the Messiah, your only begotten Son to be my Savior. I believe in Him and have made this belief the center of my life. Because of this, by faith I have everlasting life! Thank you! I repent of my sins and of my past, freely admitting that I have fallen short of Your glory. I look fully forward to you in my life and commit my life to You. Thank You YHWH, my Heavenly Father for setting me free in the name of your Son Yahshua [Jesus]. Amen.
genuine-articleYou will never enjoy true freedom through the Messiah and power of the Holy Spirit unless you read and absorb the Bible in prayer and trust. You will never know this freedom until you experience it for yourself. Get to know your Heavenly Father, His Son and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. The Holy Spirit is your teacher, your Holy Counselor that lives in you to help you learn about the truth of YHWH and His spiritual gifts.
Satan does not want you to have the excellence of YHWH in your life. People pray for protection and want to be taken care of, but often do little in growing close to Him. The world, your husband, your wife, your family, your government do not build your trust in YHWH or free you from spiritual bondage. Your church or your pastor cannot save you. Education, power and money will not free you, but only the Word of your Heavenly Father. Salvation is a daily walk, an act of love for yourself and for those around you, not a one-time event that centers only on you. Make the Word of YHWH your own, your very life!
YHWH is Yahweh, the covenant name of your Heavenly Father.
The names Yahshua and Yahushua are original language names for Jesus,
He is often referred simply as the Messiah or Master.
