Strengthening Your Motivation

by John Greene

“But know this, that in the last days disastrous times will be upon us. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, braggarts, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked, without natural feeling, addicted to lust, slanderers, without self-control, savage, haters of good, traitors, hasty, boasters, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of Elohim [YHWH, ‘God’], having a form of righteousness, but denying the power of it; even turn away from these.” – 2 Timothy 3:1-4, HRB

authority-of-the-worldLife can be challenging enough, so you might reason that being a disciple of the Messiah makes your life that much harder. It’s true that you have a real challenge under the reigning conditions that rule the world as expressed in 2 Timothy. This challenge is bringing your head and heart into line with the Word of Truth instead filling yourself with the traditions and fables of men and women. Worse, applying the ‘rules of the man‘ to your Heavenly Father is a mighty mistake. The fight between kingdoms is all about authority, what you give your heart over to. Satan and his agents want all they can get. It’s not truly personal. These devils just want to win. The short-term is important to them. Counter to what the world and many ‘Christian religions’ teach, in a world where tumult and sin runs rampant, a dedicated mind and heart are needed to live on YHWH’s track of righteousness. This really leaves no room for Satan and his agents, to their great anger. This is exactly why those like King James and the Catholic Church made ‘minor alterations’ in meaning to Bible text where their authority is concerned. It’s to their advantage to have you hoodwinked. (John 10:10; Psalm 34:17-20; Galatians 6:7-8; Psalm 69:29-30; “Filling Your Life with Truth Instead of Deception“; “A Fountain of Life“; “Breaking Strongholds of False Authority“; “Destruction Is Satan’s Intent“)

How will you respond to YHWH’s sacrifice and love for you? Just because the world of man is the way it is doesn’t mean that YHWH loves you any less. It doesn’t change what He desires for you. The situation where agents of Satan battle against the kingdom of Elohim was created by rebellion to YHWH. YHWH has worked around the rebellion against Him to give you a way into His Kingdom. Consider cultivating personal awareness as you put down automatic thinking of the world and eliminate spiritual apathy from your life. The best solution is to modify your personal environment so that living on YHWH’s track of righteousness becomes a natural reality in your daily life. (Luke 4:8; John 17:17; 1 Corinthians 15:58; 2 Corinthians 12:9; “The Antichrist & the War on Reality“; “Mind Filters“; “Mind Control of the Beast“; “Spiritual Fruit & Renewing Your Mind“)

You need to grow to understand the relevance of authority in your life. Start by identifying the role that emotions play in your life and habits that have become part of you. Adopt the mindset of your Master the Messiah and allow the Holy Spirit to act as your personal Counselor while living mindfully and consciously to avoid the distractions and propaganda of the world, the pull of Satan and his antichrist agents. (Matthew 19:26 ; John 14:26; 1 John 5:19; “Bible Prophecy and the Rise of the Corporation“; “The Image & Mark of the Beast System“)

Bible-Vision-Holy-SpiritThe relationship that each genuine Christian was designed to have with the Holy Spirit through the Messiah is powerful and intimate. When you abide through your Messiah, the Holy Spirit becomes a part of you, as He [the Holy Spirit] helps you to build a new person that is renewed and restored to YHWH. Your trust in Elohim becomes an extension of who you are as you live your trust with active intent and purpose. Joy begins to build and dwell within you as you become more like Christ, as you reside in YHWH’s track of righteousness. Motivation is vital as you live each and every day. (Philippians 4:6-7; James 1:2) For multitudes, motivation is exactly the problem. (“Listening to the Holy Spirit“; “Holy Spirit 101“)

In the ideal situation, the road to wholeness through the Holy Spirit would be easy, without the bumps, bruises and detours inflicted by man’s world and personal inherited sin through your family line. Many professed Christians continue to follow what they believe is the path of least resistance, carrying personal burdens through personal power and effort. That is man’s way without the Holy Spirit, what many Christians are taught. This is the way most Christians live. (“Single-minded Commitment in Face of Trauma“; “Healing Wounds That People Can’t See“; “Spiritual Disease that Eats at Your Salvation“)

the-judgeThe world says that accomplishing anything involves personal will and personal skill. More often, this pseudo-truth is simply the craft of trickery and exploitation. Abiding with your Heavenly Father is not the righteousness [which is actually desperate entitlement] of man, but the righteousness of your Heavenly Father. The world of man [kosmos] doesn’t line up with your Father’s righteousness. The justice of the world is a pale imitation of YHWH’s righteousness, if that. As you grow in the Holy Spirit, your own mindset and personal behavior changes as you abide in His righteousness. (“Pursue Righteousness“; “Considering Your Motives“; “Building a Counterfeit Kingdom“)

Your own personal agency or will is intimately involved, resulting from a mindset that expresses your decisions, wishes and personal plans. An initial kernel of YHWH’s righteousness starts with being informed through the knowledge of scripture, possibly by someone that brings an element of this to your attention. Unlike what the world says, knowledge isn’t about power. More accurately, knowledge – especially spiritual knowledge of YHWH’s righteousness, is the prerequisite for effective and continuing change. Personal awareness is necessary for cultivating the will to walk in the Father’s righteousness. In this way you are able to initiate your personal walk with your Heavenly Father and allow change while living in His Spirit and moving in the direction of His Will, ‘running’ to ultimately obtain the prize. (James 1:4; 1 Corinthians 9:24-27; 2 Timothy 4:7; Philippians 3:14; Hebrews 12:1; Revelation 14:12; Ecclesiastes 9:11; “Junk Food & Your Spiritual Nutrition“; “YHWH’s People Walk by Faith and Obedience to His Word“; “A Branch of the Vine through Trust“)

despair-sm1Unhappily, Christians (all of us) consistently fail to meet the knowledge of YHWH’s righteousness. Why? Multitudes are sidetracked and buffeted about constantly. Many are misled by the doctrines of men. More often, they are persuaded into consent through a proclaimed ‘nobility of purpose’ in the name of duty and responsibility, through rules of men and peer pressure. For a Christian that desires to abide through Christ, the doctrines of man only mislead and frustrate. That is why so many professed Christians grow frustrated as they lose motivation for YHWH’s Kingdom. Instead, Christians are exploited by the world [kosmos, the orderly arrangement of man’s governance]. The temptation is to rise up and conquer the world in ‘God’s name’, as if man has actually proved that he is capable of such a task. It’s a temptation as old as the ancient nation of Israel and Judah. The world doesn’t understand, but is determined to chase after its own brand of success. (“Leadership & Highly Effective People“; “Victory Over Wickedness“; “The Magi of this Age“)

Motivation is often expressed as the determining factor for success. Resistance or lack of resistance is also commonly expressed as the determining factor in your personal motivation. These maxims are applied by the world to religion as well, where just as many are stuck in the quicksand of ambivalence. However, following YHWH’s track of righteousness is not religion, but relationship through love. (John 3:16; Luke 10:27; Colossians 3:23; 1 John 3:1, 5:3; 1 Corinthians 13:1-13; 1 Timothy 1:14; Psalm 23:1-6, 63:1; “Life: Are You Building on Sand?“; “Putting Down the Titanic Pride of Man – Placing Satan Under Your Feet“)

“‘Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Torah? And Yahshua [Jesus] said to him, “You shall love YAHWEH your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.'”- Matthew 22:36-37, HRB

“If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever” – John 14:15-16, NKJV

“Beloved ones, let us love one another, because love is of Elohim, and everyone who loves has been born of Elohim, and knows Elohim. The one who does not love does not know Elohim, for Elohim is love.” – 1 John 4:7-8, ISR98

“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, NKJV

refreshYHWH’s love inspires His people. Resistance to the Father’s reality in the world of man is huge. The world of man doesn’t understand it and seeks to supplant or substitute [antichrist] the truth of YHWH. Even though many Christians claim to want the prize, most lack the will, the true belief and trust needed to be established with trust in YHWH and to continue in that trust. Part of the problem is that many Christians are taught or learn in a way that they will never achieve what YHWH desires for them. The propaganda level of the world, even within the professed church and body of Christ, is enormous. Instead, a counterfeit of morality and ethics [antichrist] continues to be brought to bear in place of YHWH’s righteousness. (“Real Love“; “Is Your Love For Others Cold?“; “Deception: The Plague of Love Detachment“; “The Reality of the Antichrist“)

counterfeit-poisonThe other counterfeit is the idea that you reach your goals through personal efforts on repairing what is broken. Experts may brag about the simplicity of this notion, as if any human being is truly able to accomplish this. In his or her own power, a man or woman is usually unable to permanently and completely change old habits and mindsets, regardless of motivation. The culture of the the world [kosmos] plays an important role in what was established in the ‘old man’. That is why Yahshua [Jesus] introduced His people to the Holy Spirit. The counterfeit culture of man is a world [kosmos] with an antichrist message. This message doesn’t necessarily speak against Christ directly, but seeks to replace Him and Bible truth with another authority. (antichrist, G473 in Strong’s Concordance)

Satan and his agents seek to supplant the truth of YHWH, to make the sacrifice of Christ of no effect for as many as possible. (2 Corinthians 11:14; Revelation 12:7-9, 13:1-2, 11, 17:15) The multitudinous antichrist messages in the world seek authority in your mind and heart over Elohim, seeking to replace His authority and the need for the Holy Spirit. The idea is to distract and destroy, which causes Christians to stray from the mission of Christ’s disciples. Whatever it takes to keep you from pure Bible truth is what the antichrist element is about. (Matthew 28:18-20) In many cases, this is as simple as substituting another gospel of religious teaching that looks and sounds very much the same on the surface as ‘God’s Word’. That is exactly what has happened and is happening. Religious leaders are working behind the scenes to unite all religion in a global interfaith movement. The temptation is to go along. But, if you join them, you will reap their certain judgment. (John 21:15-17) That is why your personal discernment is so important. (“Discernment the World Doesn’t Have“; “Discernment: Having an Ear to Deeper Understanding“; “Incentives of Deception“; “Deceptions of Ages: How People are Deceived“)

How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Indeed they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart, who try to make My people forget My name by their dreams which everyone tells his neighbor, as their fathers forgot My name for Baal.” – Jeremiah 23:26-27, NKJV

discern both good and evilYou need to know that when you reside through the Messiah and the Holy Spirit, you have the authority of YHWH. You are able to discern truth from fiction. YHWH’s resources are instrumental for you to overcome the obstacles you face. Through the Holy Spirit, the new person in you through Christ transforms your will and your personal relationship of love. (Colossians 3:1, 10; Ephesians 4:24; 2 Corinthians 5:17) You are able to achieve the prize of salvation while fulfilling the Messianic mission. Your mind and heart, even your lifestyle are changed. This is larger than making a resolution as the world does. Resolutions are temporary. Instead of crafting resolutions, you triumph as you walk on YHWH’s track of righteousness. The world will often seek to place all manner of duty and responsibility on you. Elohim’s kindly provision makes the load much lighter. (Matthew 11:28-30; John 14:21; Galatians 5:1; 1 Corinthians 2:14; “Foundation of Salvation“; “Roots of Salvation“)

The effective operation of agape love in your life is a vital ‘skill’ in the life of any Christian. This is caring in a way that is truly constructive, especially in a world that does not know love. Agape initiates and continues as a force for YHWH’s Kingdom, strengthening His people. He is the strength of any genuine Christian, provided through the Holy Spirit and expressed through agape. In this way, you don’t wear out. (Luke 10:27; John 13:34-35; 1 Corinthians 13:1-13; 1 John 4:7-8, 16, 18; Galatians 5:22-23; Romans 13:8-10; James 1:26; Genesis 2:24; “Agape: Discipleship is Renewal“)

distress-worryYour free will in daily life in any given situation is a choice that you make. The choices you make involve patterns of behavior, your lifestyle, even stress management and coping with adversity. Strongholds of the mind and heart are obstacles of resistance, often grounded in the agency of demonic oppression. Initiating change is often a true challenge since conditioned behaviors are involved. The Holy Spirit is able to help you to give up patterns of behavior (strongholds) long enough, so that you are able to abandon these patterns or strongholds. He helps you to release the familiar for the newness of YHWH’s Kingdom into a new mindset. The Holy Spirit is able to expedite this process as He helps YHWH’s people to be renewed through Christ. In time, this is permanently reflected in your heart as the fruit of being new through Christ. (John 14:15-17, 26, 16:12-15; 1 Corinthians 2:13; Isaiah 11:2; “What is God’s Church?“; “Breaking the Hold of Addictive Behavior and Stress“; “Understanding Sin“)

Your personal priorities are a vital part of this process. Perseverance is needed. Preparation with necessary spiritual resources is no less important. You determine whether you are ready for change, whether the Holy Spirit can work within you for permanent assistance. Part of the process is through examining yourself. You decide when and if you will take action. Likely, you will be required to operate outside of your comfort zone. (Romans 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 13:5; 2 Timothy 2:15)

strongholdHowever, you cannot ignore the strongholds that stand in the way of necessary change toward YHWH’s Will. Your action is personal and only you can decide to act. After all, salvation is between you and your Heavenly Father. Institutions of man are empty where your personal relationship with YHWH is concerned. Strength or the perceived lack of strength is not a matter of self-esteem (as the world might say), no matter how many times you may have fallen away in the past. Shame, blame and recrimination are strongholds that agents of Satan use to control you. Let go of the baggage of the past, even when it seems to benefit you for the moment. Otherwise, you are being deceived. You simply need to forgive yourself and others for the past as you move into your Father’s presence. Who you listen to does matter. Listen to the Holy Spirit as your Counselor. Seek YHWH’s help through prayer so that you can live under His prayer covering of protection in His Mountain of Presence. YHWH has given you the authority to operate in His Will. (Matthew 6:24-33; James 1:21-25; 2 Corinthians 13:5; 2 Timothy 2:15; “Strongholds & the Armor of YHWH“; “Leadership & the Universal Authority of Christ“; “The Idolatry Factor“)

Ask these questions and answer them honestly as you regularly take stock of yourself.

Are you making regular steps to banish strongholds of the past from your life? (John 5:39-40)

Are you prepared to knock down the walls of your old life and forge ahead into the new, even leaving friends and family behind? (Matthew 10:34-39; 2 Corinthians 5:17)

Are you prepared to make better use of YHWH’s resources in your life? (Acts 4:12; Isaiah 29:13-16)

motivateIf so, you have the motivation that you need today. Look at what strongholds need to be removed from your life and mindsets. You start with your mind and end up rebuilding your heart with the help of YHWH. Being stuck in the quicksand of spiritual ambivalence is a deadly and wholly unproductive business. Billions are taught about a Heaven or a Paradise where they can live after passing from this life. Yet, the reward in the minds of many isn’t worth the sacrifice of the moment. This means that they simply don’t believe in the reward of salvation or that it is important enough to make a sacrifice. Alternatively, some decide to run in certain religious circles so that sacrifices aren’t necessary, living with the pretense that everyone will be saved, despite what scripture says. (2 Timothy 4:3; Ephesians 6:10-12; Revelation 3:15-16; Proverbs 25:26; “Christian: Live Your Belief“; “Life Healing and Belief“; “Knowing Where You Stand on YHWH’s Threshing Floor“)

motivation-plenty-or-lackMotivation involves another issue that you may not have considered. Most of us are born into and live out a situation where lack is dominant or instructed. ‘You can’t do it’ or ‘Do this and that’ – negativity and lack. This is the opposite of YHWH’s Kingdom where no lack exists. Therefore, you aren’t held fast to lack and a ‘can’t-do’ attitude except for what you insist on and live out in your life. Elohim is more than capable of providing for you in every way. (Matthew 6:1-33; Psalm 50:7-23) Earthly authorities would have you believe in their power to provide for you, in their significance. This isn’t real, for all provision comes from YHWH through Your Messiah and the Holy Spirit. Your Heavenly Father owns everything, which puts every man and woman on an equal footing before Him. You can’t bribe Him. You can only love and obey Him or reject Him. Could you unknowingly reject His provision by keeping an attitude of lack? You always have the choice. (John 10:10; Galatians 1:15; Amos 5:14; Deuteronomy 30:19) This is something every disciple of Christ must personally answer and deal with through the power of Holy Spirit; as you become a new man – or person – through Yahshua [Jesus] the Messiah and the Holy Spirit. (Colossians 3:1, 10; Ephesians 4:23-24; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:5; Romans 6:5-6; “The Miracle of the New Man in Christ“; “Wisdom & the Battle of Two Kingdoms“; “Cultivating YHWH’s Grace as You Seek Truth“)

soil of the heart

soil of the heart

In the end, motivation is about the spiritual condition of your heart through respect for what has been done for you. What is born as respect becomes love. (Ephesians 5:1) This is not the sticky, feel-good, self-centered brand of love that the world keeps for itself. Rather, your love for what YHWH has done for you becomes a firmly established part of you rather than mere window dressing. Your love is expressed as confidence through trust, overflowing to share with others as opportunity presents. Others will listen and observe as their hearts allow. The seed is planted and YHWH waters that seed of salvation so that it will grow, continuing what was started in you through your Messiah, coupled with the profound guidance of the Holy Spirit. (John 10:10; Luke 8:15; 1 Peter 1:23-24; Galatians 6:7; Titus 3:4-5; “The Struggle for Purity of Heart“; “Refining Your Heart“; “Book: Affairs of the Heart“; “Secession of the Heart“; “Living in an Apostate World“)

“For YAHWEH so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16, HRB
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending the Messiah, your only begotten Son to be my Savior. I believe in Him and have made this belief the center of my life. Because of this, by faith I have everlasting life! Thank you! I repent of my sins and of my past, freely admitting that I have fallen short of Your righteousness. I look fully forward to you in my life and commit my life to You. Thank You YHWH, my Heavenly Father for setting me free in the name of your Son Yahshua [Jesus]. May it be as you have promised!
genuine-articleYou will never enjoy true freedom through the Messiah and power of the Holy Spirit unless you read and absorb the Bible in prayer and trust. You will never know this freedom until you experience it for yourself. Get to know your Heavenly Father, His Son and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. The Holy Spirit is your teacher, your Holy Counselor that lives in you to help you learn about the truth of YHWH and His spiritual gifts.
Satan does not want you to have the excellence of YHWH in your life. People pray for protection and want to be taken care of, but often do little in growing close to Him. The world, your husband, your wife, your family, your government do not build your trust in YHWH or free you from spiritual bondage. Your church or your pastor cannot save you. Education, power and money will not free you, but only the Word of your Heavenly Father. Salvation is a daily walk, an act of love for yourself and for those around you, not a one-time event that centers only on you. Make the Word of YHWH your own, your very life!
YHWH is Yahweh, the covenant name of your Heavenly Father.
The names Yahshua and Yahushua are original language names for Jesus,
He is often referred simply as the Messiah or Master.
