A Yoke of Slavery or Freedom

by John Greene

“In the freedom with which Messiah has made us free, stand firm, then, and do not again be held with a yoke of slavery.” – Galatians 5:1, ISR98

Because we walk in the flesh, we do not serve according to the flesh. For the tools of our service in warfare are not fleshly, but powerful through Elohim to the destruction of strongholds. Destroy imaginations and all high places that are exalted over the knowledge of Elohim and make captive every mind to obedience of the Messiah.” – 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, direct translation

roman-battlement-sm2 Corinthians 10:3-5 was written for believers with the demolition of worldly strongholds in the mind and heart. If a believer could not return to slavery, disciples would not have been warned of the possibility. Captivity vs. freedom is the life issue of YHWH’s own people. In fact, most Christians seem to accept the slavery of the world over any real freedom through the Messiah, just as His own people did in Israel. (John 8:361 John 2:15-17; 1 Peter 2:15-16; 2 Corinthians 3:17; “Breaking Strongholds of False Authority“; “Who Is The Stronghold of Your Life?“; “Freedom from Spiritual Bondage“)

Unbelief is the primary stronghold that people battle with. Any idolatry of the world is the root of that slavery through strongholds, whether this is recognized or not. The fact is that disciples are at war with the enemy, part of a mighty warfare. Satan and his agents are not friends, nor can they be as they remain as they are. Much of Satan’s anger will be directed against Christians as the time draws closer to the revealing of YHWH’s Kingdom. (Matthew 22:14; John 12:48; ”Filling Your Life with Truth Instead of Deception“; “The Idolatry Factor“; “Incentives of Deception“; “Authority: The Real Meaning of Romans 13“)

fireThe time is close, so the ‘fire’ is turned up with the idea of flipping you to Satan’s side. Compromise and consent is all it takes. Put on the full armor of your Heavenly Father and continue in full trust. To stand is not simply an act of standing still. If you are standing still or are backed into a corner, you aren’t moving forward, which is where your trust in Elohim must take you. If you can find like-minded people that are willing to put on the full armor, you will also be able to more effectively use the large shields in tandem (as in the image above), providing better protection from the fiery arrows of the dark kingdom. (Ephesians 6:16; Psalm 91:1-7; “The Armor of Elohim“; Strongholds & the Armor of YHWH“; “YHWH’s Prayer Shawl of Protection“; “Psalm 91: Lifestyle & Protection“)

free from captivityRemember that the greatest weapon that Satan and his agents have are tools of deception and distraction. Strongholds start as thoughts taken captive, removed from the Kingdom of Elohim. The agency of the dark kingdom isn’t discriminating about which stumbling block does the job. They just want your worship, your allegiance, a token of incense to the emperor, and they want to keep you on their side through any means possible. The token of incense may even be made to appear innocent and desirable, or made to become that way. Being set apart and continuing through the power of the Set Apart Spirit* is how you overcome the darkness with the light of the Kingdom. (Matthew 5:16John 1:5; 1 John 1:7Galatians 6:7-8; Romans 12:1-2; “The Secret Weapons of Disciples“; “Knowing Where You Stand on YHWH’s Threshing Floor“; “The Wheels of Ezekiel“)

“For YAHWEH so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16, HRB
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending the Messiah, your only begotten Son to be my Savior. I believe in Him and have made this belief the center of my life. Because of this, by faith I have everlasting life! Thank you! I repent of my sins and of my past, freely admitting that I have fallen short of Your righteousness. I look fully forward to you in my life and commit my life to You. Thank You YHWH, my Heavenly Father for setting me free in the name of your Son Yahshua [Jesus]. May it be as you have promised!
genuine-articleYou will never enjoy true freedom through the Messiah and power of the Holy Spirit unless you read and absorb the Bible in prayer and trust. You will never know this freedom until you experience it for yourself. Get to know your Heavenly Father, His Son and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. The Holy Spirit is your teacher, your Holy Counselor that lives in you to help you learn about the truth of YHWH and His spiritual gifts.
Satan does not want you to have the excellence of YHWH in your life. People pray for protection and want to be taken care of, but often do little in growing close to Him. The world, your husband, your wife, your family, your government do not build your trust in YHWH or free you from spiritual bondage. Your church or your pastor cannot save you. Education, power and money will not free you, but only the Word of your Heavenly Father. Salvation is a daily walk, an act of love for yourself and for those around you, not a one-time event that centers only on you. Make the Word of YHWH your own, your very life!
YHWH is Yahweh, the covenant name of your Heavenly Father.
The names Yahshua and Yahushua are original language names for Jesus,
He is often referred simply as the Messiah or Master.
