It seems that everyone has an opinion on what the occult is. The word comes from Latin, meaning ‘knowledge of what is hidden or secret.’ Clearly, it’s much more than that. Multitudes say that occult practices relate directly to and come directly from demons or spirits, what is called the ‘supernatural.’ There are those that claim that this is a study of the ‘truth’ – of what is really behind the surface. Some even apply this same definition to YHWH, the Creator and Father. Even some of the early Hebrews-Jews did this. This is based in the pride of man, the need to be more powerful and special. The idea that the occult is somehow ‘secret’ isn’t entirely wrong for many, for not everyone knows everything about anything. Yet, there is a very real truth about the occult that is missed by virtually everyone.
Man specializes in the occult, this ‘hidden knowledge’ that seeks advantage over others. It’s part of the rebellion of mankind against Father YHWH, which continues into this day. There is little mystery to this (except for those that want to claim it is a mystery to put something over on you), for it is separation from Elohim [‘God’, YHWH], the rejection of His Son and Spirit. It is trading the good news message of salvation for a similar message of deception that only leads to death and destruction. ‘Knowledge’ and ‘wisdom’ apart from Elohim are nothing. The reasoning of men and women is ultimately doomed to failure. In reality, what is known is quite limited, regardless of the proud advancements and proclamations made. Men and women are tinkerers, playing on what has already been created, with the expectation of benefiting self. Forgotten is the reality that YHWH is the oasis of disciples that trust and believe what He says in scripture. Forgotten is the reality that His beloved are set apart to Him. (Matthew 16:19-23; 1 John 5:19; Romans 12:1-2; 1 Samuel 15:23; Deuteronomy 28:47-48; “YHWH’s Track of Righteousness”; “Scriptures – Qodesh, Being Set Apart“; “Replacing Sin and Becoming Set Apart“; “Being Set Apart Makes You Aware of Sin“; “Foundation of Salvation“)
“Enter in through the narrow gate. Because wide is the gate and spacious the road, put to death through destruction, and many, by their reason, agree to enter. For narrow is the gate and troublesome is the road, the one that leads to life, and few agree to obtain it.“ – Matthew 7:13-14, direct translation
The Bible lays out what rebellion is on very clear terms, terms that are most often ignored, even by mainstream ‘Christians’ and their leaders. It’s an ugly business of rebellion that is getting uglier as the Apocalypse [the Revealing of Elohim’s Kingdom] nears. Variations of the occult have been established as the foundation and structure of the world system in place now. Occult thinking has created many of the behaviors of mankind, contaminating the pure creation of YHWH. This same kind of occult thinking has been placed in religions throughout the world, including a majority of Christianity. Regardless of what this occult thinking says, what you reject or fail to know through Elohim’s Word of scripture, can cost you personally and dearly. Grace is the time you have to repent, to turn your life to Him, as you avoid the sin of the world that promotes it. Messiah Yahshua [Jesus] is your example. The Holy Spirit is the Counselor of those that do not reject Him. (1 Peter 2:21; Titus 1:8-9, 2:1; 2 Timothy 2:15, 4:3; 2 Corinthians 2:10-11; “Is Your Forgiveness Real?”; “Understanding Sin“; “The Unpardonable Sin“; “Persisting Against Deception & Oppression During Tribulation“; “The Grace of YHWH’s Vineyard“)
For those of us that have been brought up as ‘Christians,’ belief is usually strong that a large chasm exists between ‘us’ and what is ‘of Satan’ and his agents. What is ‘of Satan’ has been redefined by the religion of man and distorted by the culture of the world [kosmos]. Whether you are a Christian or not, the world is generally seen as a place where man rules. Many say that man rules ‘under God.’ This is not the god that they expect. The truth is that Satan rules through man, making the rule of man ‘wicked’ and ‘antichrist.’ He has twisted truth into many lies. The lie has been promoted that the rule of mankind through the agency of Satan is fully supported ‘by God.’ Scripture has been subtly mistranslated and misapplied to make this point (by those that would lead you after themselves). Many want to believe that ‘God’s Word’ is infallible and inerrant, which is true regarding the original text. Man’s translation of ‘God’s Word’ is not without error or misunderstanding in the flesh. (“Life Healing and Belief“; “Disciple of Messiah: Live Your Belief“; “Keeping Your Mind on What is Above“; “Are You One of the Walking Dead?“; “The Role of Authority in Your Life“; “Disciples of Messiah & the Authority of Man“; “Authority Scriptures“)
Many believe that scripture, along with the understanding that has been promoted to them, is infallible and without error. Scripture and the understanding of it has been toyed with by those that would rule over others. This was largely accomplished by ‘church leadership’ long ago under Constantine and the ‘Roman Catholic Church.’ They have destroyed or concealed many important documents to supplant the authority of YHWH, to make His authority their own. The Christianity that has survived is a tool of religion and politics, not the truth of Yahshua [Jesus] the Messiah or Father YHWH. King James, who commissioned another translation, did much the same thing as the Catholics, fashioning scripture after his own tastes and agenda. Elohim’s Spirit has not been part of the error and illusions created by mankind. Error has been continued and promoted by ‘Protestant’ belief because the vast majority have failed to look at the roots of their belief versus what scripture really says. They are fearful in approaching the truth, so they have invented another one for public consumption. The roots of truth in the original language and text of scripture are simply too radical for most to accept or believe when they challenge what is already believed. (Matthew 13:18-23; Ephesians 2:1-2; “Third Century Corruption of Christianity“; “Religion, Politics, Power & Financial Corruption“; “Wisdom & the Battle of Two Kingdoms“; “Living in an Apostate World“; “Your Master & Your Obedience“; “Playing It Safe With Another Gospel“)
Based on what the world says, the actual definition of the occult is seeking truth apart from YHWH, which is actually deliberate separation from YHWH Almighty. Being separated from the Father YHWH is very easy when you aren’t living your life in agreement with Him. This lack of agreement is what defines sin. The Bible lays out this reality for all to see, showing the struggle that men and women have had with Satan and the corruption of their trust in YHWH, Yahshua [Jesus] and the Holy Spirit [Dedicated, Set Apart Spirit or Ruach]. The fruit of this occult of ‘higher knowledge’ continues to rule the world of man, with results that you clearly see and are accustomed to. Most rarely question them. You should, for these results have only brought about great pain and deception. (John 16:1-11; “Disciple: The Bible & Higher Authority“; “Deceptions of Ages: How People are Deceived“; “Fighting a World of Fear & Delusion“; “Babylon & the Foul Ones“)
Who are these agents of Satan fully supported by? It’s a question that is rarely asked in proper context. You must ask it and answer it to your own satisfaction. Only then can you begin to have the truth of Elohim’s righteousness. (Acts 26:17-18; “Balancing Authority & the Road to Enslavement“; “Spiritual Authority & Satan’s Wheels of Destruction“; “The Challenge of Living in Righteousness“)
The culture that all of us live in has created a grand delusion of distraction and confusion, the Babylon that scripture points out. This is the reality of spiritual war that every man, woman and child is involved in. Satan seeks to destroy everyone that he can. His agents of world power are only too happy to have the world follow after them, whether they are aware of their role in a great spiritual war or not. The great evil of Satan is being used to destroy every man, woman and child possible. As Yahshua [Jesus] told His disciples, Satan masquerades as a messenger of light. Satan’s master plan of destruction marches forward as a messenger of truth. (2 Corinthians 11:3-14; 1 John 3:8-10; James 4:7; Ephesians 4:27; “Delusion & the Tightening Noose of the Beast System“; “End TiDelusion: Seeking A United Nations of Religion“; “The Image & Mark of the Beast System“; “Destruction Is Satan’s Intent“; “Breakthrough Prayer: Satanic Attack“)
Occultism is craft that appears to shine the light as the answer or solution to a problem, when the solution is actually counterfeit. (2 Corinthians 11:4, 14-15) You know the difference from the scriptures and counsel of the Holy Spirit, which never goes against scripture. That is why you need to know what scripture says for yourself. You will know it by its fruit. (John 4:24, 8:44, 10:10, 15:1-17; Acts 13:10; Ephesians 5:8-11, 6:11-16; 2 Thessalonians 2:9; James 3:17; Psalm 1:1-6; “Battling Satan With the Word“; “Overcoming Satanic Attack“; “Listening to the Holy Spirit“; “Culture: Prompting Falsehood Through the Lie“; “Redefining Good“; “The God of General Goodness“)
The agenda of false religion seeks to elevate man’s authority and demote Yahshua [Jesus] as Son of YHWH, or both of them, even to turn Yahshua [Jesus] into merely a historical figure or one prophet of many. It may or may not promote a ‘new age’ pantheon of gods. It promotes a universal, impersonal god. It may promote there is no good or evil, or may seek to redefine these standards. It may involve unrighteous meditation that seeks to empty self using an altered state of consciousness. (John 14:6; 1 Timothy 4:1-3; Ephesians 4:14; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:18-20; “The Parthenon & the Spirit of Humanism“; “Incentives of Deception“; “Filling Your Life with Truth Instead of Deception“; “The Magi of this Age“)
You need to discern, so you cannot be ignorant of the truth. Is scripture in context – if so, how do you know? How is Yahshua [Jesus] represented? (Matthew 24:3-24; 1 John 4:1; Deuteronomy 18:10-13) The occult is actually what is represented in the world that is apart from Elohim, what He condemns – not simply things like tarot cards, clairvoyance or other mysticism. Consider carefully the roots of ‘alternative medicine’ and ‘western medicine.’ Political philosophies should be closely considered. They are of the world. The laws of the nation that you live in may even be against the context of scripture. The workings of these people in authority usually are. That is why you should question actively supporting them through the political process. Yahshua [Jesus] and scripture reveals what you ‘owe’ to government. Be wary of anything you don’t know about. (Matthew 7:15-20; Colossians 2:8; 1 Thessalonians 5:21; 1 Peter 5:8; “Discernment the World Doesn’t Have“; “Discernment: Having an Ear to Deeper Understanding“; “Knowledge of Good & Evil“; “Trusting in YHWH Instead of Princes“; “Politics & the Path to Enlightenment“)
Behaviors usually rooted in occult thinking, fantasies and addictions:
Yahshua [Jesus] was accused, even publicly at His crucifixion at Matthew 27:37
Deception through distraction, accusing others while in sin, finger pointing, manipulation, control, a critical spirit, discontent, false accusation, calling to account, finding fault, holding onto offense, holding a record of wrongs/storing emotional hurts and placing them on others, murder of tongue through gossip and slander, blaming, bringing about formal charges, mind control or programming, efforts to control others, comparing yourself to others, personality masking, chaotic or jumbled thinking, unforgiven misunderstandings, fear projected on others, fear created through oppression and trauma, burden bearing or martyr complex, seeking false authority over another, envy (discontent or ill will because of the advantage of another), jealousy (intolerant of rivalry and making an idol of something), making others a scapegoat, seeking retaliation, racism, justifying bitterness. (“Messiah & the Tool of Envy“; “A Mind of Envy and Competition“; “What is Evil? The Jealousy of Nations & Skeptics“; “Forsaking Bitterness“; “The Truth About Anger“; “The Stronghold of Anger“; “Scripture, Slavery & Racial Bias in this Age“)
Accusation causes separation from Elohim [Father, Son & Spirit] (Revelation 12:9-10).
Mankind imitates him instead of admitting sin or wrongdoing while turning to Elohim in forgiveness.
The attributes of jealousy, envy and accusation bear strife and work against peace. (Luke 12:15; James 3:16; Galatians 5:25-26; Hebrews 13:5; “Breakthrough Prayer: Jealousy“; “Breakthrough Prayer: Envy“; “Breakthrough Prayer: Anger-Rage“)
Fear is to be scared, worried or anxious over the future – something that hasn’t happened yet, or that might happen. Fear is speculation. Fear can result in ‘fight or flight’ or increasing resistance. Fear can induce exhaustion and ill health because your mind and body are not designed to live in continual and ongoing fear.
Fear is a lack of trust, a real spiritual problem. Even the medical and scientific community of man acknowledges that fear and stress cause many health conditions. Fear is not trust, but contrary to trust in Elohim and His provision. (Matthew 6:25, 31; Luke 12:22; 2 Timothy 1:7; Romans 14:23; Philippians 4:6)
Fear is a habit, acquired through a lack of trust (some say ‘faith’). Trust is borne of expectation of Elohim’s promises, even though they may be unseen. Fear is a lack of trust in these expectations, in His promises. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5; Hebrews 11:1; 1 John 4:18) Worry or anxiety are torment expressed through fear. Suspicion and a focus on past betrayal result are building blocks to worry. Trauma is usually an entry point to fear. Accusation, rejection and bitterness lead easily into expressing fear instead of love. Fear is removed through love or acceptance as a person. Fears must be recognized in order to be overcome. (Proverbs 13:12; “Scriptures: Do Not Fear“; “Fear & YHWH’s Protection“; “Breakthrough Prayer: Rejection“)
Trust leads and fear divides or compels. Fear is involved in virtually every worldly stronghold in your life.
Rejection steals the truth and provision of Elohim from you and others, sets you in opposition to Elohim. Rejection steals your true identity. Yahshua [Jesus] bore rejection so that you could be accepted. (Isaiah 53:1; Psalm 69:1-36; Ephesians 1:6)
Rejection is unloving, a sense that a person has no value or is unwanted. Rejection expresses disgust, disdain, neglect and abandonment. Rejection starts fights, is oversensitive, twists words and intentions, looks at every action through in great detail, even to the point of obsession. Words of rejection hurt as well. (Matthew 12:36-37; Proverbs 18:8, 14)
Rejection says that man’s acceptance is more important than the acceptance of Elohim. (Romans 3:21, 8:15; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 4:7, 5:5; Ephesians 1:4-5; 2 Timothy 4:8; Revelation 3:5; Deuteronomy 32:9-10; Isaiah 49:14, 54:1-17; Psalm 139:1-24; “Breakthrough Prayer: Personal Healing“; “Breakthrough Prayer: Love“)
The fruits of rejection are bitterness, anger and fear, resulting in defense mechanisms of self-protection grounded in an unloving spirit. It can result in self-rejection, depression, insecurity, being double-minded, deep hurt and wounding, pride, self-adulation or idolatry, patterning after others, possessiveness, emotional dependency and smothering, rebellion, lack of thankfulness, creating false responsibility and burdens. (“Breakthrough Prayer: Strongholds“; “The Basics of Strongholds & Idolatry“; “The Idolatry Factor“)
Brings torment to others, preventing one from giving love to others or receiving love. An unloving spirit is notably produced from bitterness and rejection, a person that always focuses on self. It is an abusive spirit of bondage that often drives people toward perfectionism, acceptance and double-minded thinking. (“Breakthrough Prayer: Driven Behavior & Perfectionism“)
A life experience of great rejection, bitterness and hatred can induce a person toward a false personality of self-promotion and exaltation with a spirit of excellence rooted in perfectionism. An unloving spirit seeks to induce self-pity and brokenness.
An unloving spirit does not forgive.
The complete and wholesome love of the Father binds your broken heart, casting out the fear that an unloving spirit has instilled within you. (Matthew 22:37; John 3:16-17; Galatians 5:14; Isaiah 61:1; Proverbs 17:22; “Agape: Discipleship is Renewal“; “Honoring a Wife of Valor“)
An unloving spirit drives addictions. When you do not receive unconditional love as a foundation, most look other places to fill themselves as an antidote to this lack of love. Being able to abide in the love of Elohim results in the freedom of addictions. These addictions can be passed through generations as an addictive pattern of sin: drunkenness, deception, fornication, calling evil good, witchcraft that binds the body and and mind. (Deuteronomy 18:9-12; Exodus 20:13-15; “Breaking the Hold of Addictions through Temptation“; “Breakthrough Prayer: Addiction“; “Breaking the Hold of Addictive Behavior and Stress“)
