What you want to to do is what you want to do.
So why not do it? Hm-m. That’s an interesting question.
After all, isn’t doing what you want to do exactly what everyone has been doing for as long as we have ever experienced living? Perhaps not, but we still do lots of stuff that has little, if any benefit. Whether we care to admit the truth, each of us does lots of useless stuff. Lots of cultural stuff. Plenty of distracted stuff. Lots of extras, without much benefit to anyone, much less yourself. Chances are that somebody else told you, or persuaded you to do what you are doing in some or every aspect of your life. What’s worse is that you don’t truly know why. Maybe you thought what you were doing was important – or the right thing. (1 Corinthians 10:23; “Frenzy, Fear & Power“; “Filling Your Life with Truth Instead of Deception“; “Millenniums of Human Exploitation“)
You were probably chasing a dollar on a stick as multitudes do. 25 hours a day wouldn’t be enough for that. With the kind of lifestyles and habits that many lead, they’ll never have time to do what they really care about, if they know what that is. They live in a kind of automatic overdrive, living with the local perception of lack, one of the defining features of economic life in this system built by man. This is not unlike chasing the end of a rainbow. Someone is continually redefining, changing and manipulating – stealing from you, stealing your life. Even the ‘compassion’ of the wicked is cruel in the end. (2 Timothy 2:4, 3:1-5; 1 Corinthians 2:14; 2 Corinthians 4:4 ; Proverbs 12:10, 28:19; “Leaders & the Antichrist Spirit of Wisdom“; “The Antichrist & the War on Reality“; “The Image & Mark of the Beast System“; “The Magi of this Age“; “The Man of Lawlessness“)
When you consider the balance in your life for a moment, you realize that all that stuff you are doing isn’t really what you want to do at all. So – you can begin to identify with Isaiah when he asks this timeless, yet rarely pondered question.
“Why spend silver for what is not food and labor for what is not sufficient? …”
Isaiah seems to be pondering the value of striving for sustenance, for chasing what isn’t truly beneficial or profitable. Every man, woman and child needs food, but we need more to sustain us. Living is more than survival, or even a hurried and frenzied life. Why are you laboring so hard for that dollar on a stick that never truly meets your needs? Your life, your time, sweat and labor are limited and precious in an age of titanic waste and theft. What you do with your time is where you spend your ‘silver’. (Ephesians 5:11-21; Proverbs 12:11; Ecclesiastes 1:2-3; Job 12:1-25; “Gods in Their Own Minds“; “Are You a Slave to the Job God?“; “Are You One of the Walking Dead?“)
“Woe to all that thirst. Come to the waters. Those that have no silver, come to buy and eat. Come to buy wine and milk without silver, without price. Why spend silver for what is not food and labor for what is not sufficient? Discern with understanding and eat My treasures. Your spirit will delight in abundance.” – Isaiah 55:1-2, direct translation
We live in a world of mock scarcity, a scarcity that is designed to control, a method designed to gather abundance using monetary magic, even creating the illusion of abundance out of thin air from trickery. Even the wealthiest do not feel secure. You never get ahead. The illusion of wealth is never enough. The separation between the wealthy and the poor continues to widen. Yet, Isaiah exposes something more than simply food, wine and milk. He reveals the solution to the constant, driving competition and endless measuring in a world that most openly consent to, even when these kinds of things threaten personal well-being. (Luke 16:13; 2 Timothy 2:15, 26; 1 John 2:4, 27; “Foundation of a Global System of Greed“; “Living in an Apostate World“)
There exists no scarcity in YHWH’s Kingdom. He wants you to understand that. This is not a myth. It isn’t magic. It’s merely different than what you are accustomed to. Consider the Hebrew slaves as they traveled out of Egypt. They had trouble wrapping their minds around their freedom and what they saw as uncertainty. They saw the freedom, but they didn’t believe it. The didn’t understand freedom or real trust. When they were challenged, they wanted to return to slavery. To the slave mindset, freedom and trust are most challenging. We face the same challenge in this age. (Luke 4:18-19; Galatians 5:1-13; 1 Peter 2:16; Romans 6:22, 8:20-21; James 1:22-25; Isaiah 53:6, 61:1; Numbers 11:4-6; Jeremiah 7:25-26; “Freedom In Truth“; “Breaking Strongholds of False Authority“: “Culture: Prompting Falsehood Through the Lie“; “World Order Built On Money and False Security“; “Balancing Authority & the Road to Enslavement“)
Instead, YHWH advises:
“Incline your ear, come to understand and preserve your spirit. I will cut an eternal covenant, established through loving-kindness to David.” – Isaiah 55:3, direct translation
YHWH wants everyone that will to join in the same covenant of loving-kindness that He extended to a nation of men, women and children that rejected Him overall. This was never about religion, but about trust. The world of man is a desert where the natural state of habitation is thirst. Through His Son and Set Apart Spirit [‘Holy Spirit‘], YHWH offers His living waters of salvation and separation to Him. When you live for Him now, you have a future through His provision. (John 6:43-71, 7:38; Jude 1:23; Romans 10:1-13; 1 Samuel 8:7-8, 10:1-27, 11:1-15; Proverbs 15:1-3; Exodus 5:21, 16:3; Numbers 11:5-6, 13:1-22, 14:1-10; Nehemiah 9:34-35; “YHWH’s Provision“; “Sleepless Nights: Trust for Provision“)
The big question is whether you will accept His generous offer. Contrary to what those in the world may say, His grace comes with conditions. That is why scripture says:
“Enter in through the narrow gate. Because wide is the gate and spacious the road, put to death through destruction, and many, by their reason, agree to enter. For narrow is the gate and troublesome is the road, the one that leads to life, and few agree to obtain it.
Take heed that you separate yourselves from false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inside are ravening wolves. You will know to mark them by their fruit. Does anyone gather grapes from a thorn, or a fig from a brier? In this way, all beneficial trees bear honest fruit, but a worthless tree bears harmful fruit. A beneficial tree cannot bear harmful fruit, neither a worthless tree bear honest fruit. All trees that do not bear honest fruit are cut down and cast into fire. In this manner, by their fruit you will know them.
Not all that say to Me, ‘Master, Master,’ enter into the purpose of the Kingdom of Heaven. To the contrary, he that yields the purpose of My Father in Heaven. Many say to Me in that Day, ‘Master, Master, have we not prophesied in Your Name, and in Your Name cast out devils and in Your Name yielded many miracles? Then at that time I will agree with the authority of Heaven, them I never knew. You! Depart from Me ministers of wickedness.” – Matthew 7:13-23, direct translation
Scripture indicates that we receive the Father YHWH’s grace [loving-kindness] by obtaining it, through expressing both His love and obedience through trust (belief). These are expected to follow the example of Yahshua [Jesus] the Messiah, to guide others to His truth grounded in the rock of scripture. This is not radical news, but many that declare themselves to be Christians would scream that this is not so – that His grace is free and that nothing is required on their part. Grace is free, extended to all that are willing to listen, but obedience and love always have a cost in a world of sin. (“The Grace of YHWH’s Vineyard“; “A Matter of Grace“; “Cultivating YHWH’s Grace as You Seek Truth“; “Knowing Where You Stand on YHWH’s Threshing Floor“; “YHWH’s Track of Righteousness“)
As the end arrives, three distinct groups of people are judged according to their fruit:
Those that thought they were set apart through Messiah and Spirit, but weren’t and didn’t know this;
those that gave up every opportunity to live a life set apart through Messiah and Spirit, and didn’t know this;
those that were living set apart to Him through Messiah and Spirit, with an open and obedient mind and heart full of love.
Which group do you rest in? While you may feel somewhat uncertain, the writing is on the wall, so to speak. Your fruit determines what group you reside in. This is measured by the scriptural definition of sin, a standard established as Elohim’s [‘God’, YHWH] track of righteousness long ago. (“Understanding Sin“)
“So Yahshua [Jesus] answering, said to them, ‘Beware that nobody deceives you because many will come in my authority saying ‘I am anointed.’ So many will be deceived. Also, you should expect to hear of wars and reports of wars. Take note that you aren’t frightened because all must come to pass. Nevertheless, the conclusion is not yet.
For nation will rear up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and will be scarcity of food, and plagues, and earthquakes in occupied places. Now all these things begin pains of distress. At that time you will be surrendered to pressure and death. You even will be hated under all nations for My authority. And at that time many will be enticed and will betray one another. For many false prophets will rear up and deceive many, for wickedness will multiply. The love of many will be chilled, but they that endure to the end, they will be saved. For that good message of the Kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world for a testimony to all nations, and at that time the end will come.’” – Matthew 24:4-14, direct translation
Pursuits in the world of man have very limited value, but the Word of YHWH is priceless to all that listen to it, respond to it, and then obey it. Those that listen and pay close attention bear the fruit of obedience and love. They make Elohim and His Word their own. They see salvation. They also live it in the Spirit. This is not emptying yourself, but rather, allowing the Set Apart Spirit [‘Holy Spirit‘] to fill you to overflowing, expressing that to others. (John 7:37-38; Acts 1:8; James 2:26; 2 Corinthians 3:1-18; 5:17; Romans 10:11-15; Psalm 23:5-6; Isaiah 40:31; “Understanding Real Prosperity“; “Leadership & Highly Effective People“; “The Unpardonable Sin“; “Messiah Teaches about Fruit in the Lives of People“)
When you are living a life that is hardly distinguishable from those in the world around you, and believe you are a Christian, even while depending on your tithe to a ‘man of God’ to get the job done (His purpose), you fall into one group.
When you are living a life according to your own way, apart from YHWH, Son and Spirit, you fall into one group.
When you are living a life, bearing fruit according to Elohim’s track of righteousness, you fall into one group.
Which group you reside in is entirely dependent on you and the decisions that you make. Perfection is not required, simply that you begin to live for Elohim’s purpose; the purpose that Yahshua [Jesus] gave His disciples; the purpose that the Counselor, the Set Apart Spirit, wants to guide you in as you seek Him. (Matthew 9:37-38, 28:18-20; John 10:10, 16; Ephesians 3:14-20; Romans 12:1-2; Philemon 1:6; “Exchanging Delusion for Regeneration“; “Disciples: Focused on the Messiah & His Purpose“)
“So Yahshua [Jesus] said to those Jews that believed Him, ‘When you continue in My Word, you have been disciples of mine in truth. And knowing this truth frees you.’” – John 8:31-32, direct translation
Where are you spending your silver, your life? Are you spending your silver on what is insufficient or lacking – what can be stolen from you? It’s up to you to see and act on the truth of the matter, whether you will bear honest fruit according to scripture or harmful fruit derived from the world. (Matthew 6:24-33, 7:7; John 14:6, 15:1-8; Ephesians 5:1)
