The purpose of each disciple of the Messiah isn’t to prove others wrong, but to point to the Truth of the Father [YHWH] and the importance of salvation through Yahshua [Jesus]. When talking and teaching others you may well operate in the role of prophet, where sin is measured and compared to the truth of scripture through the work of the Holy Spirit. The Word of the Father’s Truth often convicts hearts, sharper than a two-edged sword. (Hebrews 4:12) If you are actively talking to others about the Kingdom of YHWH, your Heavenly Father, you are acting in that role. At the same time, the purpose of each disciple is to seek a deeper understanding of Bible truth. Each disciple of Yahshua [Jesus] the Messiah is to seek truth, and with humility and due respect, to give answer to YHWH for personal discovery, growing in His truth as a new creation through the Messiah and the Holy Spirit or “Set-Apart Spirit.” Even as a new creation of Messiah through the Holy Spirit, you remain fully aware of your personal limitations and strive to avoid nonproductive wrangling over doctrine intended to advance a particular “church”, philosophy, or political agenda. Bible truth is your only concern when you are a genuine disciple. You are so concerned with truth that you are willing to study the roots of the Bible by researching original text. These materials are readily available for those that choose to do so. (Colossians 3:1, 10; Ephesians 4:24; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 6:6; 1 Corinthians 2:14)
Research and study, resulting in heart-changing knowledge are required to make the Father’s truth your own. Thinking and changing attitudes as you mature spiritually is important. Prayer and listening to the Holy Spirit are key elements in understanding what success really is outside of what the world thinks. In all of our years as students of Bible truth, we have to a firm hold on this idea: you can’t truly understand the details of the Bible unless you are willing to engage in personal Bible study, prayer and continually seeking the Will of YHWH. Understanding the meanings of the original Bible languages is an important step in making the truth your own. You can get the best sense or understanding of what are often very important nuances in the actual language of the Bible writer when you aren’t a slave to Bible translations for complete understanding. Remember, whether Jew or Gentile, YHWH’s people can perish for a lack of knowledge, (2 Peter 3:9; Ephesians 4:14-15; Hosea 4:6) so discernment is always required. This only happens as you grow in spiritual maturity. May you continue to be blessed as you read, study, and pray about what you learn as you seek YHWH’s Spirit more fully in your life!
