The Promise of Healing

bible-7The Bible proclaims divine healing through the righteous, redemptive sacrifice of our Savior and Messiah, Yahshua [Jesus]. A majority of the world and even a large percentage of Christians see this as nothing but quackery. They have been fooled by the world. They would rather look to man for their significance. Where do you look? The Torah and the word of the Prophets uses seven redemptive names of Elohim [‘God’, YHWH]. One of these is YHWH-Ropheka: “I YHWH heal.” (literal translation from Exodus 15:26) However, Elohim’s promise must be read in context.

“And Moses made Israel to pull out from the Sea of Reeds. And they went out into the wilderness of Shur. And they went into the wilderness three days, and did not find water. And they came to Marah. And they were not able to drink water from Marah, for it was bitter. Therefore, one called its name Marah. And the people murmured against Moses, saying, ‘What shall we drink?’ And he cried to YAHWEH, and YAHWEH showed him a tree. And he threw it into the water, and the water became sweet. He made a statute and an ordinance for them there, and He tested them there. And He said, ‘If you carefully listen to the voice of YAHWEH your Elohim, and do what is right in His eyes, and you give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will not put on you all the diseases which I have put on Egypt; for I am YAHWEH Rapha (your Healer).’” – Exodus 15:22-26, HRB

Like many other promises, this one is commonly shortened and improperly quoted. Elohim’s promise is conditional. His people are to diligently heed His voice, do what is righteous in His sight, hear His commandments and guard them. (“YHWH; The Choice to Stay Loyal“; “YHWH’s Track of Righteousness“; “YHWH’s Prayer Shawl of Protection“)

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall prove wrong. This is the inheritance of the servants of YHWH, and their righteousness from Me,” declares YHWH” – Isaiah 54:17, ISR98

When you fulfill your part of the agreement, as His obedient servant, Elohim is your Healer. Based on this knowledge, Elohim’s people are aware of these truths:

Healing Comes Because of Messiah

Living in the midst of the dark kingdom and locked within imperfect physical bodies, Christians often have illness to contend with. Part of the provision through the death of the Messiah was healing for the gathering of Messiah. Elohim created these bodies through our human parents through the generations and has proved fully capable of healing. The Bible says that healing comes because of the Messiah. (“Life Healing and Belief“; “Healing Wounds That People Can’t See“; “Wisdom & the Battle of Two Kingdoms“)

“He is despised and abandoned of men, a Man of pains, and acquainted with sickness. And as it were hiding our faces from Him, He being despised, and we did not value Him. Surely He has borne our sicknesses, and He carried our pain; yet we esteemed Him plagued, smitten by Elohim, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His wounds we ourselves are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have each one turned to his own way; and YAHWEH made meet in Him the iniquity of all of us.” – Isaiah 53:3-6, HRB

“And evening having come on, they brought to Him many having been possessed by demons. And He cast out the spirits by a word, and He healed all those having illness, so that it might be fulfilled that spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, ‘He took upon Himself our sorrows, and bore our sicknesses.'” – Matthew 8:16-17, HRB

Our Messiah was anointed through the Holy Spirit [Dedicated, Set Apart Spirit] to heal as part of His divine purpose on earth. (Luke 4:18) By His stripes, healing belongs to His people. (1 Peter 2:24) Isaiah prophesied that Yahshua [Jesus] would bear the iniquity of His people. (Isaiah 53:4-5) Provision for healing is always in the name of Yahshua [Jesus]. (Acts 4:30) In Yahshua [Jesus], all the fullness and power of Elohim resides, so the power over illness is resident in Him and through Him as the High Priest of His people. (Colossians 2:9; “Listening to the Holy Spirit“; “Gifts of the Spirit“)

Yahshua [Jesus] Has Power Over All Disease

“And Yahshua went around all Galilee teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people. And the report of Him went out into all Syria. And they brought to Him all the ones being badly ill, suffering various diseases and torments, also those being demon-possessed, and those being lunatics, and paralytics; and He healed them.” – Matthew 4:23-24, HRB

No disease or disease was too much for Yahshua [Jesus]! He healed all manner of disease. (Luke 6:6-10, 13:11) He healed fever (Matthew 8:14-15), leprosy (Matthew 8:2-3), paralytics (John 5:1-9), withered limbs (Luke 6:6-10), palsy (Luke 5:17-26), blind (Mark 10:46-52), hemorrhaging (Luke 8:43-48), nervous conditions (Matthew 15:21-28), deafness (Matthew 11:5), muteness (Luke 11:14), seizures (Matthew 17:14-20), crippling spirits (Luke 13:10-17), dropsy (Luke 14:1-6), severed ear (Luke 22:49-51), unclean spirits (Luke 6:18), and demon possession. (Luke 8:36; “Disease & Spiritual Roots“; “Spiritual Disease that Eats at Your Salvation“; “Healing and Personal Trust“)

His Followers Have Been Given Power

“And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.” – Matthew 10:1

Divine healing did not end with early ministry of Yahshua [Jesus]. It has been carried ahead by His disciples, the ones that believe that Yahshua [Jesus] still lives and still heals. His disciples have been given power just as He used it. The Gospel of Mark records that Yahshua [Jesus] gave them power to heal sicknesses. (Mark 3:15) Luke, the physician, records that Yahshua [Jesus] gave them authority to cure diseases and heal the sick. (Luke 9:1-2) Yahshua [Jesus] said that certain signs would follow those who believe in Him. Among those signs is that His disciples would lay hands on the sick and they would recover. (Mark 16:18) More specifically they would do as Moses did in the desert as the nation looked upon the serpent as an antidote for the bite of serpents. They would go through the trial, but would rendered immune from the curse of it. They would look to the healing sacrifice of the Messiah from deep within the belief in their heart and receive their healing. (“Learning From Snakes in the Wilderness“)

It was commonplace for early believers to pray for the sick. The sick were healed. (Acts 3:1-11, 8:6-7, 9:33-34, 14:8-11, 19:11-12, 28:8-9; 1 Corinthians 12:9, 28)

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever, the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” – John 14:12-17

The Process for Healing

“Does anyone suffer ill among you? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him praise in song. Is any among you sick? Let him call the elders of the Congregation, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of our Master. And the prayer of faith will heal those being sick, and our Master will raise him up. And if he may have committed sins, it will be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man is powerful. Even Elijah was a weak man like ourselves, and he prayed earnestly for it not to rain; and it did not rain on the earth three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth caused its fruit to sprout” – James 5:13-18, HRB

Yahshua [Jesus] told His disciples how to do it. Pray. Be cheerful and righteous. Do not fear. Sing psalms of praise. Call spiritual elders together in prayer and anoint with oil in the name of Messiah. (Mark 6:13) Be honest and open with your brothers in faith as you imitate the belief of Elijah, who was not our Savior, but a man. (Acts 28:8) The promise is for prayer in agreement with spiritual elders of like belief. (James 4:14-15) Disciples are to minister healing to others just as Yahshua [Jesus] did, and as if they were ministering to the Savior Himself. (Matthew 25:36-40; “Healing in a World of Rage“; “The Promise of Healing“; “Healing Scriptures“)

Healing Difficulties

Not all people receive healing as they would prefer or based on their conditions, nor should they expect to. (2 Timothy 4:20) This should not deter the faithful that believe. Spiritual warfare is ongoing, just as healing often is. Breaking the yoke of strongholds from the dark kingdom of the world is often the key to deliverance from disease because the world is full of diseased thinking and assumptions! (“Life Healing“; “Mind Filters“; “Mind Control of the Beast“; “Strongholds & the Armor of YHWH“)

Remember that physical healing, is at best, a temporary measure in this world system. We have not yet received incorruptible bodies. All those that Yahshua [Jesus] healed or raised up are now dead and waiting for the Resurrection of Judgment. (Hebrews 9:27) Sickness unto death is still possible, even with unswerving belief. (John 11:4; Romans 9:14, 16) Bible Vision covers these strongholds and how they operate in our books, “The New Man in Christ: Breaking Strongholds in God’s Perfect Will” and “Two Kingdoms: Genetics of Spiritual Warfare.”

Sickness often comes through personal disobedience to Elohim, which can only be healed through correction. Sickness also comes because of the repetitive acts and judgments of other men. All can be overcome through Messiah in the power of the Holy Spirit. (“YHWH’s People Walk by Trust and Obedience to His Word“; “Abiding With YHWH in Quiet Places“)

There are times when sin needs to be confessed to spiritual elders who will help to guide the spiritually and physically plagued. When disciples are willing to confess their faults and iniquities, healing can follow! (James 5:16; “Is Your Forgiveness Real?“; “Understanding Sin“)

Lack of forgiveness, as well as prolonged chronic stress, can be a major stronghold to healing. The lack of forgiveness is a major block for your prayer life as well. (John 9:31) “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” – Matthew 6:14-15

Without question, Elohim of Hosts [YHWH] desires that His people prosper and live in health, especially those that are actively doing His ministry in these final days. Disciples must do their part to clean out the debris of the mind and heart of the old man in exchange for putting on the new man in Messiah. Each disciple must seek to keep a clean mind and heart. This means limiting exposure to the fouling leaven of the world, wherever it resides (which is now in most things).

“Beloved, in regard to all things, I pray for you to prosper and to be in health, as your soul prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when the brethren came, also bearing witness of you in the truth, as you walk in truth. I have no greater joy than these things, that I hear my children are walking in truth.” – 3 John 2-4, HRB

“For YHWH so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16, RNKJV
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending the Messiah, your only begotten Son to be my Savior. I believe in Him and have made this belief the center of my life. Because of this, by faith I have everlasting life! Thank you! I repent of my sins and of my past, freely admitting that I have fallen short of Your glory. I look fully forward to you in my life and commit my life to You. Thank You YHWH, my Heavenly Father for setting me free in the name of your Son Yahshua [Jesus]. Amen.
genuine-articleYou will never enjoy true freedom through the Messiah and power of the Holy Spirit unless you read and absorb the Bible in prayer and trust. You will never know this freedom until you experience it for yourself. Get to know your Heavenly Father, His Son and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. The Holy Spirit is your teacher, your Holy Counselor that lives in you to help you learn about the truth of YHWH and His spiritual gifts.
Satan does not want you to have the excellence of YHWH in your life. People pray for protection and want to be taken care of, but often do little in growing close to Him. The world, your husband, your wife, your family, your government do not build your trust in YHWH or free you from spiritual bondage. Your church or your pastor cannot save you. Education, power and money will not free you, but only the Word of your Heavenly Father. Salvation is a daily walk, an act of love for yourself and for those around you, not a one-time event that centers only on you. Make the Word of YHWH your own, your very life!
YHWH is Yahweh, the covenant name of your Heavenly Father.
The names Yahshua and Yahushua are original language names for Jesus,
He is often referred simply as the Messiah or Master.
