Because Yahshua [Jesus] is One with Elohim [YHWH], part of Him, He lives forever and was present before the earth was created. (John 1:1-3, 18; 17:3, 5, 24) He lives with YHWH, reigning forever with Him as the Light of mankind, just as YHWH is. (John 1:4-5) In Bible scripture, Yahshua [Jesus] is revealed in power, even as He prepares His people for eternal life. He invites you to begin living in a personal eternal relationship with Him right now. He is the Way. (Isaiah 11:2) However, a genuine disciple of the Messiah must be fully equipped. How can you be fully equipped?
Yahshua [Jesus] instructed His disciples that the Set-Apart Holy Spirit would come after He ascended to heaven. (John 14:15-17; 16:12-15) The Holy Spirit would live within each obedient disciple of Messiah that received Him. The Holy Spirit guides, counsels and comforts each disciple. Through the Holy Spirit, the presence and power of Yahshua [Jesus] is multiplied through all that believe the truth of the Word that He presents to the world of man. Through YHWH’s Holy Spirit, each disciple is drawn to Him through trust. (Acts 1:8, 2:38; John 14:26; Galatians 5:22-23) You must know the Holy Spirit to understand all that Yahshua [Jesus] taught. You can experience the love of the Messiah and the guidance of the Holy Spirit as you allow the Holy Spirit to do His work in you. (1 John 4:8, 16; “The Holy Spirit“; “The Promise of the Holy Spirit“)
Believing is active, living and continuous trust in the provision of YHWH through Yahshua [Jesus] Messiah. When you believe in what He provided, what He says to you through scripture, you are able to be cleansed from sin, receiving the power to follow Him with the right motive in your heart. You must respond to the Word through active belief. You can be changed as the disciples of old were, having confidence of resurrection or living into His Kingdom in the future. The same power that raised Yahshua [Jesus] to life can give you the ability to follow the Messiah each day. (Luke 10:19; 1 Corinthians 4:20, 6:14; Ephesians 1:19, 3:20; Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Thessalonians 1:5; “A Matter of Grace – It’s Amazing“)
The Bible gives clear evidence that Yahshua [Jesus] is the Son of Elohim, much as John the Baptist did for the Jews of that day. (John 1:18-27, 29-34; Matthew 3:13-17; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 3:21-22) Today, disciples are to be baptized in the Holy Spirit, pointing others to the Messiah. The more time that you spend getting to know – learning to discern Messiah, the more that you are able to understand as you grow in spiritual maturity, training your innermost thoughts in the midst of Elohim’s love. (James 1:22-25; Hebrews 4:12, 6:1-20; 1 Peter 2:1-6; Proverbs 15:11) Through trust in Yahshua [Jesus] the Messiah and because of His sacrifice, eternal life is possible for children of YHWH. (John 1:13; “Can a Believer Stop Believing?“; “Discipleship Is Renewal“)
To the Hebrews, the Word was an agent of creation. (Psalm 33:6, 90:2; Jeremiah 32:17) To the Greeks and Jews in the time of Yahshua [Jesus], the Word was a legal construct of law and philosophy. The leaders of the Sanhedrin professed that the Word of YHWH governed the world. (Psalm 119:11; Hosea 1:2) In this way, the Jews of that time identified themselves with YHWH’s standard of sanctity. Moses emphasized YHWH’s justice through the Mosaic Law. (John 1:17) Yahshua [Jesus] the Messiah emphasized YHWH’s love and forgiveness. Yahshua [Jesus] came to fulfill that Law. The nature and Will of Elohim’s Word are embedded in the hearts of obedient people that return His love instead of stone tablets and legalistic ritual. (Ezekiel 11:9, 36:26; Psalm 51:10; 1 Timothy 1:5; Hebrews 3:8; Ephesians 6:6; 1 Thessalonians 2:4; “Reading & Understanding YHWH’s Word“)
The Word was seen as the principle of reason that governed the world. In Greek thinking, philosophy through reason is the way they viewed the world. The Jews adopted this same method of thought apart from faith, trust or belief. This is exactly what allowed the Jews and following generations of mankind through Christianity to create a tradition of apostasy out of YHWH’s truth. This is exactly the kind of secular thinking that rules the way that so many people think. (1 Corinthians 2:13; Romans 8:26; “Overcoming Satanic Attack“)
The leadership of the Jews clearly rejected Yahshua [Jesus] as Messiah, just as the governance of man does. (John 1:10-11; Matthew 18:7) Those that did receive and believe Him became sons of YHWH. (John 1:12-15) You get to know Yahshua [Jesus] better by reading the Word in scripture. (John 1:1, 14) Yahshua [Jesus] is the perfect teacher for His disciples, finished through the active work of the Holy Spirit. Despite the peace and wellness (shalom) He wants His people to have, we still grow old and can die as long as we live in man’s system. By trusting YHWH and the sacrifice of His Son, you can have a new life that lasts forever. That is His provision with Yahshua [Jesus] as High Priest. Through the example of the Messiah that the Bible shows, disciples are better able to see how YHWH thinks. Through this example, all disciples of the Messiah have the power to live like Yahshua [Jesus] when they choose to do so, putting on a new person through Messiah and the Holy Spirit. (Colossians 3:10; Ephesians 4:24; 1 Corinthians 2:14; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:5; 2 Timothy 2:15)
