“Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.” – Mark 1:35, NKJV
Prayer is togetherness with your Heavenly Father [YHWH], an admission of trust in Him. Prayer is that act of being in YHWH’s presence regardless of how you feel or your surroundings. Prayer is bringing Elohim [‘God’, YHWH] and His resources into your earthly and spiritual reality. Prayer is agreeing with your Heavenly Father for the Word that He speaks over you in the Bible. Remember that YHWH’s Will, His Power exerts influence over the physical. Prayer is the key to everything you have been called to do as you agree with Him and others around you. (“Abiding With YHWH in Quiet Places“; “Break Down Walls of Darkness with Prayer“; “Properly Directed Prayer is Potent“)
“You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.” – James 4:3
The prayer that YHWH answers is prayer according to His Will. He has a purpose for you that He wants you to participate in. You have the ability to choose. What is Elohim’s Will? His Will is always in line with His Word, His love and promise to you.
“Let love be without hypocrisy. Shrink from what is wicked, cling to what is good. In brotherly love, tenderly loving towards one another, in appreciation, giving preference to each other; not idle in duty, ardent in spirit, serving the Master; rejoicing in the expectancy, enduring under pressure, continuing steadfastly in prayer; imparting to the needs of the set-apart ones, pursuing kindness towards strangers.” – Romans 12:9-13, ISR98
Always ask your Heavenly Father for guidance in your life as you persevere in trust. Ask Him to teach you through the Divine Counselor, the Holy Spirit [Dedicated, Set Apart Spirit]. Believe that He has your best interests at heart always as His son or daughter. When you ask for guidance, know that He gives it in accordance with His promises. When you face conflict, pray for the assistance of your Divine Counselor. The Holy Spirit is your seal, Elohim’s mark, binding you to Hiss Kingdom. (“Abiding in Trust“; “The Unpardonable Sin“; “Listening to the Holy Spirit“; “Are You Rejecting YHWH’s Holy Spirit?“)
“for it is YAHWEH who is working in you both to will and to work for the sake of His good pleasure.” – Philippians 2:13, HRB
“I exhort you truly brothers, through the compassion of Elohim, provide your bodies a living sacrifice, set apart, in full agreement to Elohim, your reasonable service. So do not be conformed to the age, but to the contrary, transformed in the renewing of your mind. You must test what is beneficial, even fully agreeable and complete to the Will of Elohim.” – Romans 12:1-2, direct translation
When you surrender yourself totally and unconditionally to YHWH, His Written Word, and the Holy Spirit, the desires of your heart will exalt Him. It is His Will to grant you the desires of your heart that line up with His Word and Will. (“The Promise of the Holy Spirit“; “The Need to Keep Spiritually Clean“)
“Trust in YHWH, and do good;
Dwell in the earth, and feed on steadfastness.
And delight yourself in YHWH,
And let Him give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to YHWH,
And trust in Him, and He does it.” – Psalm 37:3-5, ISR98
“Trust in YHWH with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
Know Him in all your ways,
And He makes all your paths straight. ” – Proverbs 3:5-6
As you seek and learn to live in Elohim’s Will, He has promised to guide your life and show you favor.
“Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened. Or is there a man among you who, if his son asks for bread, shall give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, shall he give him a snake? If you then, being wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in the heavens give what is good to those who ask Him!” – Matthew 7:7-11, ISR98
YHWH’s Will is that every disciple who asks will receive in belief. His Will is that everyone who seeks will find. YHWH’s Will is that everyone who knocks, will have the Way revealed. It is His desire to give good things to His loyal and righteous, His sons and daughters that abide in Him. (“Life Healing and Belief“; “Which Shepherd Do You Believe?“; “A Branch of the Vine through Trust“)
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. – John 15:5-7, NKJV
Then, disciples are blessed with spiritual strength when they actively pray together and in united belief:
“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” – Matthew 18:19, NKJV
This means that two or more disciples pray together for the exact same need. Yahshua [Jesus] also promises that the Holy Spirit will be among those that meet together in His Name for prayer. This means YHWH hears and recognizes prayers in agreement that are in line with His Word! (“Hindered Prayer in Marriage“; “What is God’s “Church”?“; “Prayer: The Bottom Line“)
Be certain that you do not block your prayers:
“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” – Matthew 6:14-15, NKJV
Ask yourself these questions:
Am I committed to doing YHWH’s Will?
Are the desires of my heart in what I am praying for in line with the Bible?
Is YHWH providing the power and resources to accomplish my desire or am I simply slaving after things of man in my own strength?
Do you trust in YHWH and believe that He will do what He says as He works in line with His Will?
Trust in YHWH to provide for your needs. Abide in Him through the power of the Holy Spirit through the teaching of Messiah as you build spiritual strength. If you answered “no” to any of the preceding questions, you need to seek your Father’s guidance through the Holy Spirit. You need to be sensitive to your Divine Counselor, the Holy Spirit and listen to His voice. Operating in your flesh or getting busy in good works won’t achieve Elohim’s Will. Continue to develop spiritual discernment as you learn about YHWH and His purposes. YHWH’s purpose is that you do not remain as a baby Christian. He wants you to operate in the full expression of a personal relationship with Him as you seek His Will. (1 Corinthians 2:14; “Prayer and Your Faith“; “Christianity: A Crisis in Prayer & Spirit“)
What does the Bible say about what you pray for?

Remember that nothing is impossible for YHWH, the Most High. Do not be discouraged, even when what asked for seems like a tall order. All things are possible for Him, even the salvation of a rich man. The whole concept behind this involves idolatry. When riches (or anything else of the world) owns a man or woman, then the opportunity for salvation is bleak indeed. Whether riches own you or you own the riches is a very real matter. What a person does with riches while they are alive is what counts. What follows the question of idolatry involves the spiritual heart condition. The real question is whether you want what YHWH wants for you and others, whether you are in agreement with Him! He has living water that quenches the hardness of the world and allows you to be a new man or woman in Messiah. (Colossians 3:1, 10; Ephesians 4:24; 2 Corinthians 5:17; “The Miracle of Living Water“; “The Importance of Practical Repentance“; “Understanding Sin“)
“Then said Yahshua to His disciples, ‘I firmly say this to you, the wealthy will find it impossible to enter into the Kingdom of heaven.’ Then again, ‘I say to you, easier is it for a rope to go through a needle than the wealthy to enter into the Kingdom of Elohim.’ When his disciples understood, they were greatly astonished. Who in this manner can be saved? Then Yahshua discerned and said to them, ‘With men, this is not possible, but with Elohim, all is possible.” – Matthew 19:23-26, direct translation
A close examination of the Aramaic translations indicate that rope is the appropriate word, rather than camel. They are almost identical words in Greek. How will the wealthy enter His Kingdom? Only by unraveling his rope into strands, by giving his wealth to the service of others, can the wealthy pass into His Kingdom. The rich are answerable as to how their money is acquired and dispersed. This is a far better understanding than having a camel pass through the eye of a needle.
“The poor and the needy seek water, and there is none; their tongue is parched for thirst. I, YAHWEH will hear them; the Elohim of Israel will not leave them. I will open rivers in bare places, and fountains in the midst of valleys; I will make the desert for a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.” – Isaiah 41:17-18
